Older versions of the iPlayer plugin had a menu option that linked direct to an opml file on Triodes depository. Which would then give an additional 'Special Events' submenu I'm guessing so that he could update it with 'specials' as they happened. Yeah, the BBC streams do seem quite bad at the moment, lots of buffering. I've had 6music just stop or go into buffering and then pause at about 3%. Changing channels can also take a while sometimes. Not sure if it's the streams or plugin changes. Is one aimed at desktop and the other at mobile? Another thought (as suggested a few weeks back by bpa) would be to make the CDN selectable from the options gui and build the url in the plugin. The BBC have started and stopped many many metadata projects over the years - they seem to love to spend money on experiments and then shut them down.
