Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.2 packages
I just downloaded and installed this, but it is still telling me there is an update available (7.9.2) even after install (I understand this is a "known issue" ?) What about version 8 ? I would really like to install it. Will it become available for Synology Evansport processor DS415PLAY NAS ? (32-bit, not 64-bit processor I am 99% sure) Thank you for your help. And great work by pinkdot keeping this updated, thank you very much! :) echable's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69542 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108960 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Great, thanks for your work keeping this going on Synology! "Save queue" doesn't work, error message is "Network error". It works on Material Skin on Windows, so I think the error probably is the save path is not assigned correct Linux permissions ? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Just tried Material for the first time, I'm very satisified with it. One problem, though, that if I can't fix it would be a deal breaker: I set up the Chromecast bridge like I've done before. After finishing that setup screen, you click save and the page reloads, showing the Chromecasts it has found at the bottom of the page. It finds both my Chromecasts, and this usually means they will show up in the main playback LMS interface. However, they don't. Any way to diagnose or fix this ? It had not begun working again, just one time. It does it always every time, giving the error message about player name being in use, so in order to get it to proceed I have to add yet another number to the end of player title every time. echable's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69542 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Recently - am I correct an update was pushed through Microsoft Store a day or two ago ? - I get an error message saying that the program's own player name is already in use. I have solved it by just adding numbers at the end of the name and clicking Apply. But I have to do this every time I start the software, on PC bootup. Another strange thing is that on bootup, the program icon appears in bottom- right hand corner of Windows screen as normal first, but it is coloured green not blue as normal. Then I click on that icon to open the program, then the green icon disappears and as far as I can see the program gets completely terminated, from Task Manager etc. When I then after this start the program the normal way, it works normally. When I come home I will check for any logs or screenshots to attach. GREAT software by the way, thank you! echable's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69542 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Cool with the right-click top bar to switch servers, I run two also. After recent update (there was one just a day or two, if I'm correct ?) the server field requires the internal IP address to access a LAN www.ddns.com address LMS server without port forwards, i.e. when the ports are not forwarded it requires the 192.168.1.XXX address. But it accepts a LAN www.ddns.com address on another server where the ports are forwarded. Is this as-expected unavoidable behaviour ? Am I not grasping something fundamental here that someone could explain to me ? Given that it accepts the www.ddns.com address on the server that has port forwarding on, does this mean (despite the Microsoft Store description specifying "on local network") that Squeezelite-X could in that case work from a remote wifi too ? Great software anyway, thanks! (yeah yeah I know the "don't forward your ports" lectures, but I got defences you don't know about :) Anyway, what about focusing future LMS updates on tightening that security then, an obvious appeal of this software is using it from anywhere, without going the whole route of setting up your own VNP server server then starting your own VPN connect app etc. etc. to connect remotely - gripe finished :) ) echable's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69542 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes, with username and password required. If anyone knew my www.synologyddns.com:9002 address and went to that address, they would get the username+login prompt ? That, plus using www.privateinternetaccess.com clients for any and all devices, should be sufficient, shouldn't it ? If "anyone in the world" can access my LMS ? Well, I have username + password protection turned on, and always use the privateinernetaccess.com VPN client on all devices, so I suppose not ? I want and need to be able to access my at-home LMS from any network anywhere. What kind of "network settings" are you asking for ? Where would I find them ? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.2 packages
Are these the relevant settings that people refer to when they say "use a VPN" when they talk about using LMS through the internet ? Any guide on settings please ? As noted, I already use a VPN from privateinternetaccess.com that encrypts everything, is that NOT sufficient ? According to previous poster, the 7.9.2 pinkdot version completely prohibits any outside internet access (including, apparently, in this case, access from my internal LAN but using the Synology ddns address). If the below is what I need (or should, instead of port forwarding, anyway) set up to have more secure access to LMS from anywhere, links to any guides or an explanation here would be MUCH apprecated! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.2 packages
Just installed this package, used the mirror source and the link specifically for my NAS build, DS415PLAY, it installed suspiciously quickly and when I click on the link I get taken to http://ddns.synology.me:9002/settings/server/wizard.html this showing this message: 403 Forbidden: settings/server/wizard.html Any tips ? Just a question of waiting a while or rebooting perhaps ? I previously had the SynoCommunity older version build installed, just installed that, rebooted, then installed this. Great job anyway by the way, I'm sure I'll get it working! Will this package auto-update ? How come you don't make a repo so the package can be added to and show up in Package Center ? I have "Update plugins automatically" ticked (bad idea ?) and it must have done it itself. Tried LMS this morning and Mixcloud is now at least partially working. Glad to hear a new, fully functioning version of the Mixcloud plugin will be released soon :) LMS is the ULTIMATE music server, it has EVERYTHING THERE, I can't believe it took me so many years to discover it. I needs a new name and some updated themes (I've tried the Material Theme and the ext4gls -or whatever it's called, neither much good), otherwise, I am so fn impressed.
