Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I'm sorry if I didn't search enough for the answer here. I have two players - Logitech Touch and my iPad iPeng Player. I have custom scan and browse. I created some custom menus, such as Rock Music, Classical Music, etc. All my files are flac and tagged with Mp3Tag. When I select my Touch player, I see all my menu items under Classical Music, but when I select my iPeng Player, I don't see any of my Custom Browse menu items - but I do see new music I switch back to my touch and I see all my classical menu items. My Web menus on the computer are completely fine too. Two things of note: 1) In Rock Music, I've used typical tags, such as artist, album, year, etc. In Classical Music, I have some Custom Scan tags such as composer, ensemble, conductor, etc. 2) I also use the Erland hide menus, where I have just my main category menus in the My Music area: Rock Music, Classical Music, Jazz Music, etc. I'm wondering if it could be my Custom Browse Menu enabling settings, or my custom scan created menus for my special tags. camelx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1063 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I got it all figured out now and it works perfectly. iPeng and the Erland custom plugins: Browse, Scan, Multi Library and Hide Menus. I went through all my menus in Custom Browse and found I was telling the classical music custom menus to only be active with Classical Music library was active. I changed that to Not specify a library being active and iPeng saw all my menus in the Classical Music menu. More answers below... pippin wrote: Are you sure you use both players with the same server? Yes I do. I use my iPad to control my home stereo with the Touch player and I use the iPad iPeng player to listen on headphones and while traveling. While menus in a Squeezebox system (except for a few of iPeng's own ones like Albums, Artists etc) are generally player specific I'm not aware that you can have different CustomBrowse menus for different players. May be fault for lack of info, sorry. I'm also using Erland's Multi-Library plugin. So each of those custom menus, are all part of individual Multi-Lib. Also each of those genres that are individual lib are also in unique folder. I create custom menus with Custom Browse based on my personal tags scanned by Custom Scan. I can change players in iPeng from Touch and iPad Player and they both see all the menus perfectly. I don't know hide menus but it should not work with iPeng for the main library categories but for everything else. The Hide menus works perfectly too. I use it to hide all the up front menus the SBS has in the My Music menu. So when you go to mine you only see the Rock Music, Classical Music, etc. and under each of those I have ONLY what I want. Which menus do you _see_ for iPeng's players? Does browsing the library actually work? all fine now. I'd be glad to elaborate further if anyone is interested. This was a procedural error on my part, sorry for the troubles Pippin. iPeng and Erland's plugins work great together! [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help me understand LMS and custom scan basics
Sorry, it seems LMS is constantly scanning and still doesn't always find my tag changes. (I'm sure this is ignorance on my part :) ) What I have: - large Rock and Classical collection - 45k albums in FLAC - I have all the Erland plugins and use custom browse and scan to add my custom flac fields of Soloists, label, and Orchestra (band). I also use the built in CB menus of Composer and Conductor. - I'm using the latest 7.7 build of LMS What I'm not understanding: - first thing of note, I changed a large group of tags with MP3tag from Bach, J.S. to Bach, Johann Sebastian. First did a look for new and changes scan and LMS still showed Bach, J.S. Then I did Clear and rescan everything and still didn't change (unless I checked to early after many hours. - I noticed it seem to change when I browse the music fold via Folder browse within LMS, which is a nice trick for fast update. Please help suggesting best practices: - what is best to do when I change previously tagged flac information, like my Bach example above? quick scan or clear and rescan? - what is best to do when I add NEW albums? look for changes or clear and rescan? - and one for erland or custom crowd. If I only change standard fields such as title or album name, do I need to do a custom scan prior to LMS scan? - Also for Erland - in the case above where I change the Bach, J.S. to Bach, Johann Sebastian in Artist and Composer, then do I need to do custom scan first and then do LMS Scan? if so which LMS scans? Look for changes or clear and rescan everything? Thanks in advance! -- camelx camelx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1063 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93978 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help me understand LMS and custom scan basics
As I mentioned, I too use Mp3Tagger and that may be the root of my main problem. Thanks for that!! And from Erland's replies, then is sounds like this may be the proper procedure for using Mp3Tag, LMS, and Custom Scan: - always use clear and rescan all - Then do the Scan tags and/or mixed tags (it should start automatically if you configured it properly after LMS scan completes) The browse folders trick is still a good one to know for quickly updating LMS of tag changes. -- camelx camelx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1063 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93978 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
what does the new version have in it? I took a look around, but missed it. Thanks, appreciate it. Btw, for now I left my FLAC tag of Organization at Organization. Copied my Orchestra to Ensemble, in case I need it - can easily delete one if need be. And left my soloists the way it is, maybe I need to copy that to performers for now to get it to show up in Muso. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
Very nice work you've been doing. I still have 6 days left on my demo, then I think I'll have to buy and support your efforts. I have a couple of things: 1) can you show publisher via FLAC? (for my classical collection, this is very key and often referred to when discussing a CD. 2) I know it's not a player, but could you at least support foobar2000? it is not FAT like winamp and most hard core FLAC guys use it. 3) damn it, I have Sonos. I love how you work with squeezebox, but is there a chance to support it? I had the original squeezebox, prior to logitect. I may go back to it for the 24-96 quality. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
Yes, publisher is label, like you said Naxos, EMI, Sony, DG. Thanks.I have no preference in location, but it will be nice to have it as a grouping item, like you do at the top where I can click on Artist, conductor and orchestra (band) now. One other thing is I have soloist as a tag in hundreds of flac CDs. Could this be mapped to your performer? and would also be good on the top as a clickable, such as Yo-Yo Ma. If you need one of my files again to look over, let me know. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
It's old, but sounds like it's still true... begin quote: - When tagging PUBLISHER for FLAC files, mp3tag somehow turn it into the Organization field instead. For example, when I tag 'EMI' as Publisher into a FLAC file, it would not show up in Winamp's File Info - Basic Info - Publisher field; when I click on the Advanced tab, it'd list 'EMI' as under the Organization field, which is useless as no one would read that. - end of quote -- camelx camelx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1063 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
I just tagged about 400 of my 1400 classical CDs with MP3Tag all FLACs. I used beyond normal tags these fields based on things I read and other music management software: soloists - ie, like Yo-Yo Ma, or a concerto with featured guest Publisher - for label, like EMI, Naxos, Sony, etc Orchestra - for orchestra, others use BAND I also move composer to Artist and Album Artist. -- Now hearing about Mp3Tag actually putting Publisher in Organization, I'm confused. I will completely stop my project until I can get the right info so I can do this right. I don't even see an Option for Organization in Mp3Tag for it's extended tag support. Is Soloist a good thing to use? or should I be making Performers like Muso has? Orchestra or Band? Geezzz! Thanks in advance to those that have been there and done this! -- camelx camelx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1063 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
Yes, the field PUBLISHER actually reads and writes the field ORGANIZATION in files tagged with Vorbis Comments. There are a small handful of tag mappings (three) for Vorbis Comments that are not documented. To see them, go to Tools Options Tags Mapping. I wouldn't touch the two mappings of TRACK to TRACKNUMBER and YEAR to DATE, but you could probably delete the PUBLISHER to ORGANIZATION mapping from the table. Then, when you write PUBLISHER you'll actually be working with a field having the same name. As for whether that will work with MUSO (or your other music applications), you'll just have to try it. I wouldn't be surprised if one application expects the data in ORGANIZATION and another in PUBLISHER. To work around that you may have to write the data to both fields. -- camelx camelx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1063 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
all my classical tags are ripped in flac by me. I have provided the conductor, Orchestra from MP3Tag. When I load your software, these fields are not filled in. (I'm guessing that they are either ID3v2 fields, which I don't populate for flac or they are Muso proprietary which means when I tag my 1000+ CDs, that info is ONLY good for Muso) Please clarify. Thanks. It's the best looking thing I've seen yet, but it MUST support classical typical vorbis comments. You could get around a big request mod here by allowing a mapping of fields. Where do you get the information for: Conductor Performer Band I have orchestra -- camelx camelx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1063 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
