Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty 4.7.0

2021-12-22 Thread pablolie

So what are the recommended settings for Spotty under Advanced>File
Types?

Seems the standard in Linux is...

FLAC -spotty-x86_64/flac
MP3 - Disabled
Ogg Vorbis - spotty-x86_64
PCM - spotty-x86_64

I'll have to check what it is for Win10 in my home system.

it's a bit of a silly question, I am just curious...
if u look at the attached, the rate seems to have changed. I seem to
recall I did either see 320k or sometimes a FLAC rate there... now it's
CBR at 16/44 rate. Is that a change in LMS 8.2.0 or something new in the
latest Spotty? I updated both pretty much at the same time, so just
curious. It's not a problem at all since bandwidth isn't an issue in my
environment at all. :-)

Mine converts to 705kbps CBR to FLAC, which I think is the standard
setting. Since Spotify does 320k max (which IMO sounds awesome for well
recorded albums, and with badly recorded ones it doesn't matter anyhow)
I doubt anyone will hear a difference by up-scaling to PCM at the
traditional 1.4Mbps.

This is probably a stupid question but...

What versions of LMS and Ubuntu are truly recommended these days? I am
about to do a re-install of my GF's system since the below isn't working
all that great with Spotty for whatever reason:

Spotty 4.4.5

Well, after a few updates and stuff the Ubuntu machine running LMS at my

playing in the LMS WebUI, however it plays with silence then later
the next song will play... only thing I see in the server logs:

"Remove credentials" is as easy as removing the account info under

My issue continues... (only on the Ubuntu machine at my GF's)... this is
what the log file says after restart to update Spotty to 4.4.0 after I
entered my account info in the Spotty settings...

When I want to play a song and start it, it'll look like it's playing
but stays muted, then goes back to the zero mark, and then loops again.
Then eventually it starts playing. If I fast forward to the next song,
I'll observe the same behavior again... it enter a loop until then the
song plays fine. After the song finishes, it will not continue with the
playlist... no new entries in the log file, though...

And now, when I try to navigate to spotty on the LMS web menu, it'll
say...

Failed to get access token
Please check Settings/Advanced/Spotty Spotify for Squeezebox in the web

And now the next song in the playlist started playing... and now the log
file reads...

Hi... I set up a SB3 at my GF's and Spotty has been working well,
suddenly I get this...

I went and copied the web token (which I have never had to do on my home

I also run 7.9.1 and it ran without any problems.

The only peculiarity was that -at first- the main Spotify app on my PC
would not see the players. Going into Spotty 3.0 settings and
re-enabling discovery solved that promptly.

Thanks as always, MH!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.7.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-01-10 Thread pablolie

This is by now means a bug report, just wanted to point out a UI
peculiarity that probably has its source in the Spotify API.

If you use Spotify as a UI, and pick your Squeezeboxen from the "Device
Available" tab, the LMS UI (provided you switch to it) will only Display
the *first* song of the playlist in the "playlist queue white box" (see
attached), but the correct current song in the "now playing gray box".

Happy 2019!

If I didn't have so much to do (ramping up new job etc) this would be

And if nothing happens soon, a few questions -

1. Is there an LMS Developer Wiki where on can learn some basics?

I am looking forward to it, since I am about to move to a different

think the ability to leverage one's computer (with a decent audio

asset.

I am not sure what's happened - it used to work ok, but after the

of the music reproduction is too much to bear.

I've tried all I know - raising application priorities, but the synched
playing just has too many glitches. It used to work much better. It's a
shame, because I used to think it a competitive differentiator for the
Squeezebox-Slimserver combo to be able to synch up everything.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] How to improve synchronization?

2007-08-25 Thread pablolie

SlimServer 6.5.4 and SpftSqueeze 3.4 installed here (the latter throuh
the click here optio o the SlimServer).

It seems that synchronization worked better before the upgrades
(including Java 1.6.02).

I am using the Java MP3 plug in.

Any suggestions on how to further try to improve synchronization?

Thanks!

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze refuses to play some songs

2006-03-13 Thread pablolie

I have downloaded Softsqueeze from the Slimserver 6.2.2 menu. For some
reason, it refuses to play some 320K MP3s that neither Slimserver (and
the SQB3) or WMP have any problems with. There is nothing wrong or
outside of the ordinary about the songs, but Softasqueeze will just
plan refuse tp play them. They'll show up in the menu, they'll never
start playing. What could cause this?
