I did the following to get a streaming URL I could play in LMS. (I used Firefox in Windows.) - Go to radio.com and start playing a station. - Press Ctrl-A to select all the text. - With the text selected, right-click and select "View Selection Source". - Look for a streaming URL in the Selection Source text (see the example below). - Copy this URL and paste it in the "Tune In URL" box in LMS. For example, when I did this for WGR, I found this URL in the Selection Source text and could play it in LMS: http://stream.abacast.net/direct/entercom-wgramaac-64?Source=radiocomWeb&tgt=cbslocalplayer As with the iheartradio streaming URLs, there's no way of knowing how long it will stay valid, but it's working for now. mattb4310's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67468 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109250 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
Michael! Thanks so much for your guidance and support with my Spotty plugin issues. As it turns out my issue was likely a file permissions issue within Windows that was resolved my deleting and recreating my extremely bloated user profile. Since then I've been very much using the Spotty plugin to hear all kinds of great Jazz (Hard Bop Jazz playlist to be specific). I'll likely be canceling my Deezer account as the interface for Deezer seems not nearly as robust and useful. Thanks again for all you do! I have everything at 100% including swyh's slider, and the volume is still very low in relation to the rest of the players sources (internet radio, flac files). I am suspecting (without any real proof or insight) that is is in the encoding of swyh, or perhaps some windows/soundcard setting/adjustment. I say that because the system sounds (like the "doink" when opening the mixer) come through quite loud, but by comparison to another source? not sure. I don't really understand the mechanism of swyh, where it gets its data from and what it does to it before it creates the stream. I had a thought of using two computers on the same network, matching the audio volume, run swyh on one, then play the url on the other, and see if there is a difference. Maybe that idea is flawed, I haven't really thought it through, but with one computer at this location, its moot ;) I'll spend a little time tonight digging into it. Thanks for the input. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Version 1.6.1 is published. Changes include: Track, Artist, Album variables that can be embedded in Tray Menu Links. Output device. Now uses output device name instead of output device number when calling squeezelite-win.exe. Previously. SLX would use the device number (e.g. -o #) when starting squeezelite-win.exe player. Now it will call squeezelite-win.exe using the actual device name (e.g. -o "Output Device Name"). When starting squeezelite-win.exe, SLX will first check to confirm the device name is available, if not available the will revert to default. This change is an attempt to make the output device selection for squeezelite-win.exe a little more robust for cases where the output device list changes. The output device list can change when devices are plugged-in or unplugged, or when you RDP into your desktop and if an invalid output device is selected, squeezelite-win.exe could fail. Be advised that when you upgrade to 1.6.1, the output device will revert to default the first time you run it. Fortunately, it is a talk station, so no need to worry about sound quality. I don't plan to look to radio.com for additional stations when they are available so many other places. (actually, I remember seeing a thread where a user was looking for a way to stream amazon prime, but a plugin couldn't be written because of api availability...this might be a solution for that...) I think for me, I'll have SWYH run at startup (with LMS), and then just have a shortcut to the stat...@radio.com link on my desktop, as it autoplays when launched. So my process will be to click the shortcut, select swyh from the favorites on the player. This way, on boot, I don't have the station autoplay through the speakers. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Any way to listen to radio.com?
If this is on the same machine as LMS then you can set it up to have radio.com always start with the PC, always have SWYH running with the same port and just use the Favourite in whatever player you want. NOTE. You can mute the soundcard on the PC and it wont (shouldn't) affect the stream. You are going to ask how to start radio.com with the PC aren't you? 1. Create shortcut 2. Copy shortcut to startup folder Here is a snippet from elsewhere (to save me typing) Create Shortcuts After copying a Web pages URL, you can right-click your desktop, click New and then click Shortcut to view the Create Shortcut window. There you can paste your URL and give it a descriptive name by typing it into the windows text box. After you click Next, a new shortcut appears on your desktop. You can double-click that shortcut to view it in your browser. Updating the Startup Folder The fastest way to find the Startup folder is to right-click your Start button and click All Programs. Windows shows you a list of applications and folders. One of these folders is the Startup folder. When you double-click it, the folder does not open. You can open the Startup folder by right-clicking it and selecting Explore. Windows Explorer launches and displays the folders contents in its window. Put your shortcut into that folder by right-clicking the shortcut, selecting Copy and then clicking an empty area in the Startup folder. When you select Paste, Windows pastes a copy of the shortcut into the folder. Considerations When you shut down Windows and start it again, it automatically runs your shortcut and launches your Web browser, which means youll never have to launch your browser manually again. You can simply boot your computer in the morning, walk away and return to a computer that has your browser running and your Web page loaded. If you ever want the Web page to stop loading automatically, return to the Startup menu, right-click the shortcut you added and select Delete. Doing this will not delete your desktop shortcut; the one in the Startup folder is only a copy of the desktop shortcut. I didn't mean the model. But for example, if you have Group control disabled and you are not controlling the master, this might not do anything in a player group (that's the same with all other interfaces for SB, e.g. the web interface). And you can configure a player to keep a playlist shuffled when turning shuffle mode off, IIRC.
