I don't know why LMS choose to let the file in PCM format, maybe it's a
codec order thing. Do you have a different order between AirP>lay and
UPnP?

Back to the issue, any chance that the temporary space where buffers are
created gets full? That's one big difference between UPnP and Airplay,
the use of temp files (which was necessary for some players).

Seems to be an unlikely hypothesis, but I want to make sure. It's not
super clear, but it seems that it's more that network connections
LMS/Bridge and Bridge/Player are being reset

Could you also take a log with the output log set to "info" (just add
"-d output=info" to the extra command line options of the plugin's
settings)

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Logfile flooded after starting any MixCloud track

2017-07-29 Thread noexit

Finally got around to installing MixCloud and resolving a little issue
with encoding MP4's I had. I noticed however that the MixCloud Track
will not play for very long (a few minutes or so) before it stops. I
checked the log file and find that upon playing a MixCloud track I get
hundreds of these repeating errors instantly appearing in the log file:

Much better I think to figure out why you don't see the plugin and fix
that, but perhaps the first thing is to establish if your NAS is capable
of running Spotty.
What version of LMS?
Which Synology model?
In the plugin page of LMS, is there a list called "Other 3rd party
plugins" near the bottom?

Not sure where to post this, so please re-direct me if appropriate, but
since I only observed this after installing Spotty, I'll start here.

Every day I play a few of my Spotify playlists with LMS set to play
random tracks. After 30-55 tracks, LMS will just stop at the end of a
track. Hitting the button to go to the next track moves the playlists
along and the issue does not recur again during that day. I can see no
pattern of which tracks seem to trigger the stoppage. Not a huge
problem--just a minor annoyance, but I'd like to resolve it if it is a
simple fix. Is anyone else seeing similar behavior?

I am running the latest 7.9.1 LMS on a Windows 10 64-bit PC. Any
suggestions? I have no idea if logging something will give me a clue. If
I need to log something, I may need a little guidance on the logging
settings I need to make.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: ShairTunes2 plugin - Airtunes on your LMS

2017-07-29 Thread rickwookie

I love this plugin, being able to play anything from my iDevices
straight to my squeezeboxen.

Is there a way to tweak the setup though so that the iDevice gets the
correct audio delay info so that it will correctly delay video?

If I airplay YouTube on my iPhone or iPad to my Yamaha AVR directly,
even though the audio still takes a couple of seconds to start, the
video is correctly delayed so that it remains in sync. If I target any
of my LMS devices, the video starts straight away and the audio is then
WAY behind, usually around 4-5 seconds. It's as though the iOS device
gets some delay info back from my AVR that is missing from the
ShairTunes2 setup (or it's incorrectly getting 0 seconds for the delay
or something).

I just played the same spotty playlist on a real SB player - there is no
problem playing past the 2 long tracks.

Suggests an issue with the upnpbridge procedure. Damn.

As my problems with Spotty on upnp devices kicked off this issue, I can
confirm that no gapless works.

However, I am puzzled by 2 other problems:

1. Why is the bitrate reported as 1411 compared to the 'normal' 705 for
other real SB devices?

2. May be related to 1. - still testing - a playlist which contains 2
long tracks in sequence (6 min. & 8 min.) stops after the 8 min. track,
and refuses to continue. I'll report back on this after further
testing.

Fair enough, but don't be surprised if some people do get puzzled having
cleared fields. :)

Oh no worries, that would only be for new installations. Such new
default would not override existing settings. The default built in
settings are used only once (copied) when the bridge starts for the
first time to fill user's settings. You have to erase you config file or

Is that wise? It may cause problems for users with the current
defaults. You may need to warn people ahead of time, or leave them as
it is and update the information tips?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] A simple how to for "Spotty" and pCP

2017-07-29 Thread Man in a van

8) If you have the red cross on the new page, just click on the Start
button. There will be a green tick when LMS is running.

Click on Configure LMS and fill in what ever details you wish, I just
skipped through that.

When you are through to the Server gui click on "Settings" bottom right
corner.

Then click on the "Plugins" tab.

Scroll down and untick the Official Spotify plugin box

23249

Scroll further down to 3rd Party Plugins and tick "Spotty Spotify
Implementation" plugin box

23250

Continue scrolling down and click "Update plugins Automatically" and
then click Apply

23251

A message box will open asking for LMs to restart, go back to the
piCorePlayer web gui, LMS tab and click restart.

After restarting LMS refresh the LMS Server Settings page and click on
the Plugin tab> scroll down to the new "Spotty" plugin and click on
Settings.

If you still have Spotify (v1.0) present, un tick the box (check that
the "Update" box is still ticked) and click Apply and repeat the restart
procedure.

Refresh the Browser again and return to the Plugins page to check that
"Spotify" has gone and the then click on Settings at the end of the
"Spotty (v1.2.1) lne of text.

Complete the necessary details and follow the instructions

23252

If you only want to use the pi for LMS then you can stop Squeezelite
starting by going to the "Tweaks" page in piCorePlayer,
also remember to select a player in your LMS Web Gui before starting
"Spotty".

If you wish to update LMS manually to v7.9.1 then follow the guide from
here

http://picoreplayer.sourceforge.net/main_howto.shtml

Notice on the top left corner of the piCorePlayer web gui there are
(after install) a couple of quick links to take you to the "Help" and
"LMS" respectively.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] A simple how to for "Spotty" and pCP

2017-07-29 Thread Man in a van

Here is a bare bones on how to install Spotty on a Raspberry pi3B.
This is just my simple guide to what I have done, if you use it, you do
so at your own risk.
You first need to install LogitechMediaServer on the pi.
Decide which OS you want to use.
I have used piCorePlayer in this example.

Information can be found here

https://sites.google.com/site/picoreplayer/home/news

and here for lots more detail on each step

http://picoreplayer.sourceforge.net/main_about.shtml

Here is a precis of the steps involved, it does not take very long to
do, just take your time and check each step as you go along.

1) Download piCorePlayer v3.2.1 (I used the normal version)

2) Burn the image to a sd card (4gb, in this case) I used Etcher
https://etcher.io/ (which will use the zipped image).

3) Put the SD card into the pi, conect the pi to your network with an
Ethernet cable, plug in the power supply and switch on.

Allow a minute or so for the pi to stabalise and then find its IP
address.

I went to my router's web pages and looked under DHCP Server, Clients
List.

There are also apps to enable you do do this on your computer OS, use
Google to find one.

4) Open the pCP web page in your favourite browser.

23245

5) Click on the Main Page tab and then on the beta tab at the bottom and
the on the Resize FS button

23246

6) Choose the size of the partition and follow the instructions (I went
with 200MB) Allow time for the reboot.

23247

7) Still on the bottom beta tab click on the LMS tab on the top of the
page.

Click the radio button for Autostart and the Install button for LMS. Be
patient it will take a short time to complete.

23248

I'll continue in a second post.

Yeah, it might be the processor (as Alfisti pointed out also).

I did get SSL installed on my Qnap nas, with the help op this post:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?87731-Announce-YouTube-Plugin=810751=1#post810751

But I've upgraded the instructions to the latest versions.
This might help other people, so I will re-post the updated instructions
here:

Code:

ipkg install openssl openssl-dev
  ipkg install make
  ipkg install gcc

  cd /share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer
  mkdir tmp
  cd tmp

  wget http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/A/AB/ABH/Mozilla-CA-20160104.tar.gz
  tar zxvf Mozilla-CA-20160104.tar.gz
  cd Mozilla-CA-20160104
  ../../bin/perl Makefile.PL
  make
  make install
  cd ..

  wget http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/M/MI/MIKEM/Net-SSLeay-1.81.tar.gz
  tar zxvf Net-SSLeay-1.81.tar.gz
  cd Net-SSLeay-1.81
  OPENSSL_PREFIX=/opt ../../bin/perl Makefile.PL
  make
  make install
  cd ..

  wget http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/S/SU/SULLR/IO-Socket-SSL-2.049.tar.gz
  tar zxvf IO-Socket-SSL-2.049.tar.gz
  cd IO-Socket-SSL-2.049
  ../../bin/perl Makefile.PL
  make
  make install
  cd ..

After installing it, the SSL error message dissapeared from the logs,
but I still got this error:

Code:

6307: sh: head: command not found
  6306: sh:
/opt/ssods4/var/home/SqueezeboxServer/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/arm-linux/spotty-hf:
 No such file or directory
  6305: [17-07-29 11:24:08.0292] Plugins::Spotty::Plugin::getHelper (504) Last
error:
  6304: [17-07-29 11:24:08.0268] Plugins::Spotty::Plugin::getHelper (503)
Didn't find Spotty helper application!

I've tried starting the spotty-hf executable by hand, but it produced
the same error message, No such file or directory.
To be clear, this message is produced by spotty-hf, the file itself is
there, and the path to it is correct too.

I am considering moving LMS to one of my raspberries.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*

2017-07-29 Thread chaohsi

Hi, first of all, thanks for providing the beta version to keep my LMS
alive. The official release 7.9.0 stopped working since someday I
upgraded to DSM 6.

The beta version of LMS (7.9.1-1492077569) is working well (almost) but
it crashes if I tried to play a folder from my Squeezebox Radio. When I
press the Play button on Squeezebox Radio when selecting a folder, LMS
stops after few seconds when playing the first song in the selected
folder, but if I entered the folder and select the first song then press
the Play button, it works fine.

The log only show some warning indicating fixed-point overflow, do you
have any idea to fix it?

I installed LMS on Synology NAS DS1813+ with DSM 6.1.3-15152 update 1.

Thanks,

Chao-hsi
