If you can tell me how to do it. - Sure! I feel right at home in my browser's dev tools. - No. I use Spotify Connect. - No need for more options. I'm overwhelmed already. - I eat cookies for breakfast. But what's a browser got to do with it? Interesting question. I would be quite happy to extract a cookie but Im not sure about Spotify as a long term service. Although they lead the way so far as library size is concerned there seems to be very little interest (if any) in upping their beyond the current 320 Kbps offering. Im not one that thinks my ears are capable of discerning 24/192 but I can easily tell the difference between Spotify and say Qobuz 16/44.1 FLAC. I currently subscribe to both Spotify and Qobuz. If one is going its Spotify not Qobuz. To me LMS and the ecosystem has always been a hifi product and not just a multi room general sound system. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] squeezelite not working on RPI4 if started as service
Thanks! I am real impressed by the instant and fantastic support you have provided. Things are now working properly. Things I had to do: * Swap debian package from squeezelite-pa to squeezelite * Manually set the output device to sysdefault:CARD=Headphones At the moment I use the -a 80:::0 setting. Not sure if that is the best but with limited testing it sounds like my previous 80:4. When I have set this up on previous RPI (and with older versions of everything) I only needed to install the package. I previously used the squeezelite-pa to allow for co-existance with other sources. Perhaps it is possible to make specify the correct output device when using the squeezelite-pa version. /Björn bjmed's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70518 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112737 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Artist or genre based radio?
Hi, would it be possible to develope a artist or genre based radio for the currently played track e.g. with LastMix and /or the DSTM plugin? I know that there is such a feature for Spotty, but its based only on the mixes Spotify is creating. It would be cool to have a more generic aproach that is also available for Qobuz or tidal and where the mixes are created by LastMix. Can this be build with LastMix and / or DSTM? If yes, I'd take a look and try to improve my little Perl knowletge to implement such a feature..., or is this feature already available and I have not understood how to activate or use it? I've updated Plugin.pm to output the LMS genre IDs from configured and Christmas genres when LMS is started. If genre filtering is in place, the plugin will also log the candidate track's genres to the log. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty Extreme quality (320kbps) does not work seamlessly
I am running LMS on that same Pi. Does it make difference? Does it need more CPU power or Memory? Any way I have ordered a RPi4(2GB). It should be fine. I was only concerned about your memory: I'm running LMS on pCP, too, but it overall uses less than 300MB. 500MB are caches etc. What other plugins are you using? -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] squeezelite not working on RPI4 if started as service
Could anything else be using the same audio device ? (e.g. desktop audio) Enable logging for squeezelite (may have to redirect message into a file when run as a service - I don't know) to see if it is producing an error message ? Just to clarify point in post #1 about "-pa" and pulsemixer. Normally, pulseaudio is setup for sharing audio amongst processes under the same parent process (i.e. per user basis) or share audio over network connections and not systemwide. Service will run under a different parent than desktop or login - was pulse audio setup system wide ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112737 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] squeezelite not working on RPI4 if started as service
Hi Bjorn I installed Raspberry PI OS Desktop (32bit) on a rpi4 b (4GB) using the RPI Imager tool https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspberry-pi-imager-imaging-utility/ Updated the OS, plugged a lead into the headphone jack, and selected Analog as output Used Chromium to check that it worked, went to the fip radio main page and got no music, rebooted and tried again, it worked with volume set at 100%, I used Alsamixer to set the volume at 0db. Installed Squeezelite from the Apt repository > > Menu > Preferences > Add / Remove Software > Squeezelite in the search > box, selected Alsa version Checked that it worked from my LMS install, went to Settings > Player > Audio > set output volume to 100%. No sound. On the pi I opened a terminal Code: aplay -L and choose > sysdefault:CARD=Headphones which I added to Code: sudo nano /etc/default/squeezelite 31256 "-C 5" stops Squeezelite hogging the output if not selected as a player Rebooted and tested it played OK I enabled SSH and VNC server and followed the insructions here to install Open CPN http://https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=opencpn:opencpn_user_manual:getting_started:opencpn_installation:raspberrypi_rpi2 I got this Code: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get install opencpn Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package opencpn is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package 'opencpn' has no installation candidate So I left it there, as I have no boat, not even a rubber duck :) Good luck ronnie +---+ |Filename: downunder.png| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=31256| +---+ Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112737 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

This, to me, makes no sense. Yeah the next seed having a genre found in the group would be a problem. I'll just turn off restrict genres. If you do no want this, disable the restriction. I dont want a checklist, as I dont want to reconfigure each time I create a mix. To me, the beauty of DSTM is that after I have selected a mixer, it just kicks in when required - no further tinkering. p.s. Did you try the Musly mixer? Just interested to see what you thought. Its not as developed as this, as I didn't think the mixes were as good. *Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. I've changed this non-genre group into a 'soft filter'. The tracks are initially removed, and if there are too few left then some of these would still get used. Better? *Material debug:* 1. This, to me, makes no sense. I'd like to chime in here with an observation regarding this filtering. To me what makes MusicIP so much better than just about any other way of auto-generating mixes is what you seem to want to circumvent: the genre independence. Fingerprinting and mixing is based on acoustical characteristics of a song, not on its genre. To me this makes perfect sense: a singer with an acoustical guitar is a singer with an acoustical guitar regardless of whether he's a folk singer, a metal singer doing an unplugged session, ... If it sounds similar (and you can tweak the desired degree of similarity) it belongs together, otherwise you could just use the default random mix plugin and do the genre filtering there as randomly selected songs restricted to e.g. "Power Metal" will usually give a balanced mix.
