Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support
Thanks again for your continuing support BPA for such a valuable way to listen to BBC Radio which particularly on Radio 3 gives superb quality. I just echo the appreciation that so many have said. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiplayer play it again list shows 404
As always, thanks to all the people who do the real work and in my case BPA as his BBCiPlayer Extra saves the day for the programmes I listen to. My setup on a Raspberry Pi 3 is:- Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1536946607 @ Fri Sep 14 20:18:01 CEST 2018 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: armv7l-linux Perl Version: 5.20.2 - arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int BBCiPlayer v1.5.4.5 and BBCiPlayer Extras 2.0.0 (dash enabled) After selection, programmes play without a problem an example being The Leeds International Piano Competition Part 1 the URL information being:- > URL="iplayer://aod?dash=http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/5/redir/version/2.0/mediaset/audio-syndication-dash/proto/http/vpid/mc4mms=http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/5/select/version/2.0/vpid/mc4m/mediaset/pcdur=10680icon=http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/images/ic/640x360/p06kfnxq.jpgtitle=Radio%203%20in%20Concert%2C%20Leeds%20International%20Piano%20Competition%202018%20-%20Finals%201%2F2desc=The%20first%20round%20of%20the%20concerto%20finals%20live%20from%20Leeds%20Town%20Hall; > icon="html/images/favorites.png" text="Radio 3 in Concert, Leeds > International Piano Competition 2018 - Finals 1/2" type="audio" /> > It Plays:- File Format: AAC, Duration: 178:00 Bitrate: 320kbps CBR I assume, but do not know, the BBC has changed the location the Programme History file but not the programme files. I hope this information may help. :)*Thanks again* from me still using my original Squeezebox Duo receiver and controllers. The community support is thankfully still fantastic and the BBC iPlayer with continued *BPA* support stands out along with *yours*.:) DaveCheltenham's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41689 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108960 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
*marzipan71* - *pinkdot* Posted '*this*' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107180-Synology-7-9-1-packages=879419=1#post879419) on another thread. This is the *Synology Repack* that I am using together with iPlayer 1.5.4.3 with Squeezebox Duet. Thanks to the *Repack* and *bpa* (cannot thank you enough), it works fine. For completeness, my Synology is the DS215J and the latest operating system (DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 1). I also have 7.9.1 on a RaspberryPi-2, again running 1.5.4.3 as an alternate library selectable on the Duet. I hope this helps. Thanks *Pinkdot* and Michael Herger for getting the latest version on to DSM 6 and servicing LMSUpdate following the demise of LMS Repack. mick_w wrote: utgg - great patch, works a treat!! It's been said many times in this thread already, but a big thanks to the community for maintaining this plugin, especially Triode, bpa, utgg for dedicating so much effort in getting this working. We shouldn't underestimate the scale of this - we've now got the only fully working iPlayer implementation outside the official BBC apps!! Great thanks. I would like also say a big thank you to *Triode, bpa, utgg and others* for such great work. Who would have thought a few weeks ago their hard work could have moved us on so far? *Thank you again* DaveCheltenham's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41689 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

utgg wrote: I couldn't resist even more fiddling with the alpha HLS plugin; I hope you don't mind if you are watching Triode! With the attached HLS.pm I've done a small optimisation of the string copies, as already hinted at by Triode. This reduces the number of bytes copied by around 500 fold, and reduces the HLS decoding overhead massively on my NAS, from about 40% to about 5% processor load. With this change, the earlier bug fix and reduction in FETCH_CHUNKS, I'm very happy indeed - streaming is reliable, interface is snappy, and I'm heating up the planet just a little less now! N.B. The attached file has FETCH_CHUNKS = 2, to be conservative. Startup is even faster still with that set to 1 though, with no issues that I can discern. Thanks to you UTGG and Triode along with BPA and all the other contributors on this thread for managing to recover BBC high quality live and listen again streaming to the LMS. In particular UTGG, your mod to Triodes code to improve the CPU efficiency has enabled my slow CPU ReadyNAS SPARC to play the full bit rate streams; before this, just continual rebuffering and not much sound. I did put LMS on a Raspberry Pi 2 as a backup and that has plenty of grunt without the mod. Thanks again to everyone for your contributions and overcoming a much less than perfect BBC transition but despite all this, we are very lucky to have them.
