Hi Erland - thanks for the reply. As it happens, I do run on Linux and
I'm also pretty good with Perl. I've been kind of assuming that 7.7.2 is
the end of the line when it comes to officially supported builds, but I
guess I should never say never.

Please would you recap what the issues are with the Alpha scanner (or

Many thanks.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2012-11-12 Thread VirusKiller

Thanks.

I have one other issue, which may be a known one. Whenever Custom Scans
are triggered (Custom Tag and Mixed Tag), system performance
deteriorates to the point of becoming unusable:

- Connections to LMS become unresponsive (Squeezeboxes, iPeng,
- Audio drops in an out.

I am using an Atom powered Zotac Zbox mini-PC with 4GB RAM running
64-bit OpenSuSE 11.4 and LMS 7.7.2. During scanning, both CPU and
memory are under 10% utilization.  My media files are on a ReadyNAS Duo;
both the Zbox and Duo are connected to a Gigabit switch.

Obviously, this is a pain because performing incremental LMS music scans
result in full Custom Scans running. (I have switched both Custom Scans
to manual, but this is not ideal).

On a fairly regular basis (perhaps one day in three), I'm seeing my LMS
perl process hit 100% CPU and become completely unresponsive. All
players lose contact.

I've tried to narrow it down and it appears to occur when streaming
Radio 3 HD to a Boom. At the point it becomes unresponsive, there are
faad and flac child processes. Any ideas? Any debugging ideas (given
the server becomes unresponsive and I have to forcibly kill it)?

Posting here as I think it might be BBCiPlayer related.

With the old server, both R3 and R3 HD entries appear in the iPlayer
Listen Live menu and both a 320kbps CBR. They do identify themselves
differently though.
With the new server, the R3 HD entry is missing.

Stop press: Just updated the plugin on the old server and the HD listing
is gone.

Why the differences? Is this correct?

Apologies if this has been asked for, but is there any possibility of an

It doesn't have to be one attempt per millisecond, but something along
the lines of one attempt per one or two seconds would be great.

Got the beta installed in my 7.5.5 server (going to upgrade to 7.6

I'm using Squeezepad too and also see the issue where you don't get a
context menu to add artist to the Library unless you search for the
artist directly. So when I go to my Recent Artists list, I can't add
any of them into the Library.

The Library... Great idea. The million dollar question is: Is there
any way that a Spotify library could be integrated with the local
library or vice versa. What I would really like would be to search by
artist and have both my local albums for that artist *plus* the albums
that I've added to my Spotify Library.

New version of libspotify: no mention of normalization fix...
libspotify release notes Wrote:
 Version 0.0.8

   SPOTIFY_API_VERSION is bumped to 8.

   Added support for offline mode.
Users of libspotify can now request playlists to be offline
synchronized just as Spotify's desktop and mobile applications.
For example of how to do this, please see cmd_playlist_offline()
in playlist.c in the spshell example.

Added sp_playlistcontainer_is_loaded() which can be used to
check if a playlistcontainer is loaded. This value will be true
after the container_loaded() callback is invoked.

Added support for spotify:image: linktype. If your application
needs an abstract way to refer to coverarts, artist portraits, etc
this is what you should use.

Add sp_session_user_country() that returns the currently logged in
users registered country. This is the country that should be used
to get toplists localized for the user.

bugfix: LocalTrack URI handling (sp_link) was broken. This has now
   been fixed

bufix: libspotify was unable to link on 10.4 and 10.5. This has
   now been fixed
