Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin

2019-06-17 Thread Michael Herger

While integrating some of the newer features of MAI into the extGUI4LMS
plugin, I've come across the following issues:

Could you please test v1.6.1? I unified the lyrics lookup to (hopefully)
give more predictable results :-).

That code (like many parts in the plugin) has grown a lot over time.
There's been a ton of incomplete code duplication. CLI support I only
added later than the menus etc. Now the CLI is the heart (like in LMS
often, too), and the other features are using the CLI internally, too.
This should give identical behaviour for all use cases.

The limit I set is 200 tracks. But under certain circumstances it can be

Yes, totally agreed. It will fix the symptom, not the cause.
I assume as well that if players appear & disappear while the sync group
is assembled, there will be playback interruption.
I tried on my system as well and could not reproduce the issue,
although, from time to time, in a different context, I have some players
constantly going in and out, which is painful when using Shairtunes on
synced players. I've tried to find the cause, but was never able to
figure out. Probably some dropped STMt packet which cause LMS to think
that the player has been disconnected, all that due to WiFi/other part
of my network going nuts. It would do that for an hour or two every 30
seconds, then be fine for a week or a month. I usually end hitting the
main home switch with anger :)

Recently (i.e. since April) there have been a number of small fixes in
7.9.2 varying from fixing playlist re-start after power up to LMS
hangups with https - any of which could have been part of the problem
(i.e. same symptom but many possible causes). All together upgrading to

Knowing that the OP is the only one to see the problem, I think he has
by mistake statically linked players with the Group player

I can suggest, Michael, that you change Daemon.pmn in Start()

   $self->name($client->isSynced() ? Slim::Player::Sync::syncname($client) :
$client->name);

by

   $self->name($client->isSynced() && $client->model ne 'group' ?
Slim::Player::Sync::syncname($client) : $client->name);

I'll do that. Though I believe this will only "fix" the confusing
naming, but not the underlying issue of players (group or not)
disappearing and re-appearing - which does trigger the re-start of the
daemon (with varying names).

Thanks for looking into this.

Yes, I've seen that. It's odd, because M2P still have a prominent Allo

I just saw Michael's message about the old library. Evidently I do need

The android lock screen and notifications code is *very* hacky.
Basically I need to fool Chrome into thinking the web page is playing
audio. To do this I load a silent ogg file, get it to play and
immediately pause. This is the repeated every 15 seconds - which is why
you can see the play icon flicker from play/pause/play. If I don't do
this, the audio is in the paused state for too long (as I don't want to
actually play the file) and the controls disappear. I used to be able to
manually set the play/pause icon - but alas no more. Hence why when the
song is paused I add a pause icon next to the song title.

All that being said, my screen stays off and is not awoken by any of
this. Perhaps its Android version? I'm

As long I do not use the Spotify Connect API from "external"
