@EHJONES Because pCP 7 does not work on my rpi1b I have reverted to raspberry PI OS Lite on my old "turtle". It has the Cirrus Logic Dac fitted. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite on rPi 3 suddenly not working
Sorry to go on about this. I'm not sure where else I can discuss this! I've had a recurrence of the problem - squeezelite not working on an rPi3 running upgraded Raspbian Lite 10.7 regardless of any option switches. How I can reproduce it: 1. A fresh flash of Raspbian Lite 32-bit, release 2021-01-11. 2. $ sudo apt install squeezelite and it works exactly as expected with no need to specify an output. 3. $ sudo apt update && apt upgrade -y 4. After a reboot into the new kernel squeezelite no longer outputs audio. It appears to run and LMS can see it. Running with the switch -d infoIt uses resources on the rPi3 (as displayed by $ top) but no audio plays, and FWIW nothing is output via the visualisation data file in /dev/shm/ $ uname -a before the upgrade: Linux raspberrypi 5.4.83-v7+ #1379 SMP Mon Dec 14 13:08:57 GMT 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux $ uname -a after the upgrade: Linux raspberrypi 5.10.11-v7+ #1399 SMP Thu Jan 28 12:06:05 GMT 2021 armv7l GNU/Linux I can't find any other reports of this being an issue, so I'm at a bit of a loss. At least I have a temporary workaround in the meantime. Any input, thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated, thank you. $ squeezelite -d all=info before upgrade: https://pastebin.com/VQ5qFyry $ squeezelite -d all=info after upgrade: https://pastebin.com/ykWnTVm7 $ cat /var/log/apt/history.log https://pastebin.com/NYFHgeew ehjones's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5218 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113867 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Having just tried it, I can now confirm that I've been quickly converted! I actually still prefer the Default interface when using Windows, and hadn't twigged that I could have a best of both worlds. But I can! With the Material Skin plug-in and the app, I now realise what everyone else was raving about. I think Squeezer may no longer darken my door! That's great news. Looking at the log file, it looks like it was just failing to connect to the bbc and timing out. I've been unable to get any programs to play on BBC Sounds running on a Synology LMS. Given that I know that isn't supported anymore, I have set up a Raspberry Pi 4 running piCorePlayer. I have LMS 8.1.1 and version 2.13.3 of the BBC Sounds app running. I am still unable to listen to any programming. Whilst I can browse the app, pick a program through Stations and Schedules and 'play', the time progress bar shows a time of 0. Given that this was happening on a completely different setup, it feels like I am missing a step but really don't know what to try next (and I'm a numpty at the best of times!).
