Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2016-09-07 Thread ianto39

Did you ever consider developing iPeng to not just be a Squeezebox
controller but to play the local music on the device also? It has by far
the best all round interface for queue management, and if was "just a
case of plugging in a new back-end" it would be an in-app purchase for
the ages. Next I guess people would want you to support streaming online
music sources, I hear ker-ching, in-app purchase again.

I don't think I ever filed a ticket, I just wondered if you ever took it
any further (the ability to play a quick preview of a track before
adding it to the queue).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] DSTM stops with one track in playlist

2016-09-07 Thread Gitfinger

Similar thing here.
Running 7.9.0 - 1471849136 on Mac.
Playing only local tracks. DSTM set to "Random songs".
If I add a single track to the playlist, it will stop playing halfway
through, and DSTM will appear in the playlist with "Song mix", but no
songs. It just stops.

If I have two tracks in the playlist, the second track will start
halfway through the first track, and Song Mix will appear in the
playlist, and then work correctly.

Debug log when only one track:
[16-09-08 14:19:51.5715] Slim::Utils::Timers::__ANON__ (273) Error:
Timer Slim::Plugin::DontStopTheMusic::Plugin::dontStopTheMusic failed:

[16-09-08 14:22:20.6885]
Slim::Plugin::DontStopTheMusic::Plugin::dontStopTheMusic (227) 0 songs
remaining, songIndex = 0

Interestingly, repeating the test with the same result, the log only
showed:
[16-09-08 14:29:02.2432]
Slim::Plugin::DontStopTheMusic::Plugin::onPlaylistChange (188) Received

remaining, songIndex = 0

The error line didn't appear.

Maybe only on OSX?

I tested this on OSX, too.

Should I try a complete uninstall and start from scratch? Do I need to
remove some specific files to create a fresh start?

Before you go there, make sure you enable debug logging for DSTM, and
reproduce the issue.

Thanks for the fix! I just got back from a trip and found iPlayer not
working, but I was sure there would be some action here. Working fine in

Has it been proven if there is an issue when no other airplay devices
are present, that makes the libratone zipps - and perhaps other players
- disappear.

Fixing the problem was easy as it the error message indicated the exact
missing routine - my main concern was to understand what had changed in
case it had other implications.

Yes -tonight or tomorrow I'll update the plugin and rev no and so users
will be able top update easily.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Family for Squeezebox

2016-09-07 Thread Wictorsson

Hi!

First, thanks for simplifying the lives of Spotify users with families!
:-)
Secondly, the problem:
I have two accounts, thus using SpotifyFamily1 and Spotifyfamily2
plugins.
The first account is a standard username/password account and the other
one is a Facebook account login where I got a special password generated
to be used in applications like this.
Both accounts work through the Squeezeboxes/iPeng but the Facebook
account is so slow in fetching the playlists and songs that it is almost
unusable.

Do you have any ideas what could cause differences in response times
towards Spotify?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] DSTM stops with one track in playlist

2016-09-07 Thread Michael Herger

It's not related to LastMix, other options in DSTM also stop playback.
DSTM is the only plugin which adds tracks autmatically

I'm sorry to say, but I can't reproduce the issue. I've tested with
LastMix as well as other options (Spotify recommendations, RandomPlay -
both of which work in a rather different way than LastMix), local files
only, or a mix of local and music service files (Tidal). Never did the
mix stop unless told to do so.

Is anybody else able to reproduce this problem?

Hi,

When a track is very long (e.g. I'm streaming something off SoundCloud
that is 3 hours long), the time remaining counter is always in minutes
and cuts off the final digit of the seconds, i.e. I get something like
-141:1 remaining, when the end should be -141:15.

I did a bit of digging to understand more clearly what is happening.

The intial http chunk of a DASH stream is called the MPD. This is an XML
"file" which gives details about the stream and all the possible
representation (e.g. data rates) (see
https://www.brendanlong.com/the-structure-of-an-mpeg-dash-mpd.html ).
AFAICT only this is initial MPD "file" is compressed using gzip. With
BBCiPlayer audio non uk the compressed header is usually less than 800
bytes. I suspect the main driver for the compressing the MPD would be
for BBCiPlayer video programs where there could be very many
representations and option and so MPD would be bigger.

Since this is the initial "file" any delays in providing this file to a
user will directly affect the "response time" a user perceives when they
request to play a program.

I'm running 0.2.0.2-dev3 and I am very, very happy with it.
With airplay bridge I have to rely on iPeng as my main control
interface, and I've put 2 SB3s in a sync group with 2 libratone
devices.
All players are set to power on/off separately, however I've had one SB3
or the other power up by itself (?) and start play with the group.

Is it possible -dev3 could cause that kind of behavior??

(I've seen it happen 3 times already, however a lot is new in my setup:
LMS version, this way of using sync groups and iPeng.
In addition, I've seen -dev1 and -dev2 in action from about day 1 with a
single libratone device synced and controlled in the same fashion to 4
Booms/SB3s, and it did not happen.)
