Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay, Chromecast and UPnP bridges update

2022-12-11 Thread KeBul

Guys,

I feel I have to say this...

Regardless of how pissed off you are... ALWAYS remember that all the
current contributors/developers to the Squeeze ecosystem are doing this
for free, with considerable effort and in their own time, if you're not
happy with their work then develop your own solutions... or move to
another system, the last thing we need is contributors/developers
getting battered and feeling it's not worth the effort to continue
supporting the community - we absolutely rely on them all.

For those that have been vexed over the last few days - learn from it,
if what you have works and is important to you then leave it be, turn
off auto updates, don't try and run every latest version - consider your
actual need for a newer version and plan carefully before making any
changes, make sure you have a simple path back to what was working for
you previously... but please don't vent on a developer who is trying to
fix problems.

Cheers

Kev

Yeah, disabling volume adjustment/replay gain on the Touch changes the
stream details from
1411kbps CBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify) (Converted to PCM)
to
320k VBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify)

but the file types for either scenario remains:

37558

I don't specifically - as I said in my original post:

Further to my above post, initial test was done using SqueezePlay on my
Mac.

So tried the same album on my different players...

Touch, Boom and Radio - all showed 1411kbps CBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify)
(Converted to PCM)

and the Spotty file type settings reverted to:

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty and File Types

2022-03-23 Thread KeBul

I've never touched any file type settings, so all settings should be at
"default" LMS 8.3

Here's my Spotty file types:

37542

That intrigued me, very different from yours and had me wondering what
stream I received from Spotify.
So I browsed Spotify from LMS and selected a album to play... track
shows as "320k VBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify)" in LMS
and my Spotty files types are now:

37544

The other option from the drop down menu for FLAC is "spotty-hf/flac", I
guess that would become enabled should a FLAC stream be received.

Hope this helps (although it's not helped me :D )

2021-02-14 Thread KeBul

Hi Guys,

Are the changes made for each community release documented and published
anywhere, I've looked here
https://github.com/ralph-irving/squeezeos/commit/ba2bffadb9f1c1b77eee1b1c08a7985eeb97e14e
on github but can't see anything, although I have to confess to
struggling with the whole github thing.

I'm not particularly a fan of following the "bleeding edge" but decided
to try the new community firmware, everything's been fine so far - great
work guys, but when the recent notification for r16835 popped up, I
wondered what the changes were and whether I really needed to update...
and so far have been unable to find out.

Cheers

Hmmm, not really sure on the use case for this, my expectation was
providing a state indicator for pCP... powered on or powered off, so
external equipment can be turned off and on automatically at the same
time as pCP, and that seems to be what it is doing, I cannot find the
document the link references.

When I click on the gpio-poweroff button it asks if I want to reboot,
click on yes and it saves the changes (even if no changes have been
made) and reboots pCP, click on no and it saves the changes and warns
you need to reboot at some time. This is on pCP V5

I've just reconfigured gpio-poweroff for GPIO2 and tested again, and
that behaves the same as my GPIO17 test, I'm just using a multimeter to
check for 3.3v on the various pins so real current draw, no doubt Greg
is spot on with his advice re the gpio driving a switch rather than the
fan itself.

Hi,

Just tested this for you.

I used GPIO 17 which is Pin #11 on the 40 way header

31581

31582

I set up pCP gpio-poweroff as follows:

31580

When pCP is up and running I have 3.3v on Pin #11 (GPIO17)

When I shutdown pCP I have 0v on Pin #11 (GPIO17)

Not sure if this is what you are after, but I hope it helps.

I've not played around with these at all but from a quick read up on RPi
GPIO's I think Pin #1 is fixed 3.3v

You need to use a configurable GPIO pin, try Pin #17, set as an output,
set to high will give you 3.3v on that pin, set to low will give you 0v
on that pin.

Can't see how to set a pin as an output on pCP though - perhaps that's
the default - I'm sure someone else will confirm.

OK, Thanks Pippin.

Sounds likely that I met both of those criteria, certainly wasn't
leaving iPeng open for long, just out of curiosity what data is it
syncing?

It's not a big issue, understand you've got plenty of other work to do,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2017-11-09 Thread KeBul

Hi,

Had iPeng for years but tended to use the Logitech App for driving my
players, so not an experienced iPeng user, upgraded my iPhone 5s to IOS
11.1 Apps updated as well so should be using the latest version of iPeng
and swapped to using iPeng to control my players but noticed if I'm
controlling a player (in this case a Boom) and close iPeng or lock the
screen when I go back into iPeng the volume control slider dances around
a bit and then always goes to a lower volume, this is followed by the
phone volume popup briefly appearing (as if I've pressed the volume
buttons - but I haven't).

By repeatedly doing this the volume of the Boom is eventually turned
right down.

Anyone else seeing this? I've not had a chance to go back and
troubleshoot/play around with any further but will have time in the next
couple of days.

Cheers

Kev.
