AFAIK there's nothing cached between LMS versions that would affect
Sprocket.

Just to be clear, you can logout from the preferences and log back in
without incident, correct? The problem only comes when accessing the
service? The preference shows you as logged in?

I'll work to add logging to the relevant sections, that's probably the
only way to see what's happening, but it may be a a week or more before
I have a chance to look at it.

Ok... for me there is absolutely no way to prevent the skips after 3 or
4 minutes... tried it with or without ogg enabled, tried it with or

Are you sure it's not Windows going into power savings mode?... I'd
expect many more reports if there was a fundamental issue.

Hi,
I have a number of text files and html files stored alongside my music
files. They detail things about the artist that is particular to me (ie.
dates, places I've seen them, gigs where I have performed with them,
photos etc.).

I can view this info using the MAI plugin, selecting "text files from
music folder" for the artist I'm interested in, then a list of text/html
files is displayed, clicking on them displays the data. Well almost,
I've noticed that it works fine if I am running a web GUI (default or
material skin) from a browser. However running from SLX (default or
material skin) I am presented with a blank screen when I select any text
or html file.

Even stranger, I have one windows 10 machine where it does work OK, but
all my other machines just display a blank screen. I've only just
noticed this because the machine I use most often with SLX is the one
that happens to work!

So it makes me think it's a setting somewhere that is different between
the machines, or I have to install something on the other machines to
make it work?

Any ideas, anyone seen something similar? All machines are running
Win10, SLX 2.7.7, LMS8.0

Maybe I'm misunderstanding. By Filter Out, i meant *only* for testing
the item count, not for what you present in terms of the listed items on
the LHS.

In other words, if the filtered list contains > 0 items, present the Add
All Items button.

Otherwise, do not present the Add All Items button.

In either case, present the original list on the LHS (not a filtered
list).

Would it be possible to first filter the /Listen as/ items out of

Material hides the 'All Songs' entries - as I do not like them. For
local browsing 'All songs' is in the subtoolbar, but for apps its
hidden. The add-all/play-all buttons, for me at least, replace the need
for this.

MrC wrote:

So, you show an album with 2 tracks? The add-all/play-all is hidden if
there are less than 3 tracks. Hence, why on this example they are not
shown. The reason for requiring more than 2 tracks is that Bandcamp has
lots of lists with just "Listen as pocast" and "Listen as songs" - and
I did not think add-all/play-all was useful here.

First of all - BIG thanks to philippe_44 for this great plugin!
I'm used to use it with Chromecast Audio and connected the Google Home
Mini today.
I wanted to replace my old Squeezebox Radio with this Mini, using it
only for casting and speaker, but I've found one issue. Everything works
as I expected, but if I disconnect and reconnect Mini from power I need
to restart the plugin.
It won't work without the restart.
I can start the playback using LMS, no sound, click on restart and after
2 seconds the music plays.
Do you have any idea how to solve this?

The stock web skin shows an All Songs item for the BandCamp plug-in.
This is very useful, esp. for albums with many tracks.

Material is missing this menu, and that makes adding an album much more
work:

Any chance this could be added?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X

2020-11-10 Thread rgdawson

Version 2.7.7 Has been submitted to the Store.

Changes

- Updated to latest version of squeezelite (as described in previous
post). Native WMA support in player is no longer supported, however
you can still play WMA files using the PlayWMA plugin (if needed).
Still includes older version of player you can enable in debug options
  if necessary.
- Updated version of Chromium Embedded Framework.
- Fixed potential shutdown error due to risky logging during shutdown
- You can now select a specific player for Media Key application
- Tray/Custom Menu size slightly bigger, more touch friendly
- Drop down menus use color

Note: I think this will be last version that supports Windows 7.

fingerprinted and tagged before with the Windows version, only a rough
quarter of them is listed as 'mixable songs' but MusicIP import in LMS
is possible for all of these songs. Any suggestions are appreciated...

Yes, I got through a recording of Beethoven 9 (4 tracks, just under 1
hour total) without it skipping.

Great - this seems to work. Like you say, Skip to the Start is probably
the most useful feature which I hadn't even realised existed!

Laptop won't necessarily be better or worse but it will allow 24/192
over HDMI so Qobuz Hi-Res will work. Given that your DAC will be doing
the Digital to Analogue conversion you may be surprised at how good it
does sound though.

1 min skip back is not worthwhile doing - the plugin thinks less than 1
mins is just a delay by BBC. This was done because timestamp of audio
packet being played can be delayed by BBC.

Change skip back to say 5 mins and then skip forward to 30 secs or 1
min. It is easier to overshoot backward and then edge up forwards.

I found the "M" thanks - never noticed it before.

Using Squeezer on Android which is a bit easier, skip back still doesn't
seem to go back more than once (nor on IE). Frankly I am not quite sure
what it does after the first skip back. However the "Skip back to start"
does work as expected!
I have now set skip back/forwards to 2 / 1 mins respectively. If I go to
the beginning of the program, then skipping forwards seems to jump
either 2 or 3 mins (rarely 1 minute as expected), but at least it does
work. Skipping back seems a bit random, not sure what it is doing or
even that the time delay indicator is correct. Sometimes it seems to
skip back as expected, sometimes it seems to actually go skip forwards!

It should skip more than once.
On "Live " you can skip back usually up to about 3 hours. Most typical
use is to "skip back to start of program" - which for a Radio 3 concert
can be about 3 hours.

Would it be the case that a laptop as a player instead of a Duet would
produce better sound? Or hard to tell?

Right now I have a Toslink connection to the DAC, so maybe HDMI will be
an improvement in and of itself.

Although as with all things audio, one can never be sure until actually
making the change.

No. 127.0.0.1 means "This computer" or "localhost" - if you used
http://localhost:9000 on that machine it would also work.

You will need the actual IP address of the PC
Run a command prompt and type ipconfig and press enter - the number
against Ipv4 Address is the actual IP address given to the PC by your
router using DHCP

You will need to give the PC that runs LMS a static address - so it
doesn't move IP address when you reboot and you can always address it
the same way

You either do that inside control panel - but I have no W7 machine to
tell you exact steps - or by configuring a DHCP reservation in your
router (always give this PC this address).

before you start squeezelite have the laptop connected to DAC and DAC
on
you should then be able to set the default audio output to be the
DAC/HDMI - set it at 50% volume to start with

the squeezelite command I put earlier will use the default audio device
- I have just successfully started it with my default audio set to an
HDMI monitor (sounds crap as it has tinny speakers) but proves it will
work

My advice is just go for it - the sound quality will be superb

You will be able to control via

Web Gui - http://yourlmsip:9000 - any PC
Material - http://yourlmsip:9000/Material - highly recommended on any
device / PC.

The BIG advantage of Material is that it will work on your phone or

Actually although no gui squeezelite is easier - by defualt it will use
the Windows default audio driver so set as HDMI in control panel.

Download it and place into a new folder c:\squeezlite

The exe is named squeezelite-x32 or x64

Run it initially from a command prompt inside c:\squeezlite with

squeezelite-xXX -s 10.0.0.11 -n "W7 Laptop"replace XX with 32 or 64
and replace 10.0.0.11 with IP address of your LMS server

let it through your firewall

You will see a new DOS box open don't close it.

Go to LMS web gui and you should find "W7 Laptop" listed as a player

Play something

You can then configure a desktop shortcut to start it minimised or use
Windows Task scheduler to start it silently on boot up.

So is there a way to get the "context menu" on my Windows IE browser
that I use to control LMS on my PC? Right clicking just brings up IE's
context menu. Or am I a bit out of date using IE!?

I can get Skip back to work on Squeezer on my Android devices, although
it seems it will only skip back once. So as I currently have the skip
back time set to 1 minute, I can go a maximum of 1 minute back. Is that
right?

I haven't tried Material, but now that I know it exists, I will :-)

I'm a bit confused -- with the W7 laptop temporary set up, would I be
controlling the music selections, etc through LMS on my main desktop,
just like now? Or via squeezelite/material from the laptop, or from the
desktop?

For a while now I have no Band Camp under My Apps.

Plugin settings show this:

Go to Settings/Advanced/Bandcamp instead.

Is this the literal error message you get?

You should be able to recover by shutting down LMS and removing
bandcamp.db from your cache folder.

Not really but I have never used squeezeplay with HDMI - it should pick
it up as a valid Windows audio device.
You will need to allow either through Windows firewall and if you aren't
using the Windows native firewall but some other Anti Virus software
with built in firewall it can be fiddly to set up.
The config file for squeezeplay get written somewhere a bit odd IIRC and
can be difficult to find if you need to reconfigure it but Ralphy will
tell you where if you need to find it.

If you were to choose squeezelite then you can control it on your laptop
using Material skin - you have tried Material I hope.

Thanks for the amp volume warning. I'll probably shut the entire system
down to install the laptop into the chain, including the HDMI into the
DAC, and then power up the system.

I would generally prefer a GUI over line command, unless squeezelite has
advantages over squeezeplay. Any opinion on that?

Yes and yes.
Just be careful with the volume levels on your amp and have the HDMI
connected when you first start squeezelite / squeezeplay as you will
need to tell the software what audio hardware you are using.

I'm in Santa Monica, California.

So to start, I will basically just put a Pi where the Duet is now, and
attach via HDMI to the M51 DAC?

(And temporarily before I even get the Pi set up, I can just right now
go stick the laptop where the Duet is, attach to the DAC via HDMI, and
use appropriate software on the laptop to serve to the DAC?)

This additional info is great. I will go through and try to understand
it.

Not having a Windows PC in the chain would definitely be a positive.
The laptop would just be temporary until I get the Pi project set up.
(I do plan to upgrade my desktop computer from Windows 7 to 10, so would
probably upgrade the laptop as well.)

I don't have a LAN near the HiFi. I used to run a Cat 7 30 foot cable
from my router (attached to the desktop I work on and which has my music
files currently) to the Duet in the room with the HiFi. Then I switched
to WiFi.

Yes you could use a Windows 7 laptop with HDMI or with a USB cable - the
latter is likely to work without any fiddling but in either case may
need to be permanently attached or you could find yourself having to
power off the DAC every time you connect.
You would need to install either squeezelite (command line player) or
squeezeplay (has a GUI) or a windows app (from the app store) called
squeezelite-x
The first 2 are maintained by user ralphy and you can find at -
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclients/files/
The latter is available from the Windows app store but you may need W10
for it
However W7 is no longer supported so if you a serious about digital
music and LMS then go the Pi route - it uses hardly any power so can be
permanently on and can be both a player and a server - once you have
gone that way you will not look back.
You will sit on the couch and control your playlist from a phone or
tablet using the Material skin plugin with no Windows PC in the chain.

Your music files would be on a USB disk attached to a Pi acting as
server which could be wired to your router with another Pi as a player
behind your HiFi or you could site a single Pi as player/server behind
your HiFi - if it is a server it is much better if it is cabled and has
a fixed IP address.

Alternatively if you have a NAS you can keep your files there and point
the Pi server at it.

First question. Have you got LAN near the HiFi?

Now that I understand it a little better, a question that arises is, can
I temporarily use a Windows 7 laptop that has hdmi, in place of the Pi4?

I'm not sure what could be going wrong here. All SimpleLibraryViews does
is add an entry into the library_track table for each track id that
exists within a particular library view. Everything else is down to the
main SlimServer code displaying them.

Wonder if @mherger has any thoughts?

New version 2.0.0 includes

- Times Radio Live Station with On Air data and images
- 7 Day catch up now also has the correct meta data

If you have added the live Times Radio station as a favourite/preset
from elsewhere (e.g. tunein), add the one from the plugin to get the on
air meta-data when playing.

Skip forwrad & back of a live stream is only supported for DASH.
After I had implemented ffw & rew of a live stream, I trialled had a
version of the plugin which used >> & << to do the action.
However user feedback was that it was confusing as >> & << buttons were
used for other LMS function which couldn't be reconciled - so skip
forward & back was put back into context menu.

Have you tried using the context menu? I have never used the << or >>
buttons.[image:

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz output on LMS says 96 but my DAC says 44.1

2020-11-10 Thread d6jg

https://sites.google.com/site/picoreplayer/home/List-of-USB-DACs

If you do a search (Ctrl+F) of the spreadsheet for "NAD M51" you will
find a very recent entry for it on 9/11/20 which very encouragingly
says

"It's possible to output to the M51 at hi-rez using the HDMI port (HDMI
audio: & sysdefault:CARD=ALSA) without an on-board DAC. Sounds as good
if not better than the HiFi Berry DAC on the Coax output."

You just need a 2GB Pi4, a nice case, and SD card and a decent
powersupply and install piCorePlayer.
If you have a LAN port near the Hi-Fi then there is hardly any config to
be done.
If not you will have to temporarily conenct via LAN elsewhere then
config the Pi for your WiFi network before moving it to your Hi-Fi.
It really is easy.

Just a quick thank you for this plugin. It's working great on my nightly
of LMS 8.0. I couldn't find the Bandcamp login cookie in Safari but it
can be found in Chrome.

Sorry. No workaround in LMS for that.
I run the Qobuz app on my iPhone, do the search and add the playlist as
a favourite through that. It is then instantly available in LMS.
I'm sure its also on @Michael's list :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

Sorry for my lack of knowledge on IGMP, but what does this mean - should
we disable the IGMP function on the router for best performance of the
UPnpBridge? Or we should somehow adjust the IGMP settings regarding
snooping?

I had some problems with the bridge a long time ago, and I think
enabling IGMP on the router helped (as per your advice to check IGMP
settings). But I think I changed a few more settings of the router
then.
Though, now sometimes the songs only start to play after a delay and not
from the start of the song, so there is a pause of silence in the
beginning of every song (as I have described in an earlier 'post'
As mentioned, this does not happen frequently and restarting the plugin
solves the issue temporarily, so I can live with this.

But if this could be solved permanently by changing some settings of the
router, it would be great.
Though, there are not many settings for IGMP on my router - I can only
toggle the IGMP and select it's version (between IGMPv2 and IGMPv3,
IGMPv2 is currently selected), also I can toggle and select the version
of MLD, which is used for IPv6, but probably it shouldn't affect the
bridge.
Also there are settings for UDPXY, which is currently disabled. "UDPXY
is a UDP-to-HTTP multicast traffic relay daemon: it forwards UDP traffic
from a given multicast subscription to the requesting HTTP client."

Maybe someone who understands these things better than me could give an
advice on how to configure them for best use with the bridge?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] iPlayer skip forward/backwards doesn't work

2020-11-10 Thread rbl

I'm running iPlayer 1.6.9 on a Raspberry Pi4 running LMS 7.9.2 -
1578996832.

If, listening to say BBC Radio 4 live, I press << it just goes back
about 1 second, and >> goes forward about 1 second (I think) .

On listen again, clicking on the progress bar works as expected, but <<
and >> is similar to the above.

iPlayer Settings:
- DASH->HLS->MP3->FlashAAC
- Use highest bitrate
- Minutes to skip: 1 minute
- allow transcoding: enabled
- show OnAir Text: enabled
- Live text: Bottom line
- Seconds to delay start live stream: 5s
- buffer fullness: 255

I have three wired SB3s.

Any ideas? I don't think this has ever worked in the many years that I
have used iPlayer.
