Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
I think I know the answer to this, but want to check. I followed this tutorial (thanks) and got everything set up and working. However, my .mp3s were tagged using version 1.9b in Windows and it appears that the Linux server (1.8) doesn't recognize the tags. It found all of the files but reports that they all need to be verified. I went back and tagged a few of them with 1.8 in Windows and the Linux server then recognizes them as tagged. I saw the warning not to edit the default.m3lib file with 1.9b because it would alter the library. But is it also the case that the tags between version 1.8 and 1.9b are different in a way the the older version won't read the tags made with the newer one? Thanks. downtime's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi all, This is slightly off topic, but I am wondering if anyone has a recipes.xml file with more than one recipe in it that they would be willing to share. I've been searching for quite a while and been unable to find one. I've found the general instructions from Spicefly (http://www.spicefly.com/article.php?page=musicip-recipes), but think a good example would be helpful. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
Hi Antoniop, I'm a long-time Spicefly Sugarcube user. I switched to an ARM-based server a few years ago and MusicIP didn't run on it, so I abandoned Sugarcube for the SmartMix plugin although it didn't provide the mixes I liked as much as Sugarcube. When Logitech discontinued that, I went back to Sugarcube on an old laptop. Now that I can run MusicIP and Sugarcube on an RP3, I feel like I have the best possible combination for the type of listening I do. Sugarcube has always had superior mixes and I recommend it highly. downtime's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
Hi again, Well, I disabled all of the plugins that I wasn't using and that seems to have solved the problem. I should have disabled them one at a time so that I could have figured out which was causing the conflict (or whatever), but I didn't so I don't have that information. Anyway, if anyone else has the issue of LMS not interacting properly with MMM using a RP3 and the configuration described in this thread, disabling unused plugins may help. downtime's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
One other little clue: I'm using SpiceFly's replacement interface for MMM and Test Mix Creation works so I know MMM is working correctly. However, it takes a few seconds before the mix is created. I haven't seen that delay on other platforms. Maybe that is causing a timeout between LMS and MMM? I read something about that in the original post in this thread. Thanks again Antoniop, I copied your script exactly (changing the path a little bit to fit my setup), stopped LMS, and ran this session: pi@max2play:~ $ /home/pi/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/mmserver start Password: Running MusicMagicServer pi@max2play:~ $ ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libarmmem.so' from /etc/ld.so.preload cannot be preloaded (cannot open shared object file): ignored. Starting server on port 10002 pi@max2play:~ $ sudo service logitechmediaserver start Both MMM and LMS are running, but LMS still doesn't see MMM. All of the tracks chosen are random. Both servers point to the same path where the music tracks are /media/pi/SmallTunes. It's confusing because I have been running these two severs on other platforms - Windows, Linux, Mac - for several years with happy results. I got a RP3 so I wouldn't have to keep a laptop running all of the time, but I'm not having much luck so far. I had set up a folder with symlinks for LMS to point to. However, when I did the MusicIP scan, I pointed it directly to the music files. That was causing LMS and MusicIP in effect to see different paths. I'm having difficulty getting SugarCube to return non-random mixes. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS LMS 7.7.5 Spicefly 4.70 :10002 shows plenty of tracks to mix. A test mix works fine. LMS->Settings->Player->SpiceFly SugarCube-> Available MIP Genres shows all of the genres scanned so I'm assuming that MIP and SugarCube are communicating. However, when I try to play a mix SugarCube History shows only random tracks chosen. I tried all of the troubleshooting tips (http://www.spicefly.com/article.php?page=spicefly-sugarcube-troubleshooting). Part of the log file looks like this: [16-06-21 14:52:45.7590] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::gotErrorContinue (2) Random Track Selected to match Current Playing Tracks Genre [16-06-21 14:52:45.7598] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::gotErrorContinue (2) Adding Track; Slim::Schema::Track=HASH(0xdf48328) Just for kicks I installed LMS, MIP and SugarCube on a Macbook and got it working perfectly, so it must be something I'm doing or not doing under Ubuntu. Thanks Michael. I've been away since I read the depressing news that Squeezeboxes were being discontinued. But, I'm glad I came back. I installed Smart Mix last night and have been quite pleased so far with the mixes generated and the functionality. I got that feeling of having a bottomless, interesting music collection that I haven't had since I first installed MusicMagicMixer way back when. I was happy with MMM and the MusicIP plugin until I moved to a Sheevaplug server and as the plugin doesn't run on ARM, have been looking for a replacement. This is it. Much appreciated. The scan identified all but 0.33% of my tracks. That's amazing. The only glitch so far was that after the scan completed, my remote was unable to control my SB3. I could use a web interface fine. I restarted the SB3 but still no remote. Finally, I uninstalled and reinstalled Smart Mix and now everything is fine. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] 7.3 and XM radio
Because I activated the 30-day Sirius trial, I decided to upgrade to 7.3 again to see how it works. As it turns out 7.3 prevents access to Sirius from outside the US (where I am). I can't even add Sirius to the player menu from inside 7.3. So, by installing 7.3 I lost access to both XMRadio which I pay for and Sirius which I am testing. I'm still using 7.2 just for the XMRadio plugin. Just to see though, I signed up for the 30-day Sirius trial and the stations I listen to most through XMRadio are available through Sirius. Other than the the price difference ($8.55/mo vs $12.95/mo) and the principle of the thing, why not switch to Sirius? I realize price and principles are important, and am not suggesting this as flame bait. I'm just wondering if rather than using an old version of SqueezeCenter and hoping someone will write a new plugin (probably with every SqueezeCenter version change), I should just hold my nose, compromise my principles, cough up the extra $52.80/year, and switch. -- downtime downtime's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56497 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
