I can run Wireshark with a filter on that port ... but what should I be

Maybe for some odd reason 6 seconds is not long enough in my set-up.
I was able to control this player from LMS web interface and start it

Paul,

I saw that thread, checked out Putty and WinSCP, but have no idea how to
use them. I can build a computer but I have never been good with
software; Autocad, Solidworks and various pcb layout programs were
difficult enough to learn for my job as a drafter and electro-mechanical
designer. And I am in my mid 70s with a failing memory and shaky hands
so I even have problems assembling computers now.

Thanks again,

I can see where a user could get confused: SLX discovers the server(s),
he selects one, then it says it can't find it. More than one person has
had this happen to them. I now have some test code working where SLX
will substitute the discovered IP address directly in the URL it feeds
the browser and telnet client rather than server name. SLX would only
substitute the Ip Address if it discovers it, otherwise will go with
user-entered host name. Should be transparent to the user. I have a
few scenarios to test, and I need to optimize a bit, but I expect this
to be included in the next version.

Again thanks for taking the time to post, I appreciate it.

Paul,

I looked around but did not find anything on SDT. And even then, not
being computer savvy, I might not be able to use anything that I might
find. I will have to wait for BoomX2 to do his thing on SDT since LMS 8
is working for me even though I am stuck with "Date/Time" on my screen.

And what fun would it be to stick with known working programs ;)?

Thanks for the reply,

Does this happen all the time or sometimes? I see in the first log that
the server never sent the message saying the squeezelite connected to
the server. Squeezelite uses port 3483, so that can't be blocked. Are
you able to run squeezelite-win.exe from the command line and see that
it connects to the server? In any case, I should handle the case where
a confirmation from the server is not received and more gracefully
handle that.

Discovery uses a protocol that will discover LMS servers on your local
network, but that does not necessarily mean the browser will be able to
resolve the server name's IP address. Sometimes issues on the local
network prevent that from happening. I once experienced this by giving
my LMS server (running on a R-Pi) a static IP address and eventually SLX
could no longer resolve the IP address by name. Don't know if that is
you issue or not, but it would not surprise me.

As it so happens the discovery protocol also returns the IP address of
the discovered server(s). I have though about changing or adding
additional code that would utilize the discovered IP address rather than
the name in the URL for the browser to use just to avoid this issue.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll see what I can do for next version.

But then you'd see the issue without the MAI plugin, too, wouldn't you?

I started up my LMS on Windows 10 after seeing this thread running 7.9.2
from last August. I only have one album on it which is a wav file with
cue file used to test some other issue. The album is a compilation and
the artists appear under All Artists but nothing appears under Album
Artists. If I install MAI then click on All Artists I see the artist
list but only two of the artists have images next to them. After this
LMS crashes and I have to restart the laptop to get it working again.

Hmm... I can't reproduce this. Just installed 7.9.3 on my W10 system and
it correctly displayed artist picture files.

from last August.

I have a git checkout. Just tried the public/7.9 branch - and presets
editor works in Classic and Material now. Thanks.

2020-01-16 Thread Michael Herger

@michael Material uses Classic skin for its settings pages. The Presets
Editor plugin has some javascript connected to the selection menu /
combobox next to each preset. The idea being that selecting an entry
fills in the relevant preset. However, this does not happen in Material
nor Classic.
Could you please try the latest builds? LMS8 should be ready for
download, 7.9 will be in a bit.

2020-01-16 Thread Michael Herger

The same thing happens in Webui.

But does this happen with any image, or can you narrow it down to one/some?

Also Ive found a quick way to crash the LMS server, just go to artist
information>pictures. This does not produce an entry in the LMS server
log but you get the same windows app log fault with module EV.DLL
I also did a rescan and downloaded all the artist artwork into a defined
folder. The scan worked fine but made no difference.

That's really odd, as the image resizing module has not changed in
years. I don't understand why it would start crashing :-(.

Is there anyway I can access previous builds of LMS, that way I can
narrow down when this started to happen? May 2018 seems a long time
ago.

No, I don't archive nightlies longer than a few days.

The crash only occurs if the picture is not cached locally and needs to
go online to retrieve it. I think the "image Not found error" in the LMS
server log is not the issue, I think LMS crashes when it finds an image
to download.

Do you have a folder for those images defined in the plugin settings?
Try to get an image for all artists in there.

Sorry, no. Its not a massive issue, so I guess you can just wait and

To all,

I installed the new nightly release of LMS 8 but found that SDT is not
supported. SDT is not offered as an option in "Player/Basic Setting" and
"Plugins" shows SDT unchecked with a message indicating that the current
SDT is not compatible with the new LMS version. Original Date/Time
plugin is still working.

Any one else with this problem?

I like seeing screenshots of other folk's stuff they're up to. How'd
you get Jivelite running? Further, how'd you get it running in a Window?

I'm very familiar with that interface because I've got Squeezeplay
running on all my other Windows Systems that I use as player's around
the house. 8 systems total. 3 are Android, 2 are Linux and 3 are
Windows. This project will retire 2 of the Windows units.

Many Thanks - I've just implemented Squeezelite-X this week in my Win10
PC to provide a third player in the house. Nice, especially in
conjunction with the material Skin. Great work @rgdawson (and @cpd73 for
contyributing the Material Skin)!

Just FYI - I noticed an odd quirk (it may already be covered previously)
with Host Name field in the application settings page. It correctly
identified both my LMS libraries by name, and had the correct ports for
them, BUT when you selected either of them it reported "-no LMS Library
Found-". Manually entering the NAS or Server IP address instead resulted
in it connecting fine and consequently it isn't issue as its all running
fine using IP library addressing.

(FWIW if relevant, my libraries are on a QNAP NAS (running QLMS), and a
Vortexbox Server).

Thanks for this suggestion and reminder! My MP3 collection is a HUGE
mixed up mess that needs to be seriously cleaned up and purged for
exactly the same reasons you just mentioned. Sadly, I've got an
increasingly nasty case of tinnitus that I've had since childhood, but
has gotten somewhat worse with the birth of my 2 kids in the last 5
years. Perhaps it's the screaming. Perhaps it's that I'm just turning
50. At any rate, it will be interesting to see, once I get these files
cleaned up/upgraded, if I'll be able to tell the difference between 128k
and something as delicious sounding as FLAC. However, I'm still holding
on to my vinyls. They're safely hidden away here at the house where no
meddling kids can find them. A couple more years of maturity in these
boys and I'll bust out the turntable and turn these boys on to some of
my gems like Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Mingus, and Monk... Maybe even
throw in some Allman Brothers, Deep Purple or ELO.

Then again... Spotify has 320k doesn't it... Makes me think about
deleting or at least seriously purging the MP3 directory.

Haven’t had a chance I’m afraid. Mega busy work wise and currently in
limbo with a git based LMS needing to change to v8.0 and no time to do

Is there a dev repo for 1.3? I’d rather not run git on 8.0 or on my

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin

2020-01-16 Thread ajs6000

Hi,

The same thing happens in Webui.

As a last resort I installed an early version of 7.9.2 (v7.9.2,
1527493162, Mon May 28 10:08:13 WEDT 2018) and all works ok again, all
pictures accessed via "artist information>pictures" download without
error.

So I reinstalled version v7.9.2, 1578996832, Tue Jan 14 12:09:46 WEST
2020 and "artist information>pictures" cause a crash again with the
fault caused by module EV.DLL

Is there anyway I can access previous builds of LMS, that way I can
narrow down when this started to happen? May 2018 seems a long time
ago.

The crash only occurs if the picture is not cached locally and needs to
go online to retrieve it. I think the "image Not found error" in the LMS
server log is not the issue, I think LMS crashes when it finds an image
to download.

No idea why it took so long but before adding the repo YouTube did not
appear under 3rd party plugins.

That's odd, YouTube plugin working fine here on 8.0.0, I edited the
install.xml file just as I did BBCiPlaterExtras.

Sorry I can't help.

After updating to LMS 8.0.0 I can't even see YouTube in Plugins. I even
added your repos and still can't see it. I was going to manually edit
the install.xml file as I did for BBCiPlayerExtras.

I am sorry: I had tested before posting and the Presets Editor worked
properly using the Default skin. However, I don't think I have ever used
the "Classic" skin before! I tested with that now and sure enough ...
the issue occurs with both LMS 7.9.2 and 8.0. In future testing I will
check with the Classic skin.

I learn something new every day, despite myself.

I assume LMS is running on a separate system somewhere. That being the
case, I assume you just start the process at boot. I know nothing at
all about macs, but this should help.

Hi Philippe I have achieved your plugin running smoothly on my mac. I
have searched and searched and searched all over the web to find the
script to automatically launch squeeze2upnp on my mac on boot. I can't

mandatory use of -z flag on the script. Can you or anyone in this forum
help me giving the script to me or at least give guidance of how to make
it on mac osx

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2020-01-16 Thread Michael Herger

@michael Material uses Classic skin for its settings pages. The Presets
Editor plugin has some javascript connected to the selection menu /
combobox next to each preset. The idea being that selecting an entry
fills in the relevant preset. However, this does not happen in Material
nor Classic.

Thanks! I'll look into this.

(what a pity we didn't see this before the 7.9.2 release :-D)
