Likewise from Toronto - I appreciate all that Phillippe and many others
are doing to update and keep relevant this whole complicated software(s)
and plug ins relevant and still going on so many different set ups and
configurations.

I seem to have lost the ability to connect via one of my Mac Laptops
recently but my iphone, my basement windows $125 computer and two kindle
fires all seem to work with PcP and LMS. Hurrah.
Cheers to one and all - Julian

It's mostly working for me - based in Toronto. I tried 102.1 The Edge as
suggested - sometimes a slight lag on the song title compared to the
sound track but pretty darn good. I went browsing a few other stations
and had a quick listen across Canada. Thanks so much - Julian

Been putting this experiment off to try AirPlay to my Picore player
after working my way through some 86 pages of posts. Gosh just added the
link to the repository and off we go. Thank you so much. Happy listener.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Dropouts - Is it BBC Sounds or Airbridge ?

2020-12-20 Thread Operajulian

First up - I do really like the Picore Player/LMS and plug-ins.
Wonderful work to all those who make it happen.

Thats said I am getting a bit fed up of "dropouts" in a stream -
particularly using BBC Sounds. It can also happen using Bandscampout
plug in.
Basically, at different times in a programme the audio is lost -
sometimes it returns a while later - other times it needs a restart of
the programme or track.
I have the latest versions of LMS/BBC Sounds/Airbridge. I have an
Airport Express that I stream to.
I also use the Reliable plug in - to try and get a consistent stream.

Any ideas ?

Should I work out how to post a log file ? If so which log file should I
look for ?

Much appreciated - Julian

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] A really dumb first-time podcast user question

2020-11-28 Thread Operajulian

Thanks for this thread. Very useful to get podcasts listed on my Rasp
Pi/Picore/LMS set up.
Listening to 99% Invisible podcasts for the first time - very
interesting.

The BBC podcasts can take a while to load each list of options and some
of them don't actually load the specific podcast.
I think for the BBC, I will mostly just subscribe to a programme via BBC
Sounds.

Anyhow - another step forwards for my listening pleasure :-)

Take care everyone,

Julian

Thanks for the recent suggestions & links.
Got it working after more learning of how to do things.
Hurrah the BBC and The Archers etc

Thanks for the replies.
I just had a look and I have BBC I-Player V1.3.1alpha3 from Triode.
This seems to be the most recent update that Picore Player / LMS can get
by itself.

The Live Stream and On Demand Stream are both set as
HLS>MP3>FlashAAC>FlashMP3
The option suggested above does not appear in this version of the plug
in.

Now more learning as I try to work out how to get V1.6 from the Github
repository to the Rasp Pi.

Cheers
Julian

Gosh I would love this to work. I have registered with BBC Sounds on a
different computer and have some subscribed programmes. I can "see" them
in the BBC Sounds plug in on LMS and get the BBC programme image etc but
no sound. It just does not play past 0:00 time. Frustratingly close.
I do have BBC I player plug in set up and with transcoding etc.
It would such listening fun to get this working. Cheers for everyone's
input.
