Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 3.x - Spotify Podcasts on your Squeezebox

2020-02-25 Thread Michael Herger

Is there any specific port number or protocol I should look for?
Sometimes these blocked ports are not detailed enough on the router
configuration, so they may appear as "rules" to abstract specific IP
commands.

Ports used: 4070 (AP), 443, 80, 5353/UDP

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] No output Raspberrypi zero W with Google voicehat

2020-02-25 Thread gregfrye

I did the manual mixer settings in alsamixer then went to the web page
and saved the settings.

every time I reboot, the alsamixer settings are the same, but I have to
switch to the voice bonnet in alsamixer.

The diagnostics page always shows [ INFO ] Squeezelite Volume controls
as PCM.

Yes, to make SLX respond to the volume keys, while not in the
foreground, I would have to register it as a hot key. And then the
volume keys would only support adjusting the volume on the squeezebox
device and you would not be able to adjust the volume on your local
computer using the volume keys. I think most people would not want this
behavior. But I'll consider it adding this as an option.

Hi Paul

I posted this to the beta:picoreplayer6.0.0 pi4 forum but thought it was
getting lost with all the posts. I hope this is OK.

I am trying the 6.0.0 rc1 version. With the analog audio selected I can
choose hw:CARD=aiyvoicebonnet,DEV=0 as the output but there is no audio
output.

Thank you for all your work getting this to work.

I know... Very strange indeed. I haven't touched any firewall settings
in a long time, and certainly not blocked anything, but let me check
again, in case the internet provider has pushed any updates of the sort.

Thanks! Sounds good. I tested various alternative settings including
swapping the paths and leaving the MusicIP path empty and got the same
error messages in the log. I have to check the paths again. I think I
making one really stupid mistake here.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. It's a bit like Squeeze Ctrl on
android that offers to use the volume keys to change the volume of the
active squeezebox, even if the app isn't in the foreground.

SLX actually does not register the HotKeys for volume_up, volume_down.
It only registers the hotkeys for:

VK_MEDIA_PLAY_PAUSE
VK_MEDIA_PREV_TRACK
VK_MEDIA_NEXT_TRACK
VK_MEDIA_STOP

The volume keys always apply to the local device. I thought about the
volume keys before deciding that it would be better if SLX did not take
over those keys.

I suppose I could consider adding this as an option to also register
those keys for SLX, is that what you are looking for?

I have had FLAC interactive, regular mix, playing for about 3 hours this
morning, working fine, I am in the eastern US. I know that doesn't help
you, but wanted you to know that it's fine here.

Probably not incompatible as such but it's a case I haven't had time to
update the repository (many plugins so it takes time) and 8.* is a bit
"bleeding edge" so anybody trying could patch the install.xml to fix
this issue.

Thanks again, and here is the new log file:

Unfortunately I still can't find anything interesting in there. It
really looks like the daemon wasn't allowed to talk to the spotify
servers. Are you blocking any outgoing port on your router/firewall?
Anything else that changed in the past weeks since it still did work?

I achieved this by getting a Chromecast Audio and plugging this into the
line in, and using the WaveInput plugin. It works well, the Chromecast
sound can be played across the Squeezebox devices nicely.
