Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.5.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-12-27 Thread Michael Herger

Is there any Qobuz Connect on which a similiar plugin could be created.
It's very convenient to use the native interface from a streaming
service.

Not that I'm aware of. AFAIK only Spotify has been powerful enough so
far to be able to impose such a thing on the market.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2018-12-27 Thread Michael Herger

Yeah, I never liked the stars - but they were the best match in the
material icons font. However, I've now found some material-style SVG pin
icons - and these will be used in the next release.

But the stroke-through pins at the top of the main menu look a bit odd,
too. My opinion, obviously. They're too big and bold, and express a
"negative mood" :-). I preferred the outline vs. filled approach of the
stars. Or if you could make them hidden, and only show when hovering
over the item. But as of commit 33d5794 the pins look even bolder than
the icons of the other menu items.

UI design can be frustrating. Once it's not broken any more, it's all
about opinions. Hard to fight, and hard to please everybody...

Thanks. Yep I don't understand how Win10 works in this respect or how

that got round the problem.

the posted response, the query part worked correctly but posting of the
results to HA sensors did not due to bad URL, port and / or HA token

I will try to keep an eye out when I get a chance if there are any

+1. I think it would be awesome if "My Music" could collapse (so I
could ignore it). Even more awesome if we could alter the display
order. This has come up before and *Craig *(not Greg) subsequently
coded up the ability to pin items, which show up at the top. I think
Pippin's iPeng has an awesome capability in this regard, but I'm betting
he put considerable effort into that. So not a "stupid" question, just
(I'm assuming) not a top priority for Craig (yet!) as to do it right
will be hard (I'm assuming again).

Yes, I agree. Pinning items from the bottom to the top would look
messy.
Maybe I try to get the items to the top myself via trial and error -
But I would need to fully understand the 1712 lines of code in

No worries, thanks. It's even funnier in Chrome, now that I look at it.
I'll just keep the phone in portrait. For the number of people who would

Nice! Thank you. Mobile now playing is now clean and clear, and I like
the album background in other views.

Landscape in Android Firefox is still odd, but the text is no longer
overlapping so that's good. If I could make the address/tool bar
disappear I think this problem would go away, but that can only be done
by scrolling down a longer page as far as I know.

Anyway this does not happen on my tablets, only on my phone (LG V30),
and I will restrict it to portrait.

Since a few days ago, the FLAC stream is not playing through. Typical
behavior:
* first song plays to completion
* second song cuts off maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through; this is in
conjunction with either Bill/Rebecca coming on and doing their
announcement, or merely a new block starting
* each 20+ min block never completes (even though progress bar typically
shows that there is 15+ mins left), but rather cuts off after 2nd song
and starts new block.

I think this started 2-3 days ago.

MP3 streams are fine, and as is the FLAC feed when playing through a
browser, so I don't think it's on the RP side of things. Anyone else
experiencing this?

Would appreciate any tips/pointers for troubleshooting. Have already:
* restarted server
* updated LMS to latest
* disabled and re-enabled the plugin

System: Win10-64 Pro 1809; (6) SB Touch players. No other issues playing
either local music or streaming various radio stations.

I plan on mounting an iPad on the wall in my kitchen using the material
skin. Is there a way to have it automatically turn on to the material
skin if I start to use the kitchen zone and turn off when the music is
stopped? A script based on the mac address or ip address of the iPad
and LMS or an option in Material or something like that?

There could have a logic to place the last used option on top. This
would after a while show your top-five options. More code of course, and
would reset on any new device you use, but simplistic.

Pinning (e.g.) the 'Favorites' would be silly - there'd be 2 copies on
the main screen. Also, yeah its at the bottom - a swipe away, not
exactly that hard. So, no I have no intention of making the items
re-orderable. There's already ~2000 lines of code for the browse page,
adding more increases the likely hood of yet more bugs.

Pinning these items would be great as well for my use case. But
obviously I also have no idea what it trakes to do that...
Therefor any help / hint for other means getting these entries up would
be great.

I boiled it down to: Artists, Genre, Music Folder and Playlists. These
are my main entrypoints into my local library.
However, this still pushes the 'other music' entries off the screen.

There is the feature of pinning items.
Under my Apps I can pin Spotify to appear as my first option.
If this was available on music entries your use case would probably be
solved, I suggested that earlier, but have no clue what it would take.

So I don't want to cut all the entries - which leaves me still scrolling

As I rarely use my local music collection, but meanwhile rely on your

above question:
Is the menue order in your skin defined within your plugin or is that
defined by LMS? If it is in your Plugin - could you give me hint where
that is defined?
Then I could perhaps 'manually' alter the menue order for myself, as
judging from the general lack of feedback to my question, there seems to

This work to, there are now sidebars in landscape mode. These are black
and blends in with my black phone.
This way all details are visible.

This is the safe way, not as elegant as if you can fine tune the content
around the tab/notch, but I realize the challenge I doing this in blind.

Feel no pressure.

I realize that you don’t have such a device, that’s why I provided the
screenshots.

My way of helping out is by testing and provide feedback. But you are in

Well I give up. I have no device with a notch, so this is just going
round in circles. I've remove the viewport-fit=cover so safe areas
should not be used. I've also set a background colour for the html tag,
so hopefully this will set the colour of the safe areas.

Cache cleared!

No padding is visible.
I marked the zones hidden by the tab in the three views.
I tried to be exact so you can maximize the real estate...

This fixed the full screen in portrait mode.
While navigating from a home screen shortcut you enter a beautiful full
screen experience, like an app.

Navigating within safari will have the same old behavior for portrait
mode show nav bar, but that is kind of expected.

For landscape mode, it is possible to add a padding to the numbers on
the left and right side above the duration bar?
The 2 first/last digits and the colon is hidden by the iPhone X tab.
For played time: can the minutes digits be placed where seconds digits
are.
For song time: can the seconds digits be placed where the minutes digits
are.

It seems like the lower navigation bar disappears when you scroll down.
As the material page fits perfectly in the browser there is no scrolling
down. There is not a lot of scrolling needed to activate this behavior.
