Very interesting information from both Michael and David. So, I
experimented a bit, bypassed firewalls, etc. and remembered I have an
"old" installation of LMS I have on another Win 7 system that I use as a
"dormant backup". I turn it on, update the Spotty Plugin and it
connects successfully. So, it seems to be somehow related to my
"production" system and/or it's LMS installation. I'll keep you posted
with more updates as I figure them out.

Clean the log, on the extra command line type “-d all=sdebug” (no “”),
play then take the whole logfile (in programdata/squeezeboxserver/logs I
think), zip it and sent it to me by email (address in the 3rd part

that version crept in. :D

I decided to bite the bullet and purchased a separate Pi to run my
squeezebox server, but I now ran into a new issue. The paring went
smoothly, but playback stops on the AppleTV after a short while (approx
between 30 seconds and 3 min) randomly. If I press pause and play it
starts again. When synchronised with other players it just drops out of
the stream while the other two players continue to play.

I had a similar problem with Spotty on Pi3 not being able to validate my
account credentials. It was "accidentally" fixed when I coincidentally
for other reasons changed the wifi router/internet modem to a different
brand/model - fresh set-up. Spotty had been working with the old router
for a long time but then at some point stopped. Couldn't get it to work
on Pi3 although it worked fine in LMS on the PC via the same router.
Still haven't explained why or how it "fixed".

I'm sorry to say no, I don't... but I bet you should be able what

That’s the reason. By default, Perl on Windows is 5.14 and I don’t

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty lags behind

2018-07-10 Thread mherger

Streaming PCM should use the least CPU, as it's what I receive from the
spotty helper. Transcoding to flac/mp3 would use more CPU, but less
bandwidth. I doubt this is the bottleneck, but feel free to play with
it.

You could set logging for plugin.spotty to INFO, then "tail -f
server.log" (the exact path you can find in Settings/Information). Watch
the log while you interact using the Spotify app on your mobile or
desktop. You should see events triggered in the log when you change a
track in the app. Is there a lag in between those? Or is the lag
introduce later, when the streaming starts?

What kind of internet connection are you using?

And don't try to mess with those processes. You're more likely going to
cause problem than solve anything.

An old thread and the author of SpotifyFamily has not been active on the

Playlists are no longer retrieved to SpotifyFamily, I guess because
something has changed on the Spotify side.

Spotify announced the end of the underlying libspotify more than a year
ago. I'm surprised the plugin is still working at all.

That's the reason why I created the Spotty plugin. Give it a try. It
allows you to use multiple accounts, too.

Or is this in the original code for the Triode plugin?
Any suggestions from anyone?
