Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mixcloud plugin?

2019-11-28 Thread Paul Webster

I don't have time to look at it in detail today - but from a quick
glance I spotted a couple of things to look at.

Has mixclouddownloader changed their page layout - I don't remember a
banner asking for donations (that might be confusing the plugin).
I also saw what I think is an unusual field in the header of the m3u8
from MixCloud that referred to an encryption key.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 3.x - Spotify Podcasts on your Squeezebox

2019-11-28 Thread Michael Herger

I believed that the problem was with all podcasts - but it turns out
that the problem is with one (large in this country) publisher of
podcasts, where my favourite podcasts are from.

Ah... I did add _some_ logging for this very case, because I didn't know
what it might do with Spotty: there are some podcasts with a flag called
"is_externally_hosted". I wasn't able to find one to see whether it
would cause problems. Well, they do. You just pointed me to one such
podcast. The Spotify application wouldn't even allow me to transfer
playback of this podcast to a Spotty based client.

I'll see with the librespot guys whether there is anything we can do
about this.

Until then I'll have to skip such tracks/episodes :-(.

Good to hear. But I hope you’re forwarding 9000 in reality and not 80 as
LMS is usually on 9000. Or is macOS an exception?

Yes, Amazon thankfully imposes https on everything.

Other publishers work as expected. (I really don't know if all others
work - there are some to search through :) )

Is it possible that the problem is with the audio codec? I do not know
about Spotify's allowed codec settings, if there is any slack in how the
encoding+DRM is done)

The last entries are a list of 50 episodes that are skipped through
twice, before that there is 2 successful starts of podcasts from other
publishers.

I changed to normal bash shell but it still didn't work. (By the way,
Mac OS Catalina makes zsh shell the default.)

I concluded I must have cocked up somewhere along the way so I started
again with a different email address and I'm pleased to say it all went
OK.

For the record, I didn't run the disown command to establish the full
server path for skill-linking - I just ran 'ngrok http 80' to get it. It
reported 2 addresses: one http the other https. Only the https worked.

Now I can start playing with it!

Thanks.

Closing the loop on this...I had to do a couple things. First, I had to
go the Touch settings to display the "hidden" menu items. That brought
up the Extras setting menu that was previously not visible. Then I had
to reinstall the Custom Clock applet as it had been torpedoed during the
firmware update. After those steps SDT was visible in the screensaver
menu.

Thanks for the help!

Action #1:
I copied the 2x required dll files and exe program in a folder on a
separate laptop on the network (laptop is without LMS server; my LMS
server runs on an always-on NUC) and double clicked the exe file but no
XML file is generated and chromecast players do not appear in the LMS
interface.

Action #2:
On the NUC I entered the following destination in Windows File Explorer:
C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\CastBridge\Bin\squeeze2cast-win.exe
and hit enter.
This resulted in a terminal box opening that contained the following
information:

Is it possible to draw some conclusions from this?

I'm using LMS on a Mac and struggling to set this up.

I've followed the instructions on the help page:

1. Set up a free account with ngrok and downloaded it.
2. Connected my account using the authtoken.
3. Moved ngrok to local/usr/bin
4. Ran command (with my user credentials): ngrok http -auth
"user:password" 9000 > /dev/null 2>&1 &
5. Ran command: disown; curl -s http://localhost:4040/api/tunnels | grep
-Po https://.+?\.io and got:

'disown: no current job
zsh: no matches found: https://.+?.io
(23) Failed writing body'

My ngrok dashboard shows there are 2 Tunnels online both showing region
as 'us' but actually I'm in the UK. Same addresses - one is http the
other is https.

I ran command: ngrok http 80 and got:

'Your account 'x' is limited to 1 simultaneous ngrok client
session.

Active ngrok client sessions in region 'us':
- [authtoken] (xx.xxx.xxx.xxx)' (I've replaced the returned output).

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

It's definitely better to catch this kind of misconception at the
