.spoke too soon! Not quite all running. I was missing the latest
BBC iPlayer plugins so added from the
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/betarelease-repo.xml
but not working well - tried to access Proms, and got error:
"Spotty requires the Perl module IO::Socket::SSL. You can NOT use Spotty
without this module. Please use your operating system's package manager
to install it."

I tried SSH to the piCorePlayer and commands I found as a proposed
solution but no go:-

"tc@piCorePlayer:/$ sudo apt-get update
sudo: apt-get: command not found
tc@piCorePlayer:/$ sudo apt-get install libio-socket-ssl-perl
libnet-ssleay-perl
sudo: apt-get: command not found

I recognise I am on ancient version of piCorePlayer (3.21) so tried to
update that in situ but that failed also. Guess I wi;ll have to create
a piCorePlayer 6.0 SD card and try that.
However, surely I should somehow be able to upgrade LMS to 7.9.3 without
having to rebuild picorePlayer.? I just want to listen to a Youtube
file on my SqueezeBox!

Yes and it fails:

fails:-

I wouldn’t know how To update manually. I tried SSH and the sudo
command mentioned in the Announcement but that failed - either couldn’t
find sudo or couldn’t find LMS-update (I am complete Linux ignoramus).
Are you aware of some clear instructions for noobs somewhere?

Am trying to do so but the auto update on piCorePlayer fails at present.
Not sure if this is LMS problem or piCorePlayer problem

I have same problem. Following old credentials nolonger working I just
created a new Google Project, set up API key and also Personal account
as per instructions, and apparently authorised OK. Now I at least get
youTube search results (before on old Project I got nothing, though it
worked some months ago). But no sound, and track resets to 0:00 after 3
seconds.

Having said it's all working - it actually plays for e.g. 30 secs then
stops for 5-10 then plays a bit more then stops etc. I'm on high-speed
glass broadband (30Mbs) , and internally everything is pretty
high-speed, so I'm wondering if this is a plugin issue - Spotify works
fine. Would switching on debug logging be worth doing?

2019-06-11 Thread BrynClarke

See post 2 items above
I tried following the instructions for creating a new API V3 project,
used the new API key - now YouTube Search no longer works - returns
nothing (YouTube anything search). I will try pasting my old API key
back in. Question as my earlier post - which logs should I switch on?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2019-06-09 Thread BrynClarke

(I posted this on the old thread earlier - sorry for confusion)

I used the excellent YouTube plugin successfully for a good while, then
stopped using it as I succumbed to Spotify Premium which contains most
of what I search for. But not all.
So a few days ago I tried a YouTube search, and all appeared OK, but no
sound. The timer showed the track playing, then skipped back to the
beginning after a while, but still no sound.
I wondered if the API was no longer OK (have had problems in other
contexts with Google authorisation changes) so went to Settings and
obtained Client ID, Secret key and then code, and apparently
successfully authorised, and tried again.
Still no sound. Track timer advances, after a while (40 secs) skips back
to zero and restarts, then same thing happens over and over (and "pause"
button doesn't stop it - have to play a different (non-YouTube) track to
stop it.

Same thing happens using my iphone iPeng as player, and using my SB
Touch (with EDO).

Should I turn on some logs and post the output? Which ones? I have
0.87.0 of the YouTube plugin.

Thanks!

I did get a very similar email - then a follow up today saying API will
be disabled if no activity within next day. My API console shows no
activity. Actually, my YouTube plugin seems not to be working properly
- all searches return empty results, though I can play items from the
"recently played" list. I have done so, but still no activity showing.
The"LYTE" blog entry referred to above is no help - no idea what LYTE

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2018-01-23 Thread BrynClarke

Hi - I would appreciate any help with the following. Running LMS 7.9.1
on PCP on Raspberry Pi (2)
I switched from my Son's Spotify account to my own new Premium account,
switched the account in LMS Plugins - and started to listen. My SB
Touch would only play a few seconds before dropping out, resuming, going
back to start and generally misbehaving. BUT after some investigation I
found that the same Spotify track would play perfectly on my iPeng
player on my iPhone (same LMS etc). When the track plays badly on the
SqueezeBox touch LMS says "1411kbps CBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify) (Converted
to PCM)" but when the same track plays perfectly on the iPhone player
(iPeng Squeeze player, not Spotify native) LMS says "320kbps CBR, Ogg
Vorbis (Spotify) (Converted to MP3)! I have my Spotty audio quality set
to "Extreme". I would like to get the best quality I can via the Touch,
but I think something is getting overloaded. (It's wired ethernet
connection via mains PowerPacket). Is anyone able to advise what
settings to change to get listenable playback on my Touch?

Phew reverted to QTS 4.1, reconfigured a couple of things, all back to
normal. All above was because I was trying to get hold of IPKG to
follow the instructions kindly provided by others. So if someone could
advise what I need to do to make "ipkg" command work on my QNAP

ever, extremely grateful for those who take the time to provide help and

Hi yes am in the UK and back on QTS 4.1 so LMS working again, but it
would be grand to know what I need to do to reinstall LMS if and when I
upgrade to QTS 4.2 (then it will be - upgrade LMS to latest version,
reinstall Triode's EDO and Soundcheck's TT 3.0, and apply tweaks to
various parameters as done previously following various forum posts and
PM conversations. I think I have backups of all the various config files
etc. If not, I'll take them NOW before going any further.

So - how to re-install LMS following QTS upgrade?
Thanks in advance

I have apparently installed perl via QPKG (web browser) but from my SCP
command line, all the commands perl, apt-get, ipkg, sudo, apt-get just
respond with "program not found". So I fall at the first hurdle. :-(

Yes if someone who knows QNAP NAS could help I'd be very grateful.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin

2015-11-06 Thread BrynClarke

Trying to catch up on this long thread with very limited tech knowledge.
Running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.2 - r33893 @ Wed Mar 14
06:37:22 MDT 2012 on QNAP NAS TS119PII. Reluctant to upgrade LMS unless
essential because of Digital-output mods manually edited into config
files following another long thread.

Added http://sourceforge.net/projects/lms-youtube/files/dev/repo-sf.xml
to additional repositories in plugin page, selected Youtobe, restarted,
plugin shows in list (v0.37) but "plugin failed to load" .

Advice gratefully received...

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Classical.com not working

2012-05-31 Thread BrynClarke

Classical.com does not work for me despite being on 7.7.2 of LMS and 1.0
of the Classical.com plugin. Some playlists would play, others (I only
had 3 of my own) returned Classical_error_parse. I made some changes to
My. Playlists on Classical.Com, and removed and re-setup my account in
LMS - now My Playlists do not even show as a pick, and Shared Playlists
returns Classical_error_parse. This bug or similar was reported months
ago, but sits on Bugzilla unassigned. Is no-one interested in making
this work? I have cancelled my Classical.com subscription. Logitech
should not state this is sn available service. Coz it ain't - or are
others using this successfully (on 7.7.2?)

[SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC via QNAS TS109 no programmes

2008-02-09 Thread BrynClarke

I bought a QBAS TS109 with Slimserver and AlienBBC pre-installed, and
just got a SB3. Sadly, AlienBBC does not work at all - No programmes
found on all channels, and web pages are all blank. Some other
Internet Radio stations do work.

Any ideas how I might fix? I emailed QNAP in both Taiwan and UK, but
no response so far...

..for the expertise. There was a mistake in my TS109 DNS address.
Correcting it fixed the problem. Very many thanks.
