Lately, using the official Spotify app and then connecting my Touch as a connected player becomes unstable, the playback sometimes stops without a clear reason (don't know if it's caused by the Spotify app, my LMS on piCore or may network issue). I started to use the Spotty interface on the Touch because playback is a lot more stable when I use Spotty. But the 'Made for you' page where I can find the daily mixes that Spotify created is sometimes not shown in Spotty. Is that a limitation of the API? I installed spotty on my lms (running on a raspberry pi 4, picore). I am able to use my squeezebox touch as a Spotify connect player, but the audio is recorded as pcm and autoplay doesnt work. I then installed spotty helper, but that broke spotty: my touch doesnt show up as Spotify connect player in the Spotify app. How can I get it to work? I am trying to get Spotify working on my squeezebox touch. I want to use my touch as a Spotify connect player and use the Spotify app to control the touch. I installed spotty and I am able to use my touch as a connected player but I have noticed that the ogg vorbis is recompiled as pcm and auto play does not work. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spicefly SugarCube borken after upgrade to LMS 7.9.0
I upgraded LMS on my DS214Play to 7.9.0-161 (official Synology BETA LMS package). This also updated the firmware of my Touch to 7.8.0-r16754 but my Radio stayed at firmware 7.7.3-r16676. I use SugarCube and 'Block Artist Repeating for x Tracks' is set to 10, 'Do not Block "Various Artists"' is active and 'Block Album Repeating for x Tracks' is set to 20 because I have a lot of compilation albums (this way, SugarCube get's not stuck in an endless loop of songs chosen from compilation albums). This works with the Touch: various artists are not blocked, but it will block repeating compilation albums. This does not work on the Radio: the 'Block Album Repeating for x Tracks' seems to be ignored for various artists (this was working when I was still at LMS 7.7.6-112; 'Block Album Repeating for x Tracks also worked on the Radio). Why is it not working any more on the Radio? I enabled the debug log for SugerCube and did a new test with interesting results. MIP returns a list with a lot of Sigur Rós tracks, but all ascends are replayed with strange codes. Is this an issue in MIP or LMS? I use MediaMonkey to sync my mp3's to my NAS. Could I fix my issue by changing the sync settings in MediaMonkey? Is it possible to force MediaMonkey to replace accented characters with normal characters and blanks with underscores in filenames and directories to let it generate a more linux friendly filename (and full path to the mp3's)? [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP/SugerCube and accented characters
I have 5 Sigur Rós albums on my library. LMS & MusicIP both run on my Synology DS214Play. MusicIP was able to find and validate all files because total songs = mixable songs = total tracks in my library. I use SugarCube and it works fine but it never selects a Sigur Rós track. I changed mix style to 200 and mix variety to 0 in the SugarCube settings and selected a Sigur Rós. I would expect it to create a mix with some Sigur Rós tracks in it, but MusicIP/SugerCube totally ignores Sigur Rós. I copied my library to my Windows 10 desktop, installed MusicIP on there, changed style to the max and mix variety to 0 and choose the same Sigur Rós as I did on my squeezebox and MusicIP came up wit ha mix with a lot of Sigur Rós tracks. Why does it work on my W10 desktop, but not on my Synology? Is it because the linux version of MusicIP cannot handle the accented characters of is it a bug in SugarCube? How can I fix this? I start a random mix, go the the SmartMix menu and choose 'Create mix on current title'. This creates a mix with 3 songs. Don't stop the music! is on; SmartMix should add new songs when the queue is almost finished, but that does not work. I already tried a rescan of my lib and remove + installed SmartMix again, but that doesn't fix it. TrackStat has a setting 'Minimum song length to count' and 'Minumum played percent'. Why do we need both settings? Isn't 'Minumum played percent' enough? A track gets never marked as played if it's length is shorter than 'Minumum played percent'. Can you change that? How can I get a fully random mix from Spicefly SugarCube? I'm already doing this:

rand @$songIds would pick a random index. But rand sometimes just
doesn't look random enough...

Hmmm... I did a test: created a Nirvana artist mix. Ran it five times
(generate an other order of songs every time) and got the live version
of Smells Like Teen Spirit every time.
I do understand that a random function might be not so random when it
can only choose between 2 values, but 5 out of 5...
Could it be that you need to initialize rand with some random seed (like
CPU time) before you can use it (think it's like that in Java, but don't
know what program language you used for you plugin)?

One example were smartmix always takes the live version instead of the studio one: I have Nirvana Nervermind in my libraary, but also Nirvana Live at Reading. I now try to create a Nirvana artist-radio and it always take the live version of Smells Like Teen Spirit instead of the studio version. Same happens with a live cd form the Pixies (always picks songs from Pixies: Acoustic: Live in Newport instead of the studio album versions). The track title of the studio album is the same as the title on the live album. Can that explain the miss match?
