iPeng format is added: 300x300_f

I'm using the latest 7.9.2 nightly build. The strange thing is, it works
perfectly on material. And it works in iPeng for album artwork, just not
for artist photos. Anything else I can do?

You shouldn't need to fiddle with the Synology's internals. Just make
sure you updated it to the latest DSM. Then install pinkdot's 7.9.2

You are also correct in that they can be decompressed (to DSD encoded
dsf's) using sacd-extract, but this is the same tool that I would use to
re-extract from the original iso's - which I still have and which
contain metadata that can be included in the dsf's if I re-extract, but
which is lost in the dff's.

Thanks anyway and sorry to create off topic noise on the forum, as this

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2019-09-19 Thread pippin

If you run max2play I assume you are not using an LMS Version solder
than 7.8, right?
Does that happen the second time you load the images, too?
iPeng requests scaled artwork thumbnails also for artist images and
usually they are cached both server- and client side, but the first time
they need to be created by the server, first.

The MySB scaling has no effect here since the artwork images are first
downloaded locally to your server and MySB is only being used for
artwork downloaded directly from remote sites, like radio artwork,
Spotify artwork and such.

This sounds a bit like you are having issues with the artwork caching
although I don’t really understand why this might be an issue with the
local caching on the iPeng side, too.

Also, now that you’ve used iPeng you could also try a Clear of
your music library and maybe also clear the artwork cache (no idea how
you do that on max2play, though).
What usually happens is: the server pre-renders artwork thumbnails
during the scan (which also downloads the artwork images). It does that
using a number of known formats.
When you run iPeng the first time, iPeng adds its own format to this
list and then on consecutive scanner runs, the server will immediately
create the thumbnails needed for iPeng, too.
This speeds up the artwork handling a lo.

One thing some people were having issues with is a broken artwork cache
which essentially means every new image will have to be re-rendered all
the time or problems with thumbnail creation which means iPeng will
always load the full, unscaled image.

None of all the above works with 7.7.x-versions of LMS on which iPeng
has to use a slow, secondary process for loading the artist images and
no aching occurs.

First post in this thread, long time iPeng User though. Yesterday I
updated my LMS server to a Raspberry Pi 4 based on max2play beta for the
Pi 4. Everything works fine (and is fast!), except the loading of artist
pictures in iPeng, which is extremely slow. iPeng loads maybe 30 artist
pictures in 5 Minutes. In my library there's >1000 artist.

On material skin all artist pictures are instantly there.

The Music and Artist Information plugin is installed.

Activating / deactivating MySqueezebox.com Artwork Caching in iPeng
doesn't make a difference.

Where should I start with?

The list of views within "My Music" is controlled via LMS. Use the
default web UI, "Settings", "Player" tab, select "Additional Browse
Modes" from drop down menu. Within here you can control the items - and
"Random Albums" is in there. The previous selection (which had "More")
was hard-coded, and did not have all items. From 1.0 I'm *only* using
categories as supplied by LMS.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin

2019-09-19 Thread jacobacci

I noticed that the Qobuz LMS plugin seems to be plaqued by the Favorites
500 Album limit problem.
How to resolve it is described here by David Craff of Qobuz
https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/57126-500-titles-limit-on-audirvana-and-lms-apps/?tab=comments#comment-986891
Thanks a lot for a great plugin. It's worth its weight in gold.

@cpd73 Hi Craig. Firstly, I really appreciate all of your hard work on
this mod; the Material skin is fantastic and has made the LMS system
even more of a joy to use.. I love it!

However, as part of a recent update, the "More" menu has been dropped
from the Home screen, which has meant I can no longer find the "More >
Random Albums" library view I've become accustomed to using. Apologies
if this has been discussed before, I tried searching through your commit
history on Github and within this forum thread, but to date I've not
been able to find anything about it. To my knowledge this "50 random
albums" listing was unique to your skin, as I'd never come across it on
the default skin before, and I really enjoyed using it as it was a great
way to explore large collections.

Could you possibly explain why it was dropped and maybe what I could do
to get the "Random Albums" view back? I'm pretty sure I haven't disabled
any plugins or anything like that and it's just disappeared since I
installed the most recent version of your Material theme which changed
up the Home screen menu.

Many thanks!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] DSDPlaay: can't play dff files

2019-09-19 Thread Learnincurve

Feel a bit stupid here, but the reason the .dff's are not playing is
that they are compressed. It's quite a while since I put them there and
I had forgotten the workflow that produced them. Anyway, as I can't find
an easy way to uncompress them on Linux, or to play them as they are,
I'll just go back to the .iso stage and recreate the files as
uncompressed dsf.
