Welcome indeed. Haven't had an issue since I reverted to 7.3.4, everything just works. I'll probably revisit new versions once they've addressed all issues - my family and I refuse to be an involuntary beta testers. -- Innocence Innocence's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31572 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
After using countless hours getting the WOL setup working I've finally given up on SqueezeBox Server 7.4.x. I deleted 7.4.1, installed SqueezeCenter 7.3.3, downgraded firmware on controller and blocked mysqueezebox.com + squeezenetwork.com in my router to prevent further accidental upgrades. As suspected everything now works perfectly - WOL and all. And the controller menus are far more responsive than they were on 7.4.x. I really really hate to give up and go back, but 7.4.x is simply still too beta I'm angry that they're using ordinary users to discover function-breaking bugs, and at the same time don't respond to bug-reports. Anyway, SvrPowerControl is not to blame for any of this of course, and it's now running flawlessly :) -- Innocence Innocence's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31572 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
Since upgrade to 7.4.0 (now 7.4.1 final) the SBC no longer sends a WOL to my server. When I choose the Music menu, I simple get a message saying: Get SqueezeBox Server software on www.mysqueezebox.com, og make sure it's installed and running on a computer on the network I thought this problem was caused by the SBC controller sofware, but since noone else has this problem, I'm suspecting it's because I'm the only one in the world using SCCLITOOL to control the players. I use the SBR to Turn off receiver. When script detects the SBR is powered off, it does a Code: scclitool.exe %PLAYERMAC% connect www.mysqueezebox.com ... A few minutes later the server is put in standby. After this the SBR can no longer WOL the server - it seems to completely forget it was ever connected to the server. This problem never occured when I used the SvrPowerControl plugin on 7.3. My best guess is that the SBS plugin somehow supplies info about the server to the SBR (so it's able to WOL the next time), and the SCCLITOOL does not (hope this makes sense). As a sidenote: Often when the player is moved to MSB (MySqueezeNetwork.com) the receiver turns back on (LED turns on, and text on the SBR changes to Turn off receiver). I then have to turn it off again using the SBR, because SCCLITOOL is unable to power off the SBR when it's connected to MSB. -- Innocence Innocence's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31572 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

And why? The reason: If I don't power off or move the receiver to mysqueezebox.com, it'll consume more power and light up blue when the server turns off (quite annoying) As far as I understand the SBC (controller) is responsible for sending the Wake-On-Lan signal. Is this incorrect? Also, when you run your SCCLITool.exe script, are you using the SBR's mac address, or the SBC's?Always the SBR (receiver). Usually, if your player looses the ability to WOL your server, the solution is to perform a factory reset of the player and set it up again. After the initial connection to the local server, the player 'remembers' that mac address.I actually tired a reset (held button for ~10 sec and reconfigured), without any change. Only got one receiver - so far :) I will say this: with the SBC, because it is an actual 'computer', you can hack some of the scripts on it's OS so that it will WOL your server every time you turn the SBC on. I've done this when I've had WOL troubles with the SBC in the past. Also, there was a WOL applet for the SBC for the 7.3.x SqueezePlay platform. I don't know if it's been updated for 7.4.I've been looking at the WOL applet, but didn't want to overcomplicate things if I could get the tools working. It is a bit strange though: When I used SvrPowerControl with 7.3 I configured it to move idle players to squeezenetwork.com and turn them off. I always worked perfect! Now, using just the tool I cannot WOL the server and I cannot power off a player once it has been moved to mysqueezebox.com. Hmm... is the SvrPowerControl plugin working with 7.4 now? If it is, maybe I should just quit trying control this myself and turn back control to SvrPowerControl -- Innocence Innocence's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31572 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Any change to the SCCLITool for 7.4.x yet, especially on the apparent inability for the tool to talk to a SBR (SqueezeBox Receiver) when it's connected to mySqueezeBox.com? I tried using the latest SvrPowerControl (20091017) plugin, but it seems to keep the network port on the SBS (SqueezeBox Server) active, making my script believe a user is currently connected to the server, thus preventing standby. I'd rather handle the SBR from the script instead, just need the tool :) -- Innocence Innocence's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31572 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
I've got a batch script running on a Windows XP server. Server has SqueezeBox Server 7.4, but without SrvPowerControl plugin. The batch script uses SCCLITool to query the player: SCCLITool player_mac power ? -t -w 0 If it discovers the player is powered off, it moves the player to mySqueezebox.com: SCCLITool player_mac power 0 -t -w 0 SCCLITool player_mac connect .mysqueezebox.com -t -w 0 When the player is no longer connected to SqueezeCenter, (and no other networking services are required - server is also a fileserver), the server goes into Standby. This part works fine, and it's basically what I used SrvPowerControl for. However, the SqueezeBox Duet no longer seems to send a WOL signal, so my server no longer wakes up when I turn on the SB remote or SB receiver :( This worked fine with SqueezeCenter 7.3+SrvPowerControl. If I send a WOL packet to the server from another PC it wakes up normally, so I know that part is still working. Do you have any idea why this isn't working when I'm using SCCLITool? I notice that once I've move a player to mySqueezeBox.com, the SCCLITool can no longer interact with the player - only SqueezeCenter itself can connect it back to the server. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
The Windows XP server I'm using for SqueezeCenter is also running HTPC, fileserver, backup etc., so unfortunately I can't have SvrPowerControl suspend the whole PC just because noone's currently listening to SqueezeBox :) I am however VERY interrested in a tool (running in the background) which could fire commands to move idle/turned off players to SqueezeNetwork before a system-initiated suspend, and move them back to SqueezeCenter upon resume, for the following reasons: 1) I use a free utility (WakeUp, noeld.com) to prevent Windows from suspending if there are connections on certain ports, among those 3483 (SqueezeBox receiver). However, even when a receiver is turned off, it keeps connection/port to the SqueezeCenter open. 2) Aesthetics: If the PC running the SqueezeCenter the receiver is pointing to goes into suspend, the receiver turns on the annoying blue light :) Both these problems would be solved if the receiver was pointed to SqueezeNetwork before suspend :) I already use PowerSave plugin to automatically turn off idle receivers (paused/stopped for more than 15 minutes) - I really need the tool you're proposing :) -- Innocence Innocence's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31572 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
