Since two or three days, my Squeezeboxes can't no more access to Qobuz.

Check your server.log file for any hint about the problem.

Would it be possible to add a command to 'zap' a song from the song's
context menu in the playlist?

(i.e. achieve what pressing and holding the + (add) button on the remote
control does - adds the song to a 'zapped' list that can then
forevermore be skipped over by e.g. Custom Skip).

Thanks. I'm on a wired network, though.

I managed to resurrect the "Rebuffering" thread I linked to earlier,
which had derailed into a discussion of "religion" - aka SQ, aka sound
quality, as in whether you really can hear the effect of the paint on
the walls of a concert hall if your kit is good enough, provided of
course you also have undirectional speaker wire. So I'll continue the
discussion there since nobody here seems to have had the rebuffering
problem. Thanks to all!

In my experience rebuffering is a network issue. Either too congested or
the wifi/WLAN signal of the player is too weak or a combination thereof.
Adding a wifi extender may solve the rebuffering problem. (In my case it
has meant that some of my players cannot get an IP address through DHCP
from my router, since the extender doesn't assign them, and I've had to
manually assign IP addresses. Not a problem for me and may not occur for
others. I'm mentioning it as FYI.)

Hi pinkdot,

Thanks for the reply, I think I may have been playing around with
'Daplile' when I used LMS before, so I assume it had a player in it.
I have uninstalled LMS from my nas now and instead am using their own
'Media Server' app - which seems to be working very well.
Prior to trying LMS this time I was using Minim server, but since the
last few updates it seemed to get a bit sluggish.

I don't have my PS audio anymore, it was the DirectStream Jr. - I'm now
using a Naim 272 which is a streamer/preamp.
I'll see how it goes with 'Media Server' for now.

Thanks for the info and help.

Kind regards
Roy.

I have edited the perl code as follows:

Code:

sub _format_request {
my $self = shift;

my $fullpath = $self->request->uri->path_query;
$fullpath = "/$fullpath" unless $fullpath =~ /^\//;

# Proxy requests require full URL
  # if ( $self->use_proxy ) {
  # $fullpath = $self->request->uri->as_string;
  # }

and restarted LMS. If I click on Radio 3 for example I now get the
following error: Failed to retrieve listing. (400 Invalid header
received from client)

Radio 1, with the edited default.opml still works.

Agree.

I'm pretty confident that a simple patch along the lines below would fix
it. But does require quiet study to be sure.

Untested:

Code:

A proxy is not used when https is in use. Hence the issue doesn't
arise.

Refer -Slim::Networking::Async::HTTP::use_proxy-

Need to think more about this but it's not going to be this week.

Quick response. If the issue is a LMS issue then LMS update is the fix.
Many users will not update their LMS to fixed LMS 8.* or 7.9.3 Can't
see any easy way out for proxy users.

You wouldn't need to remove it. This is all happening lower down, when
the actual "GET" request is built for sending to the server. That's done
by LMS.
The fragment suffix is of no relevance to a server, it only has meaning
locally. Which is what you are making use of.

Which usage was informing my earlier train of thought:

I believe we are seeing a "this server refuses to tolerate fragment
suffixes in a GET request" issue.

Can't remove the "#extra" with current BBCiPlayer/BBCiPlayerExtra
implementation.
It was added to overcome removal of API by BBC.
The "#extra" creates a unique response to the URL which LMS caches.
Without "#extra" LMS would see Extra menu for station as the same as
BBCiPlayer ones - which they are not.

bpa wrote:

I think I've found the problem. It's a "new LMS problem" in my view,
triggered by the use of a proxy server. "New", because I think
historically servers have tolerated an unnecessary fragment suffix in a
GET request. But perhaps the BBC Servers (and others ?) are becoming
less tolerant.

Code:

  In package Slim::Networking::Async::HTTP;

  sub _format_request {
my $self = shift;

my $fullpath = $self->request->uri->path_query;
$fullpath = "/$fullpath" unless $fullpath =~ /^\//;
  Yields /radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_ulster.xml
# Proxy requests require full URL
if ( $self->use_proxy ) {
$fullpath = $self->request->uri->as_string;
  Yields http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_ulster.xml#extra
  Which the BBC servers have decided to "choke" on

}

If @pshepherd were to adapt his -Slim::Networking::Async::HTTP- to strip
off a fragment suffix I'll hazard a guess that matters would proceed
smoothly.

My guess is that -HTTP::Request- handles this for us when it builds the
-path_query-. But the proxy request logic doesn't. Possibly the answer
is to have - _format_request- just strip any fragment suffix it may
find.

I don't have the problem, because, I think, I don't use a proxy server.

I haven't tried using https. That might be a different code path. Would
need to check how it works in the context of a proxy.

I have no problem with the "extra" URLs within the BBCiplayer plugin.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support

2020-07-28 Thread mrw

@pshepherd, @bpa

I believe that it is the inclusion of the fragment suffix -#extra- in
the GET request to the BBC Server that is causing the trouble. I'll
guess that the BBC servers perhaps no longer tolerate it.

Modern versions of -wget-, -curl-, and browsers seem to routinely strip
this off before sending the GET request.

I do not remember how LMS, or the relevant CPAN module(s) that it uses,
operates in this regard. However I have just scanned a wireshark dump of
a BBCiPlayer Extras fetch of the Radio 5 live availability schedule, and
there is no -#extra- fragment suffix in the URL sent by the GET request.
This is in contrast to @pshepherd's wireshark dump, which clearly does.
I have no explanation for the difference between us at present. I am
running LMS 7.9.3 on a Debian system.

It would need some more investigation to see precisely how LMS is
working. One point to note is that the URL that LMS caches content
against does include the fragment suffix, and this would be needed. But
I'm not sure what happens in detail lower down.

DNS does not seem to be the issue. I get identical/similar -dig- results
as does @pshepherd. I am in the UK.

You can test the point using netcat. (Troublesome, needs a couple of
presses of the enter key to make it work).

Works without the fragment suffix:

Code:

  netcat -C www.bbc.co.uk 80
  HEAD /radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_three.xml HTTP/1.0

My ISP is Zen but I normally use 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 as a backup to
dnsmasq.

I am not currently using a VPN (see below) and don't see the additional
gtm/AWS entries in dig queries. I don't have anything about bbc.co.uk
in local config files for dnsmasq or privoxy. They are both vanilla
installs with minimal customisation, privoxy config does have some
references to the bbc but that is to expressly allow access. I have
also run dig using @8.8.8.8 which presumable removes any local s/w from
the equation and get the same result.

I just configured a new raspberry pi, plugged it into my router so
avoiding any possible dnsmasq/privoxy detritious and see the same info
as my previous post, https://pastebin.com/2tH7AX2F

Interestingly I do have a VPN server configured on a DigitalOcean
droplet in Frankfurt - so out of interest I started a Mint VM and saw
the truncated dig response as above, however when I routed this VM
through the VPN I then saw the full dig response as per your post ;) Not
sure what to make of that, a bit outside my knowledge envelope.

EIther way, I guess it's not a BBCiPlayer problem, I shall investigate
...

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, if all info in threads was a bit confusing, installing LMS
changed over the last months.

Forget about LmsRepack if you do a fresh install of LMS. Just follow the
first steps of the first post, which basically tells you to add the repo
URL to Package Center and install Logitech Media Server like any other
package.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages

2020-07-28 Thread enz01

Sigh, my 10-year old Vortexbox has finally given up the ghost so my
music library is temporarily playing through VLC, and my 2 Booms are
silent. The good news is that I have a Synology DS220+ on order and it
appears that I can install LMS8 on it and get my Booms back on line.
However, the Synology OS is brand-new to me and I’m currently on a
fairly steep learning curve. That being the case, I’m a little confused
by the instructions here as to how to install LMS8 (especially since
Synology no longer seem to have an ‘official’ Logitech package in their
list) and hope someone can help me out.

In post #1, the instructions state that Perl must be installed before
LMS8. However, the instructions in #115 make no mention of the Perl
install and simply talk about sourcing and installing the LMS package.
Similarly, post #1 seems to indicate that I require a specific package
(x86_64 in the case of a DS220+) and elsewhere there seems to be an
implication that I need to specifically pick this up from the
-sourceforge -repository and sideload it into Package Centre. Lastly,
even after reading the entire 7.9.2 and 8.0 threads(!), I’m confused by
the relationship between LmsUpdate and LmsRepack

If someone could summarise the required install steps on a brand-new
Synology NAS (DS220+ in my case) that would be great. I don’t need to
know which buttons to press (I’ve been playing around with Synology’s
DSM simulator and am reasonably happy with using Package Centre), just
what needs to be installed, from where and in which order.

Grateful thanks for all thoughts and comments. I’m really looking
forward to getting my SQ environment back up and running and am
especially grateful to pinkdot and everyone else who have worked so hard
to keep SBS/LMS alive

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin

2020-07-28 Thread Pelardon

Hello,
Since two or three days, my Squeezeboxes can't no more access to Qobuz.
The plugin seems fine, I can browse through Qobuz menus, favorites and
so one, I can add album to the list BUT the song never play. 10 secondes
after beginning and silence, it skips to the next one, alert : can't
access to the the next track, skip the next etc. With no sound at all.
The LMS and boxes work fine with my own library ; BandCamp and
SoundCloud work OK ; it's just Qobuz streaming (CD quality)
I am on MacOS High Sierra, I have installed the LMS 8.0, reboot all my
equipment including livebox, and even attributed static IP addresses to
my squeeze boxes.

Does anyone face the same issue ?
Thanks for help, if help is possible. People from Qobuz staff are not
very LMS friendly, if I remember my previous experiences…

Cordially yours,
JBP

Great news. Yeah, I did notice that my version is pretty recent. By the
way, it's still working fine since I changed those NIC settings. Thanks

Actually, you Luddites get your updates first, haha, because you do not
have to wait for the certification and publishing process that the Store

Will you be updating the version that's available as legacy installer
from time to time so us Luddites can enjoy some of the new
improvements?

Actually I think I've found a solution to the rebuffering problem -
'right here on the forum'
(https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?87973-One-cause-of-rebuffering-on-the-Touch).
I went into *Properties -> Advanced* for my network adaptor and changed
the *Link Speed & Duplex* setting from *Auto negotiation* to *1 Gb Full
Duplex* and so far haven't had an interruption.

Thanks for your excellent work on this and for your willingness to help
us all. It's been a godsend for me.

All the best,
