Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Reliable plugin for resilient HTTP connections
Just an update since my last post. Really just informational, but may be of some use to others. This relates to the issue of podcasts (never music) played through the Spotty app dropping after 9-14 minutes. My LMS server is a ECS BAT-MINI2 commonly know as a LIVA X. It uses an Intel Celeron N2808 @ 1.58GHz CPU, has 2 GB RAM, and a 29GB SanDisk DF4032 (SATA SSD) on the motherboard. Its running Window 10 Pro 64 bit Version 20H2. I added a 250GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD to a mSATA slot on the motherboard to store my music files. Except for this one issue, it has been running various versions of LMS flawlessly for almost five years, currently LMS 8.1.0-1607151260 with Spotty 4.4.5 and Reliable 0.18.1. It is connected via cable to my main router providing internet connectivity. Thinking that this device may have some corrupted software or flaky hardware, I built an identical LIVA X. Same issue with the podcasts dropping occurred. I then installed LMS, Spotty, and Reliable on a bit more modern Dell OptiPlex desktop and a Dell latitude laptop running Windows 10 64 bit with the same results. Podcasts dropped after 9-14 minutes. I installed LMS, Spotty, and Reliable on a Raspberry Pi 4 B running the latest version of Raspbian and it worked perfectly. No dropping. I installed the latest version of SparkyLinux on the LIVA X from above with LMS, Spotty, and Reliable and it also worked perfectly. No dropping. At this point, I guess my best solution is to move my server to Linux. I don't feel bad about that at all. Thanks to all who weighed in on this and tried to help. There you can define additional players that would be connected to extra sound cards, presumably sending music to another room. So, you could add sound cards to drive other zones. I don't recall any discussion using surround channels on the same card, though. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify only plays first six minutes of a track then skips to next track in album
As thread title. Ever since I've been using Spotty on my SBT, if an album track is longer than about six minutes, it only plays the first six minutes or so, then skips to the next track. It doesn't happen every time, but it only ever skips on longer tracks, never anything under 6 minutes. I didn't use Spotify much before, but now with LMS 8, and the excellent Spotify integration, I'd like to use it a lot more if it wasn't for this issue. Any ideas? However, what should be the criteria to add a plugin/applet to that repository file ? Is it enough if someone has successfully installed it on 8.0 or does someone have to confirm that they have used the plugin functionality on 8.0 or do you want multiple users to confirm that they have used the plugin functionality on 8.0 ? Just asking because its a bit different situation when you cant expect the developer(=me) to help troubleshooting or fix bugs, so some people might not want to risk upgrading unless multiple people confirm that a plugin actually works. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin
2.7.0 is a feature release, it includes : NEW FEATURES: - Tracklists are now available in the play menu, selecting a track starts the stream at the point (the BBC says) the track is in the programme. - A rather neat feature added in a 'pull request' (https://github.com/expectingtofly/LMS_BBC_Sounds_Plugin/pull/46) by forum member 'mavit' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?10203-mavit) . If you have a BBC url for a programme (eg https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000q3pg or https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000q3pg ) this feature allow you to add it to the play list using Material's "+" "add url to queue" button or "Tune In URL" in the classic skin and it will be automatically converted into a Sounds playlist item. This requires LMS 8. BUG FIXES: - Fixed an issue preventing some streams not playing outside of the UK It's in the Beta repository now. It will be available in the standard repository at the next central refresh (which I think is at around 6:30 PM UK time.) expectingtofly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63263 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hello Philippe. So, i´m trying to use the plugin with UAPP as a renderer on my Smartphone. Everything seems to work right but there is one (major) thing that is not working... I can play all sample rates but 44khz does not play :( It´s very strange. I can play 192khz, 96Khz but no 44khz?? I play 192Khz 24bit with no problem... Dont know what to do as i already tried some things like setting max sample rate to 192 but no good.. Thanks a lot for your help :) BBPlex2020's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71031 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
I'm coming back to LMS (8.0.0) after a long absence and it's really working well with the server on an i5 hackintosh and two rpi players using picoreplayer software (pi zero w and rpi4). For a long time I have wanted to stream music collection from Google Drive and File Stream and adding folders to LMS, this is working 100%. Everything is on Wifi. I was wondering though if anyone can help me get Shairtunes up and running better so that the rest of my household can enjoy the setup? Ideally my family could use apps on their phones and pick Airplay endpoints. I have it all set up but when playing there are a usually drop outs and stuttering. I have started to monitor the log files on "Warning" and it just got erased but the messages were "Start Silence" and "on hold for too long". I have changed the settings to transcode to MP3 and increased http to 3000 but this doesn't seem to help much. If it's any help I also have problems with streaming from a Spotify app using Spotify Connect (but Spotty is pretty rock solid). aftermast's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71030 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes I think that is how I did the upgrade. Good luck. There was one plugin (not listed) of Erlands that would not install, I forget which one. The main ones like multilibrary, dynamic playlist , custom clock and trackstat work fine and I use quite freqently. Note with custom clock any URLs in the player configuration will probably no longer work. Yeah, I know of that - but that (AFAIK) lists all files, not just images. I -could- filter by extension, but that's prone to error. Direct access to "Local artwork" would be better. I would have to apply the same filtering by extension. Very interesting about PI, I've done a little research around here. - Could you just tell me if I can run smoothly LMS 8.0 + Spotty on a PI 3 running pCP? Fully understood. Besides, after giving it a thought, I suppose multiple other plugins would have similar issues when running in bridge mode, so the problem will likely only be solved for this particular case. I can live with it, used Raspberries abound and one mode in my farm isn't that much of an issue. Thanks for all your work !
