That did it! Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it. As
mentioned elsewhere in this thread, SDT is the primary reason I still
have the Touch.

It was the same URL each time. The weather location code being used was
USCA9012:1:US, which looks like it's invalid(?). I changed it to
USCA0563:1:US, which has made the error message go away. However I'm
still not seeing any data on the screen of my Touch. I'm not sure what
the JSON returned from weather.com is supposed to look like, but here's
what I see when I go to that URL in the browser:

Not seeing much in the way of current weather information in there, but
then maybe this is only one of several fetches that SDT does, I don't
know.

At any rate, I'm not seeing errors in the log but I'm also not seeing
data on the screen, so still not sure what's going on.

what the UI is for this...where do I find Spotify access?

Also, I'm seeing this in my log:

What should I be doing about that?

Thanks!

Not sure that this is really the proper thread for this, but SDT is
honestly a primary reason I still have my Touch in operation and the
community has been super helpful in the past, so here goes.

I want to move my LMS installation to a new PC. Is there a simple way to
transfer all of the SDT and Custom Clock settings over? I assume the
settings are squirelled away in some directory or other, but I can't
seem to find it. I've got the basics set up, but the settings are all
defaults and recreating all the specific formats and displays seems
daunting. Thanks!

Closing the loop on this...I had to do a couple things. First, I had to
go the Touch settings to display the "hidden" menu items. That brought
up the Extras setting menu that was previously not visible. Then I had
to reinstall the Custom Clock applet as it had been torpedoed during the
firmware update. After those steps SDT was visible in the screensaver
menu.

Thanks for the help!

OK, dumb question time. I'm a long-time SDT user, but now I suddenly
can't figure out how to enable it. I just did an update to both the LMS
software (v 7.7.6) and to the Touch software. On the Touch there is now
no option for SuperDateTime in the screen saver section. SDT is enabled
on the server plugin list and the settings there are as they were prior
to the server software update. I just don't know what to do to make it
an option on the Touch. What am I missing?

Thanks!

Hi all,

I'm a long time SDT user. Recently moved my slimserver installation to a
new computer (W10) and also installed a new router. So much newness. SDT
was working fine, displaying normally on my Touch, until the router
change. Now I get no data. Looking at the logs and...nothing. No errors
at all, everything looks totally normal. The Touch can connect to the
slimserver and play music, so no trouble there. I an connect out from
the W10 box to the Internet and connect to wunderground and everywhere
else. I've restarted slimserver. I've rebooted the box. No luck. Where
else can I look to troubleshoot this? I'm stumped.

This is the weather underground version of SDT.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2015-04-23 Thread jallison

For the most part the updated plugin (tcutting's version) is working.
One thing that is different: at 9:00 PM Pacific Time the updates roll
over to the next day. Since West Coast night games aren't over yet, I
lose the score updates at that point and just get the schedule
information for the next day. Not sure if this is an artifact of the
feed changing at midnight Eastern or if it's something that can be coded
around.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2014-12-15 Thread jallison

This may be a bit off topic but there's such an active discussion of SDT
going on that I can't help asking about it.

I'm using Custom Clock Helper to define a skin for Custom Clock on my
Touch. It works pretty well, showing current weather, short forecast,
and sports scores for teams I'm interested in. But I'm still confused
about what some of the options are. For example, the Forcast icon
(sic) allows a period selection of one of C, 1, 2, 3, d1, ..., d10. I
assume d1...d10 would give one forecast icons for day 1 through day 10.
But what are the C and 1, 2, 3 for?

Also, I'd like to have some simple text below the icon showing projected
high and low for that forecast period. Is that possible?

Thanks for any input and many thanks to the community and especially
tcutting for keeping SDT alive!

Changed the way it handles the 1 and 2 near-term forecasts (based

Added space in windspeed between direction (East) and value (4) was

 C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib
You need to edit the file plugin.pm, which is located within that .par
archive. What I do is this:

1. Copy the Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par file to a temp directory
somewhere. You'll use this to expand the archive and to keep around as
a backup in case something goes wrong.
2. Expand the above file. It's a perl archive, which is just a zip
file. You can use a utility like 7-zip to unzip it.
3. Find the file plugin.pm in the newly-created file hierarchy that the
unzipping process created and edit it.
4. Create a new Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par file from the same
directory hierarchy (use 7-zip or equivalent for this...just create a
zip file but use .par as the file extension instead of .zip).
5. Replace the .par file in the
Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib directory with your
newly-created one.
6. Restart the server.

I hope I'm answering the right question here :)

I put together the attached style. It has time and date at the top,
weather under that (alternating between current temp / humidity / wind
and pressure / dew point / forecast hi/lo), scores in the lower left,
and a forecast icon in the lower right.

There was a lot of trial and error here and I'm still not sure what a
lot of the options in the helper app actually do (what's the dynamic
setting for? And what do the different forecast periods mean (1 vs d1)?
For example). But this satisfies what I was looking for and can
hopefully be used as a starting point for others. I used weather
underground values for current temp and such, btw, because it seems
easier for SDT to parse and I have a weather station that reports to WU
so I can see my own data :)

The combination of Custom Clock and the Helper app is great. A little
arcane but it sure allows you to customize your device. Thanks for
these!

have to do every time I get a new version I have to edit the code. If I
don't I get these errors:

Code:

  [10-10-11 14:39:30.2760] Slim::Buttons::Common::pushMode (2117) Error:
Couldn't push into new mode: [OFF.superdatetime] !: Undefined subroutine

 line 6012.

My usual trick is to edit plugin.pm and comment out the three times
that setCustomChar is called. I did this, but now I'm getting these
errors:

Code:

The steps I follow to do this are:

1. Unzip the Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par file.
2. Do the edits to plugin.pm
3. Zip the directory up again into Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par (to
do this I use 7 zip to create a zip file and rename it to .par)
4. Replace the file in C:\Program Files
(x86)\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib

It seems that the server isn't recognizing my modified archive somehow.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks.

Not exactly sure why you need to edit new downloads of SDT to clear your
setCustomChar errors. With that said your method of renaming the zip
file as a par file is probably causing your current difficulty. A
par file is not the same as a zip file. Renaming a zip file to par
will not work. You need to make sure you create a par file. WinRAR or
WinZIP will work. Not sure about 7zip, but if you extracted the
plugin.pm file using 7zip it should be capable of putting it back.
I suspect the setCustomChar errors are due to my old Squeezebox 1. This
has been a problem with SDT for quite a while now.

I will try tweaking the archive. Thanks.

 In the gotMLB() subroutine, change:

 my @teams = $game_div-look_down( _tag, a, href,

 to:

 my @teams = $game_div-look_down( _tag, a, href,

If you use 7-Zip you can directly open the .par file, drag out

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat survey, what's most important ?

2009-06-02 Thread jallison

A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the
results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64055

Question: What functionality in TrackStat do you need most ?

- The ability to set track ratings on currently playing track
- The ability to set track ratings when browsing music library
- The ability to set track ratings from third party clients like
  iPeng and Moose
- Dynamic playlists offered through Dynamic Playlist plugin
- Browsing top rated statistics
- Browsing most played statistics
- Browsing last added statistics
- iTunes statistics import/export modules offered through Custom Scan
- MusicIP statistics import/export modules offered through Custom
  Scan
- Amarok statistics import/export modules offered through Custom Scan

I love TrackStat. We're big fans of the dynamic playlists, especially
queuing up a list of songs that haven't been played in a long time.
Unless there was some must have functionality in 8.0 I wouldn't upgrade
if it meant being without TrackStat.

I finally got around to doing this. I omitted the calls to the
setcustomchar function and got SDT working on my SB1. That's the good
part.

The not so good part is the current behavior. There's an NHL game for
one of my teams tonight, so the display is alternating between current
weather and the display of the game start time. But rather than waiting
the specified interval between the two displays, I get the two chasing
each other off the screen continuously. There is effectively no delay
for either display no matter what I set the interval times to.

Any thoughts on what might be happening here?

Thanks.

Several weeks ago I posted about SDT not working at all with my SB1. I
just get this in the log:

I haven't heard anything, so I'm assuming that the SB1 is simply not
supported with this plugin.

I seem to recall in the past that I hacked SDT to skip over these
undefined calls. The downside to this, of course, is that you have to
do it every time you get a new SDT. My problem now is that I can't find
the file to edit. If someone could post instructions on how to get after
the SDT perl I would much appreciate it.

Thanks.

Latest episode in my quixotic quest to get SDT working again on my

I recall now that I had to edit plugin.pm in the past because of the
setCustomChar call that apparently doesn't exist for my old hardware. I
went to do that, then discovered that things are now kept in a PAR
archive. So I unzipped that, edited the file, screwed up the folder
hierarchy, fixed that, and restarted the server. Now I'm getting more
errors in the log about missing routines having to do with the alarm
function.

So I guess I'll start from scratch. I'll remove SDT, update
SqueezeCenter to the latest version, get SDT back, and see what
happens. More when I get a chance to do that.

Around the first of the year I noticed that I wasn't getting NHL score
updates any longer. I figured that maybe some HTML parsing work had
been done, so I went and grabbed the latest release of SDT -- 5.8.2.
Installed it, and now...no screen saver at all when the player is off.

The plugin is selected on the server plugins page. The settings on the
server side are preserved from the previous version (weather zip code,
teams to follow, etc.). I'm not sure about the player-side settings.
Under Time/Weather format string the area under Default Mode has both
drop downs set to Off and the fields there are all blank. I'm not sure
what, if anything, I should be putting in there.

This is an old original Squeezebox 1 player, so no graphics support or
anything fancy.

Any ideas on why I'm not getting any screensaver display at all?

Thanks.

(5.0.5) to deal with the MLB parsing issue. It's working, but now the
time and weather information (on line 2) scrolls, which it didn't do

the information fits) and it just makes it harder to read.

Is there a way to tell the plugin to not scroll?

Thanks.

3:08 PM 73f/33%/SSW 4/29.98-

The first line is centered. The second line scrolls across the display.
It didn't do that before.

Also the forecast used to include a high or low temp. So the top line
would read, Tonight: Partly Cloudy Low 53 or something like that.

Sorry if I sound whiny, I don't mean to. I like this plugin a lot and
really just want it to work the way it did before I upgraded. Thanks.
