Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.7.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
I did attach the server.log with spotty in Info log level. In there is nothing I can make sense of. spotty-hf just dies without a line. You could try to run it from a shell, to see whether you'd get something to errout. You'll find the command line you need in the log file, where it says it's restarting it. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Nothing I am aware of, unfortunately. I had that condition before, but I am likewise not clear why it had begun to work again. I updated to the lightest nightly and spotty, but no change. Nothing in the server.log? if you have something to play it on :) Haha... you have no idea how yesterday I told my wife that sometimes I'd like to have a room with my stereo, where I could listen to my music and crank the volume up!... Unfortunately we have rather thin walls... and my nice system is sitting in the office, where I hardly have the time to really enjoy the music. But in a few years, when the kids prefer to stay away from their father anyway, I'll take it back home :-D -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.7.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
Here I am back with a problem that I had before, but that went away in the meantime. Now its back: System is Rpi3b+, pCP 4.0 with LMS and Squeezelite/Jivelite Everything ran OK, sometimes the connection btn the Win10 Spotify app and the player was lost, but most of the time the connection could easily be re-established from the app. Now spotty-hf crashes every time I try to connect from the app. Spotty-hf restarts and I can see it in the app again, but as soon as I connect the spotty-hf process is gone. Playing music from spotty inside the LMS gui works on the other hand. Help? I haven't seen it said anywhere, but it seems that podcasts run at 128k MP3. Presumably its a backwards compatible thing ..? Do the BBC say anywhere why the podcasts are only in 128kbps MP3? That's a step down even from the non UK streams and a considerable reduction in quality compared to UK 320kbps AAC streams. A few years ago it was all about HD radio and then the FLAC Radio 3 Concert Sound for the proms, it was encouraging to see the push for better sound quality. It seems a big reversal to suddenly go to only 128kbps MP3 for some things. I know some players can only cope with MP3 but they could use 320kbps, or offer two streams. Likewise here, both 'FT' and The Infinite Monkey Cage play 128K MP3 (Podcast) perfectly well when selected for Iplayer play again. I'll leave 1.63 running for a week or so and see how it performs over an extended period ... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support
I have created a test version (1.6.3) BBCiPlayer to solve the issue of "Listen Again "programs which don't play and are listed as podcast only such as 5Live Fighting Talk and R4's Infinite Monkey Cage. To install test version - replace the BBCiPlayer betarelease-repo.xml repo URL by HTTP://DOWNLOADS.SOURCEFORGE.NET/PROJECT/BPAPLUGINS/TEST-DIES-29JAN19.XML BBC have made some programs appear Podcast only so when an AOD program is played - an extra check is made to see if only podcast version is available - in which case SB player will play the MP3 podcast. The new version adds an extra network fetch step to all AOD programs which can cause a slight start delay - it is dependent on networks. MP3 podcast version of program can be longer (e.g. Infinite Monkey cage podcast is 45min vs DASH 30min) Podcast are 128kbps MP3 whereas the same program from BBCiPlayerExtra would be AAC and 96kbps non-UK and possibly 320kbps for UK (TBC). I have done basic testing. I have not tested for * use by UK based users. * program which not podcast only but not available on AOD * Use on non SB player & Web clients such smartphone apps, Material skin etc. Please test and report any odd behaviour as changes could affect any AOD playback and associated metadata. AOD = Audio-On-Demand aka "Listen Again" bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.7.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
I went to play a long-standing LMS playlist this am that contained a mix of local and Spotify tracks. None of the Spotify tracks are there anymore, Is this because I cleared the Spotify search list? No, certainly not. Any trace in server.log or scanner.log? Would a re-scan fix this? -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The BBCiPlayer plugin has no special support for VPN - it has to be implemented at OS level. BBC uses two CDNs - it is worth trying both live menus "Listen Live" which is Akamai and "Listen Live - alt CDN" which is Limelight. If neither work then the problem is with the VPN supplier. As it is known that BBC reads the BBCiplayer thread and since using BBC UK-only services from outside UK violate the BBC T, I would prefer if any other discussion of VPNs does not occur in this thread. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
