Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2017-03-14 Thread philippe_44

I've uploaded a 0.2.6.4-dev-3 which (hopefully) solves a few problems
reported by osv. I had to change a few low level things in the
communication with the CC, it should result in a much more responsive
solution, but I'd like to be sure I did not break anything else, so
testers welcome :)

This is music to my ears! I wish you all the good fortune in the world.
Thank you for giving hope. I promise to not ask any more questions about
it.

My girlfriend is addicted to the archives of In Our Time, and The Life
Scientific. She was almost bereft when it stopped working. But, I've
placated her by adding a couple of folders in Favorites, and populating
them with links to the mp3 files from the Podcast pages. That works well
enough.

Thanks again.

I won't say definitive end because there are alternative ways of getting
the info - just at the moment I don't have a lot of time to research the

Yes and no.

There is a balance - BBC don't want to be held back by equipment vendors
who are avoiding investment in new tech. On the plus side, BBC could
have done worse - they have not enabled DRM / encryption of streams to
protect copyright.

okay - The missed responses in the former versions might have been due
to this issue I corrected. So I've done a -dev-2 that waits for the
exact ID. I'm also only queuing what should be ordered, the volume &
status requests go direct. Let's see.

I forgot to change the stream settings, back to 320Kbps now thanks. The
BBC have never made it easy for plugin developers and have spoilt users
listening experience in the past when moving to AAC. It's only been the
skill and determination of yourself and others that have kept BBCiplayer
plugins functional for which I'm extremely grateful.

My gripe has always been with the BBC who levy a licence fee and then
dictate how and when I'm supposed to access the service.

I checked the Jongo settings using the Pure Connect app (which is

BBC have pulled the plug on the XML API that Extras uses. This has been
expected for the last few years. The message BBC warning this would
ahhpen is as follows

In other words - I could change the XML code to use JSON but that will
die very soon as well so why bother. BBC says there are other options
for these feeds available elsewhere from the BBC - they are not saying
if they are available nor how to use them.

Users of get_iplayer are also in trouble as all the xml feeds have

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2017-03-14 Thread woodster

Hi there,

I have had a pause in using my Jongo S3X speaker - but tried to use it
today after updating the plugin.
The player is discovered, an I can start some music or an internet radio
channel, but no sound is coming out form the player.
Once in a while I can get it to play one song, but then if I select a
different channel or number no sound is being played - it looks like it
is playing, with the position timer incrementing.

Log taken after the S3X profile has been attached, and the plugin has
been restarted - no sound is being played.

Starting Squeeze2upnp:
