Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Cannot activate Spotty on LMS

2020-06-09 Thread Orvis

BANG !!
It works !
I'm so happy, Michael you're a king !

After succeeding in solving the issue related to Spotty, I could not
connect my radio to LMS.
But Michael found immediately the solution : add Philippe 44's LMS to
UPnP plugin to my LMS. And that's it. Now, my radio is recognized as a
fake Squeezebox, and I can access everything.
I have now to fine tune everything, but it worked almost at first shot,
with standard installation (for spotty as well as LMS to UPnP).

Conclusion : you can use standard internet capable radio with LMS.

By the way, another question :
On my LMS (version 7.7.6-116), there is already a spotify plugin (which
I unchecked, to avoid any interference with Spotty).
But what is it for ? I couldn't find any way to configure it or use it.

Michael, maybe this functionnality can be added to spotty ? Delivering a
spotify playlist as a raw mp3 stream; on a URL http://x/.mp3 so
that it can be played via any internet radio hardware.

By the way, and for my curiosity, I throw an eye on this product and I
have a question. picoreplayer can be used as a player, or as a server.
When used as a server, they say that it can stream spotify service. Is
it native, or with the help of Spotty ?

At first sight, there is nothing streamed on this port. But I'll have a

Maybe you're right, but I guess that this could be very close.

Here are my thoughts :
I've got a radio that can connect to the URL of an internet radio, or to
the local audio files of my local network.
So I had the idea to find a way to listen my Spotify playlists on this
radio.
The solution I imagined : I should find something that is able to
convert a spotify playlist to a steaming radio.
First track explored : find one of the existing software radio players
(like TuneIn Radio for example) that is able to stream my spotify
playlist. Natively or with a plugin.
Not found.
Second track explored : Find a media server that have the functionnality
to access my spotify playlist and stream it. So I looked what I already
have on my network : my NAS offers many media servers. And there is LMS.
And LMS has a spotify functionnality with the help of Spotty plugin.
So I thought I'm close to what I'm searching for : a media server (LMS)
that can access my spotify playlist (OK with Spotty) and stream it (not
found the solution yet, I hoped that Spotty would provide this
possibility)

flux .mp3

No, I don't have a Squeezebox radio. I've got a radio that have wifi and
possibilities like connecting to an internet radio, connectiong to my
phone to play my mp3, connectiong to a media server to play files, etc.
And I'm trying to find a solution to play my spotify playlist on this
radio.

page 85
If Spotty doesn't provide the possibility to make LMS emitting my
playlists as a media file, that would be great that you add this
functionnality.

I've done everything until this step. That's where I can't go further.

Once, I choose Spotty, there is nothing, just a message "Cannot Access
Spotify Services Without a Connected Turntable". Although my radio finds
the LMS UPnP server and it can connect to it, it seems that it is not
detected by the LMS server.
I must precise that I've just discovered that some recent radio includes
a "spotify function". My radio doesn't have this option explicitly, but
it can access media server, etc. so I try to make it work through this.

Actually, I realize that I don't even know what Spotty plugin delivers
Is it possible to diffuse my spotify playlist, as .mp3 for example, like
internet radio ?

First of all, when I "connect" my radio to LMS on my NAS, it enters the
LMS, and the I can browse into Music/Images/video directory, etc. but
it's empty. And I can't find something related to
spotify/spotty/playlist.

I managed to install Spotty manually, it's ok, thanks for the help.

Now, I'm trying to access it from an radio that can access internet. It
can see the NAS with UPnP and identifies the LMS server, but my playlist
are not inside, it's empty. Is there something specific to configure on
the spotty plugin to diffuse my spotify playlists ?

But another weird issue : The Informations tab mentions that the Plugins

But when I go to /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/ , there is no Plugins
directory available !
Despite that LMS as a bunch of plugins available and installed !

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Cannot activate Spotty on LMS

2020-06-07 Thread Orvis

Well, I thought I was explicite, but I'll try one more time.

There are different steps to use a plugin.
1) installing the plugin
2) making the plugin active, ie loading it
3) configuring the plugin.

The issue is at the step 2)
After step 1), the plugin is not anymore in the "Michael's Slim Stuff"
section, but in sort of "plugin available" section (my interface is in
french, so I guess the translation of this section's name sounds like
this). But not in the "Active plugins" section.
We have to check the box to make the plugin active. So I check the box,
and confirm by clicking "Apply" at the bootom of the page. At this time
I have a popup that says that the serveur must be reloaded, so I agree
and click "restart now".
I reload the page after 1 minute or so, to be sure that the server is
restarted... but the spotty plugins is still in the "plugin available"
section, and unchecked.

Which log should I look at ?

I first just installed the spotty plugin, but the result was the same :
the plugin cannot be activated.
As my CPU is a x64 Intel, I thought I should add the arch 64, but this
may be not required.

Once the plugin is installed, it not activated by default. So I have to
activate it. So I check the plugin Spotty. But once it is checked, it
asks to restart LMS. So I click restart, but when the page reloads, the
Spotty plugin is unchecked.

Best regards,
