Not sure that this is really the proper thread for this, but SDT is honestly a primary reason I still have my Touch in operation and the community has been super helpful in the past, so here goes. I want to move my LMS installation to a new PC. Is there a simple way to transfer all of the SDT and Custom Clock settings over? I assume the settings are squirelled away in some directory or other, but I can't seem to find it. I've got the basics set up, but the settings are all defaults and recreating all the specific formats and displays seems daunting. First, I had to go the Touch settings to display the "hidden" menu items. That brought up the Extras setting menu that was previously not visible. Then I had to reinstall the Custom Clock applet as it had been torpedoed during the firmware update. After those steps SDT was visible in the screensaver menu. OK, dumb question time. I'm a long-time SDT user, but now I suddenly can't figure out how to enable it. I just did an update to both the LMS software (v 7.7.6) and to the Touch software. On the Touch there is now no option for SuperDateTime in the screen saver section. SDT is enabled on the server plugin list and the settings there are as they were prior to the server software update. I just don't know what to do to make it an option on the Touch. For the most part the updated plugin (tcutting's version) is working. One thing that is different: at 9:00 PM Pacific Time the updates roll over to the next day. Since West Coast night games aren't over yet, I lose the score updates at that point and just get the schedule information for the next day. Not sure if this is an artifact of the feed changing at midnight Eastern or if it's something that can be coded around. - Jeff jallison's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1465 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
This may be a bit off topic but there's such an active discussion of SDT going on that I can't help asking about it. I'm using Custom Clock Helper to define a skin for Custom Clock on my Touch. It works pretty well, showing current weather, short forecast, and sports scores for teams I'm interested in. But I'm still confused about what some of the options are. For example, the Forcast icon (sic) allows a period selection of one of C, 1, 2, 3, d1, ..., d10. I assume d1...d10 would give one forecast icons for day 1 through day 10. But what are the C and 1, 2, 3 for? Also, I'd like to have some simple text below the icon showing projected high and low for that forecast period. Is that possible? Create a new Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par file from the same directory hierarchy (use 7-zip or equivalent for this...just create a zip file but use .par as the file extension instead of .zip). 5. We're big fans of the dynamic playlists, especially queuing up a list of songs that haven't been played in a long time. I omitted the calls to the setcustomchar function and got SDT working on my SB1. That's the good part. The not so good part is the current behavior. There's an NHL game for one of my teams tonight, so the display is alternating between current weather and the display of the game start time. But rather than waiting the specified interval between the two displays, I get the two chasing each other off the screen continuously. There is effectively no delay for either display no matter what I set the interval times to. Any thoughts on what might be happening here? I'm looking in Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins and there is nothing in there for Super Date Time. But the plugin is installed, because I can set up the configuration and turn it on, at which point I get the errors in the log mentioned before. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Several weeks ago I posted about SDT not working at all with my SB1. I just get this in the log: [09-01-19 19:55:38.4927] Slim::Buttons::Common::pushMode (1718) Error: Couldn't push into new mode: [OFF.superdatetime] !: Undefined subroutine Slim::Display::Graphics::setCustomChar called at /loader/0x2faecf0/Plugins/SuperDateTime/Plugin.pm line 4806. I haven't heard anything, so I'm assuming that the SB1 is simply not supported with this plugin. I seem to recall in the past that I hacked SDT to skip over these undefined calls. The downside to this, of course, is that you have to do it every time you get a new SDT. My problem now is that I can't find the file to edit. If someone could post instructions on how to get after the SDT perl I would much appreciate it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Sorry for all the posts...I just really enjoy SDT and not having it work is driving me nuts. So the latest: I upgraded SC to Version 7.3.2 - 24695. I used the extension downloader to load up SDT, and it is installed with version 5.8.3. When selected as the screen saver on my Squeezebox (original) the screen is simply blank. I get the following recurring in the server log file: [09-01-22 08:52:24.9694] Slim::Buttons::Common::pushMode (1968) Error: Couldn't push into new mode: [OFF.superdatetime] !: Undefined subroutine Slim::Display::Graphics::setCustomChar called at /loader/0x5d9a088/Plugins/SuperDateTime/Plugin.pm line 4837. I recall now that I had to edit plugin.pm in the past because of the setCustomChar call that apparently doesn't exist for my old hardware. I went to do that, then discovered that things are now kept in a PAR archive. So I unzipped that, edited the file, screwed up the folder hierarchy, fixed that, and restarted the server. Now I'm getting more errors in the log about missing routines having to do with the alarm function. So I guess I'll start from scratch. I'll remove SDT, update SqueezeCenter to the latest version, get SDT back, and see what happens. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Around the first of the year I noticed that I wasn't getting NHL score updates any longer. I figured that maybe some HTML parsing work had been done, so I went and grabbed the latest release of SDT -- 5.8.2. Installed it, and now...no screen saver at all when the player is off. The plugin is selected on the server plugins page. The settings on the server side are preserved from the previous version (weather zip code, teams to follow, etc.). I'm not sure about the player-side settings. Under Time/Weather format string the area under Default Mode has both drop downs set to Off and the fields there are all blank. I'm not sure what, if anything, I should be putting in there. This is an old original Squeezebox 1 player, so no graphics support or anything fancy. Any ideas on why I'm not getting any screensaver display at all? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
I just replaced my old router with a new Linksys WRT54GL running the DD-WRT firmware. Everything's working fine...except for SuperDateTime, which is no longer updating. I realize that this is almost certainly a network problem rather than a plugin problem, but I'm just curious if anyone has any ideas on why the plugin would suddenly have trouble getting updates. I haven't changed any of the filtering settings in the router firmware, so I suppose it's possible that the default configuration is blocking this, but that seems odd. Anyone else running this combination? You're also able to disable the icons and it will automatically adjust the spacing for you. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
I've been using the SuperDateTime plugin on my good old SB1 for quite a while now and really like it. I just downloaded the latest version (5.0.5) to deal with the MLB parsing issue. It's working, but now the time and weather information (on line 2) scrolls, which it didn't do before. I'd rather not have it scroll, because it doesn't need to (all the information fits) and it just makes it harder to read. Is there a way to tell the plugin to not scroll? Thanks. Basic: Changes are immediately displayed with no scrolling. Slide: Changes slide onto and off of the screen. Ticker: Changes scroll onto and off of the screen like a stock ticker. The setting is 'Basic' now. It's not the scrolling from weather display to game that's bothering me. That works just fine and does what the description of 'basic' says it will do. It's the display of weather information itself. Right now my display looks like this: Tonight: Partly Cloudy 3:08 PM 73f/33%/SSW 4/29.98- The first line is centered. The second line scrolls across the display. It didn't do that before. Also the forecast used to include a high or low temp. So the top line would read, Tonight: Partly Cloudy Low 53 or something like that. Sorry if I sound whiny, I don't mean to.
