Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Installing Squeezeplug on a Raspberry PI 2

2015-06-05 Thread bluto99

One item I found helpful for setup was Fing, a free app for ios and
Android, it will show all devices connected to your network complete w/
IP address, name, manufacturer, etc and it also will ping them on
request...this was very handy to wake up my picoreplayer on a poor
connection (too many lost packets) and helped me realize I needed better
wifi in my shop (Was using a wifi range extender and the signal quality
wasn't good enough, had skips, dropouts, etc)
(have no connection to Fing other than as a happy user)

Thanks so much for the hard work! Had spent many hours trying to get
VLC system audio streaming working in OS X and Ubuntu Linux without
success until I found your post, with some minor modification on the
source info am now streaming Pandora One (in order to get 192 vs. 128)
from Ubuntu to my Squeezebox Touch and FWIW Ubuntu is running within OS
X via Virtualbox
It might be worth starting a new thread since this most excellent
and useful solution is within the linux waveinput thread...and the
related info in your VLC Windows streaming post was helpful
tooanyway, thanks again
