2018-09-11 Thread njr

Hi,

For the last few days (weeks?) I've not been able to get the PSD button
to work. It just reads:

"Failed to play something different..."

In the log I see:

Code:

[18-09-11 21:01:31.2664]
Plugins::RadioParadise::Plugin::_playSomethingDifferentSuccess (336) (
  "Something's wrong with this track information:",
  {
  artist   => "",
  cover=> "http://radioparadise.com/graphics/covers/m/.jpg";,
  cue  => 0,
  duration => 0,
  fade_in  => 0,
  title=> "",
  url  => "",
  },
  )

Any ideas? Happening for others?

UR welcome HB,

I might consider updating sox to Ralphy's version, which include dsd
support. Unfortunately new updates have to wait till after I moved to my
new house (and after some major home improvements). Hopefully I'll add a
new nas too. Looking at a DS218+. Add this to the new fiber glass 200mb

I'm just giving it another go, on a 30 day trial subscription, mainly to
try out the hi-res streaming.

I've been using Qobuz for some time, but TIDAL do hi-res for the same
price as Qobuz charge per month; Qobuz charge another 50% for hi-res
streaming.

However, TIDAL hi-res is only via desktop app, which is not for me
(Windows too busy screwing things up).

I did also try Audirvana (I think it's called), however I'm not
impressed; it's glitchy and a bit crude.

At least the TIDAL desktop app does work, though, whereas the Qobuz one
doesn't, at least not on my laptop - it's necessary to use the web
interface from a desktop.

Stig Nygaard wrote:

I was thinking to avoid the swapping over to mysqueezebox.com (away from
the local server) as my Touch does when I select 'native support' Tidal,
hence why I've been trying ickstream (again; I first tried it some time
ago).

However, I'm now doubting what I've written above because, when using
'native support' TIDAL on piCorePlayer, this doesn't appear to happen;
it doesn't appear to 'switch' to mysqueezebox.com it seems more seamless
/ integrated.

Also, I notice that using Squeezepad remote control, with piCorePlayer +
piCorePlayer LMS, actually does work, whereas I'm pretty sure that it
doesn't with Touch + Windows LMS (get the 'no content' message, and
instead have to use the Touch's actual IR remote control).

Maybe this is just to do with Squeezelite/Jivelite working differently?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Tidal + Volume Levelling

2018-09-11 Thread bakker_be

Hi,
is there a way to have Tidal's volume levelled through LMS? Using the
native Tidal app, on PC as well as Android, and probably iOs as well
it's an option in the settings, but this option doesn't exist (or I
haven't found it) in the Tidal plugin for LMS, which is kind of annoying
if you play a playlist composed of different artists & recordings ...

OK, here's what I tried today (and again, I know you are busy for a few
days!).  With Log attached.

This is all LMS, on the same laptop from which I tried the net streams
referred to in the previous post. I'm in Paris, and tired various
options both with and without a VPN.

A) First a regular R4FM stream, without any of the sports commentary
regional restrictions
- using NordVPN: works on the LMS BBC app and on iPlayer .

- using NordVPN: Did not work on iPlayer : "Can't
Find File".

- without any VPN: works on the LMS BBC app, and on iPlayer
- without any VPN: Did not work on iPlayer : "Can't Find
File".

So, that seems all as expected.

B) Second, trying the region-restricted sports commentaries on R4LW
- using NordVPN: LMS BBC App worked for R4LW
- using NordVPN: iPlayer was either silent with a "File Not Found"
message () or Rights Restriction Audio Message ()

- without any VPN: LMS BBC App had Rights Restriction Audio Message
- without any VPN: iPlayer was either silent with a "File Not Found"
message () or Rights Restriction Audio Message ()

So, only the LMS BBC App worked, and only using a VPN.

Hope that's clear!

Cheers.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X

2018-09-11 Thread rgdawson

I have been working on the request to make it easier to switch back and
forth between the main browser and the mini-browser. So my thought is
to have a button in the title bar of each respective window that
switches to the other view. In the mini-browser, looks like so:

25577

The mini-browser was easy since it was already a borderless style
window.

The main browser turned out to be far, far more difficult. Without
getting into too much detail, suffice it to say that putting controls in
the title area of re-sizable window is notoriously difficult to do
right, while handling all the OS version, themes, and styles. So I
decided to make the Main Browser window style borderless and code the
border and caption myself, so that it would look and work the same on
different OS versions, including Win7. In the process, I refined the
look of the main browser window. It's color is fixed, I have removed
some old fashioned stuff, like the control icon. I'm thinking about
removing the Main Window Caption. And I have cropped out some of the
browser window, in order to make it look more seemless.

So here is what the new main browser Window would look like:

25578

Here is another version, with a "Squeezelite-X" caption and using Teal
color.

25579

I'm still deciding whether to color the control icons White or Teal, and
whether the show the "Squeezelite-X" title caption or not.

I still have some testing to do before I publish this, so I thought I'd
see what ya'll thought.

The Inguz plugin.pm performs two basic functions -
1. gather filter data - eg graphic equaliser filters, room correction
filters etc and set filters for the convolver
2. generate custom-convert.conf settings for each particular file type.

Now here is where I get a bit selfish, I only have flac and mp3 in my
library and those work fine through Inguz, but now I want to play an
aac+ stream and it doesn't even play. I have tried deleting the aap (aac
plus) line from the cuctom-convert.conf but it still didn't play

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty. how to autorun a specific spotify playlist on pcp/lms startup

2018-09-11 Thread edwin2006

Is there a way to start a specific spotify playlist at the moment the
pcp is rebooting or the lms is restarting?
I assume it would be something in LMS that at the moment it start's it
would start the playlist (perhaps via favorites?)

OK No reply expected to this as you're busy, but this is the first
set of results, using browser access rather then LMS (which I'll do this
afternoon).

Using Firefox, from same laptop where LMS is installed, and with Flash
DISABLED in F'fox options. And I'm sitting in Paris.

A) Direct access, no VPN.
Radio 4 FM stream works fine; R3 Stream works fine.
R5 Live Sports Extra (Live cricket commentary:
https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/cricket/43878000) - Silence and an error
message. I'm assuming there's a region restriction.

B) NordVPN connection to UK server
R4 FM stream works fine; R3 Stream works fine
R5 Live Sports Extra (Live cricket commentary:
https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/cricket/43878000) - works fine [So, it
thinks I'm in the UK].
I also tried assorted websites on the BBC that have strict region
restrictions [eg, the TV iPlayer] and they all worked fine under the
VPN.

[There's no net access to R4 LW, which is also carrying the cricket, so
I can't check that out here, as I will be able to do via LMS.]

So, the VPN is not causing me a problem via laptop net access, so far as
I can tell.

[An aside for cricket fans: this year, for non-UK residents, the BBC
have also provided access to the TMS Live Commentary via a YouTube
channel:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VfC8Y6nsVY   which is very
nice of them! For me, I can access that with no VPN, but *with* the
VPN, I'm blocked, as it's strictly non-UK.]

2018-09-11 Thread Max2Play

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you know about some of our new developments.

We recently released *Max2Play 2.47* with some great new features
added.

Here's the changelog:

- NEW PLUGIN! *API-Examples*
  automatically added to your Max2Play in 2.47, the Plugin can be
  activated in Settings/Reboot
  List of various HTTP requests and CLI commands for Max2Play multimedia
  features
  easy copy and paste option for all open-source home automation
  software
  create simple shortcuts for tasks like shutdown, reboot, play or
  pause
- NEW PLUGIN! *OpenHAB Server*
  one-click installer of the OpenHAB 2 Server on RPi
  Alexa support for Squeezebox control
  easy integration of Max2Play features with the API-Examples
- MamboBerry HD DAC+ added to Sound Card Selection
- PiJuice quick installer for GUI or web-based integration added to
  Raspberry Settings
- HiFiBerry BeoCreate TCP server beta
- Kodi PVR Addons for Stretch added
- Spotify Connect fix for RPi Zero and RPi Zero wireless
- Adafruit touchscreen integration fix
- Various bug fixes
- Security updates

Both new plugins are great additions to Max2Play and can make your Pi
even more ubiquitous in your home network.

Especially the API-Examples plugin is ideal for all Squeezebox users of
Max2Play since it dynamically creates an extensive list of HTTP and CLI
commands for playback control other functions.
You can find it in all Max2Play systems with the update. It’s a free
plugin and can be added in the Settings/Reboot menu from the available
plugins section.

We will publish some more details and articles on these updates soon,
but for now I wanted to let you know right away so you can try them out
:)

To check whether problem is LMS or network. You can test BBC DASH
stream using BBC Web pages as long as browser is setup NOT to use Flash
- see http://www.bbc.co.uk/html5 . When BBC web pages are setup to use
HTML5 they are using DASH for video and audio.

Use a Browser (I prefer Firefox/Chrome - not sure about MS ones or
Safari) on same PC as LMS and try playing BBC Web page live radio audio
using HTML5 - the plugin should work exactly the same with same
restrictions as its DASH code runs in LMS.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AAC+ Transcoding help needed.

2018-09-11 Thread bpa

Looking back at old threads - there was a period where I did not have a
plugin so support for AAC+ for streams was done via manual mods to conf
files. Perhaps there is an old conf file somehwere on your system.

Find the types.conf or custom-types.conf file with the following line as
it defines the "aap" tyoe which is now non-standard and not required in
LMS..

Code:

  aap   ?   audio/aacp  audio

It's a long time ago but didn't InguzDSP somehow scan various conf files
to generate its conf file ?

The baseline to get working is a live non UK playing "normal" programs
(e.g. R2 or R3) using DASH. Once that is working then problems brought
by restrictions/geo locking can be isolated.

1. Squeezelite can play AAC streams natively.
2. The PlayAAC plugin is install as I can see the "aap" type being
checked.
3. The following fails becuase LMS code has changed (Pipeline.pm file is
gone) and PlayAAC is trying to call a routing in Pipeline.pm.

Code:

  [18-09-11 12:42:47.3339] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (131) Error:

  ; fh=Slim::Networking::Async::Socket::HTTP=GLOB(0x55ab3a0e05e0)

Stop LMS and manually delete the PlayAAC plugin directory and then
restart LMS.

Hey, no problem! You are quite generous enough with your time anyway!
I'll come at the problems several ways today, and log them all. Today
is a good day, as assorted access routes to the Radio4 LW stream will be
region-restricted, as it's live sports commentary. So I can try VPN /
not VPN; and all the different paths into the commentary (via a net
browser, via the LMS BBC app, via the iPlayer, both UK and non-UK.
We'll crack it!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-09-11 Thread Michael Herger

Thanks for your reply Michael. I've already searched there but I'll try
again on the ReadyNas forum. I don't suppose the Triode plug-in exists
anywhere for me to revert back to meantime?

I don't have any copy left, I'm sorry.

If there are significant errors, the plugin will produce error mesages
in the log file without any additional changes.

To get the plugin to produce additional info, you set the log control
plugin.bbciplayer and plugin.bbciplayer.dash to INFO.  The player.source
can be left at ERROR as log levels are reset on LMS restart.

Looking at previous occurances of this error and some (not all) users
had an ISP / VPN root cause.

Unfortunately, the next 1-2days is v. busy for me and I probbaly won't
be able to get on the forum until late Weds.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AAC+ Transcoding help needed.

2018-09-11 Thread bpa

What version of LMS are you running ?

AAC and AAC+ support are the same.

IIRC Before LMS 7.3 or maybe 7.5 - AAC was not supported as standard by
LMS so I wrote a plugin (PlayAAC?) which defined a type "aap" and used
mplayer to decode AAC .

When LMS started supporting AAC - with type "aac" and faad - there was
no need for the PlayAAC plugin - in fact the plugin should be removed.

Unless you are still running 7.2 I'm guess you still have the PlayAAC
when it should have been removed.
