The logs when I was not seeing Chromecasts or Squeezeboxes said
something about crashing.

I had Erase at Start checked so I no longer have those logs.

Just now I tried turning off the squeezebox, and restarting LMS and all
the Chromecasts are still present and working so I do not know what
happened.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2022-12-15 Thread jw111

Hi Philippe,

I had not used LMS for a while. My LMS server interface was not showing
any of my Chromecast Audios or Squeezeboxes. I found that my remaining
two Squeezeboxes were not powering on. I had another Squeezebox that I
was not using so I got it working. It showed up on the LMS menu, but
also, all of my Chromecasts showed up.

Is there a way to make the Chromecast Audios visible without any
Squeezeboxes connected to LMS?

I am using LMS 8.3 on a CentOS 7 Linux system.

Thanks,
Joe

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin

2016-05-22 Thread jw111

Thanks for the pm. The Youtube plugin is working for me now.

In my API key credentials I left the space blank for referrer web sites.
Is that a security risk? Can someone stream something to my Squeezeboxes
or is the API just a way for me to search Youtube for URLs. See quote
below:

*
Accept requests from these HTTP referrers (web sites) (Optional)

Use asterisks for wildcards. If you leave this blank, requests will be
accepted from any referrer. Be sure to add referrers before using this
key in production.
You have not set any referrers. Other applications might be able to use
this key.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin

2016-05-22 Thread jw111

I am creating the Youtube API key for use with your youtube plugin. I
was not sure how to fill out where it asks for URLs. I searched but
could not find a post that describes this. See bottom for a quote from
the API page.

1. Do I have to put the URL for my LMS for both URLs? For example:
http://192.168.1.1:9090 or :9000?

2. My server is behind a firewall, so the actual server IP address is
not seen by the outside world

2
Create an OAuth 2.0 client ID

Name
Restrictions

Enter JavaScript origins, redirect URIs, or both
Authorized JavaScript origins

For use with requests from a browser. This is the origin URI of the
client application. It can't contain a wildcard (http://*.example.com)
or a path (http://example.com/subdir). If you're using a nonstandard
port, you must include it in the origin URI.

Authorized redirect URIs

For use with requests from a web server. This is the path in your
application that users are redirected to after they have authenticated
with Google. The path will be appended with the authorization code for
access. Must have a protocol. Cannot contain URL fragments or relative
paths. Cannot be a public IP address.

Adding the server IP address to the config worked! LMS sees all the
chromecasts and the Nvidia Shield now. I tested sending music to one
chromcast and it played ok. I will have to test the others..

It seemed as if I had to turn off autosave because the server field kept
being reset to "?"

Also, I suspect that if I hit the generate button then it would also
reset the server field.

I will see tonight if adding the IP address to the plugin configuration

Can I ping a particular port to test if it is visible?
This server acts as a firewall to the outside but I don't think it

After I made this log, I added the server IP address in the server field

the same system that the plugin is on.

OK. I will not worry about the MAC address, but the problem remains that
the Chromecasts and the Nvidia Shield do not show up in the LMS player
list even though they are listed as discovered in the plugin. The check
boxes are checked next to all of them at the bottom of the plugin page.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2016-04-28 Thread jw111

I figured out my firewall was blocking the download. I unblocked it so
now the plugin installed.

I again had the problem that it was not creating the configuration file.
I tried generating it but that did not work.

I fixed it as follows:

Settings menu gave me a choice of squeeze2cast-x86-64-static or
squeeze2cast-x86-64. There was no squeeze2cast-x86-64-static so I made a
link to to squeeze2cast-x86-static. I also had to change
squeeze2cast-x86-64-static to executable. I was then able to generate
the configuration file.

I will test the plugin tonight.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2016-04-27 Thread jw111

I set up a new system with ClearOS 7.2 which has kernel
3.10.0-327.10.1.v7.x86_64.

I click on the enable box for the plugin and hit apply and then it shows
up under the heading "Updated Plugins Available" with the enable
checkbox unchecked.

If I check it again and then apply then it disappears from the entire
plugin list.

If I refresh the page then it shows up again under Updated Plugins
Available with the checkbox unchecked.

The settings link never appears.

I looked in the plugin directory
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Castbridge etc and
there is nothing there.

I looked in other plugin directories and did not see it installed
either.

I tried installing your UPNP/DLNA plugin and got the same result.

Other 3rd party plugins seem to install ok.

I am using LMS 7.9.0-0.1.146`319207
I did the steps below to get it working on this system.

$ ln -s /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/Slim /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl
$ cpanm CGI::Cookie
$ systemctl start squeezeboxserver.service

I do not see any errors in the squeezebox server log, but maybe there
are log settings that I should set to show more.

Any suggestions?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2016-04-23 Thread jw111

When I do that I get the error message:
./squeeze2cast-x86-static
FATAL: kernel too old
Segmentation fault

uname -r gives:
2.6.18-308.1.1.v5

Any idea what is the oldest kernel that will work with Castbridge?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2016-04-23 Thread jw111

I installed the Chromecast Bridge plugin v. 0.2.0.2 from Philipe's repo
onto my Linux computer that runs Clearos 5, which is based on Centos 5
or RHEL 5.

I am using squeeze2cast x86 static. I get message in setup window:
Configuration file missing - create one by clicking "generate" or, if
autosave is on, refresh this page.

I hit generate or check autosave and wait, but the message never
disappears.

I turned on debugging.

The log file shows the following messages which repeat every six
seconds.

Retarting Squeeze2cast after crash:
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/CastBridge/Bin/squeeze2cast-x86-static
-Z -I -f /var/log/squeezeboxserver/castbridge.log -d all=debug -x
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/castbridge.xml -i
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/castbridge.xml

Any ideas what is wrong or how to proceed?
