Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

I have been running both CC Bridge and the UPnP Bridge successfully on
my Xubuntu based server. Recently I built a box running VortexBox 2.4
where I installed the latest 7.9 nightly for Fedora. On that box, I
installed bot bridges, but ran into a problem with the CC Bridge, UPnP
works fine. Every time I try to generate the config file, it crashs and
the log file starts piling up these three error messages in what looks
random like order:

Code:

Retarting Squeeze2cast after crash:
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/CastBridge/Bin/squeeze2cast-x86-64

Ok, I did that. Now it behaves like this (LG G Watch R): When I start
the app on the watch, the screen goes blank for a very short time, then
it goes back to the apps menu on the watch. But it opens the Squeeze
Ctrl widget in my phone's notification bar. If no Squeezebox is running,
that's it. If at least one box is playing music, then I get a
notification on my watch. When I open that notification with a tap, I
see all the controls. Same thing happens, when I start Squeeze Ctrl on
my phone.

Is that how it's supposed to work?

I run LMS 7.9 (always the latest nightly) on a old Asus EEEBox (Atom

far it has played everything I threw at it [emoji1]

Here it plays "Masaaki Suzuki plays Bach":

Now I think it's time to read the manual and to fiddle with the

Well, start and stop playback is enough, the station can be in the
playlist.

I found this: http://www.androidauthority.com/nfc-trigger-tasker-409686/
Looks like there is an app called Trigger, that can handle Tasker tasks
in connection with NFC tags.

Now, I have to buy some of these tags to try it out.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Annouce: Squeeze Control, a squeezebox remote app, is now available for Android

Ok, I read on Play Store, that Squeeze Ctrl works with tasker. Now I had
the following idea: I have an Android device running SqueezePlay in our
2nd bathroom that I use every morning in order not to wake up my SO. Is
it possible to install an NFC tag somewhere that triggers Squeeze Ctrl

client as soon as the phone is placed on the tag?

Or is there an even simpler solution for this task? Suggestions?

On the official Google forums I read that since the last firmware update

Nice. The N50 is basically a N30 with USB type B and optical input so it

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Google Music Plugin

2015-10-03 Thread wortgefecht

Well, I have a running plugin again, but I can't login. First, I ran the
commands from dustinsterk's first post:

Code:

sudo apt-get install python-pip
  sudo wget https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py
  sudo python get-pip.py

Added this repo:

Code:

http://nick7634.github.io/squeezebox-googlemusic/repository/repo.xml

Then I reran the commands given earlier in this thread:

Code:

sudo apt-get update
  sudo apt-get install git
  sudo apt-get install python-pip
  sudo pip install gmusicapi
  pip install
git+https://github.com/simon-weber/Unofficial-Google-Music-API.git@develop
  sudo apt-get install python-dev
  sudo cpan App::cpanminus
  sudo cpanm --notest Inline
  sudo cpanm --notest Inline::Python

This updated python-pip and several other things. Now I have the plugin
running again, but I can't login, I get the following error even though
I have my Nexus 7 registered and running Goofle Play Music:
> Not logged in to Google Play Music. Set your username and password. No
> mobile device (phone or tablet) registered for Google Play Music. Not

When I try to dial *#*#8255#*#* on my phone, the entered digits just go

Will the Wear app cost extra, say a $1 in-app purchase like the tablet

Exactly. Again. Not everyone feels comfortable with building/setting up

essentially, if some of the Squeezebox apps out there--or even LMS
itself,as a matter of fact--start to support the Chromecast/Cast for
audio protocol, these people would get ootb devices for streaming via
LMS. If Cast for audio will be as successful as the Chromecast, I'm
pretty sure, that we'll see some Cast for audio ready AVRs soon, too.

So, from the point of view of a LMS/Squeezebox user, what's not to like?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Google starts Google Cast for Audio

2015-01-05 Thread wortgefecht

Google has announced Google Cast for audio. This integrates the same
tech behind Chromecast into speakers, soundbars, and A/V receivers to
let you cast your music from Android, iOS, and the web. First hardware
partners for speakers are Sony, LG and Denon.

http://chrome.blogspot.ch/2015/01/introducing-google-cast-for-audio.html

Would be nice, if any of the LMS apps for mobile devices could support
this in the future. That would open up a whole new range of hardware for
us :)

Thanks for the clarification :)

you please provide a few sample files?

Yes, NFO files are plain text containing XML data. For music related NFO
files see the Kodi Wiki: http://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/music

I also attached a sample album.nfo file.

Main reason I was looking into this was the fact, that I run LMS and
XBMC on my server. The latter naturally for videos, but I also added my
music to it, as a backup solution, since XBMC works now well as a UPnP
server with gapless play etc. It also streams FLAC without conversion
into mp3. I then ran and tested many available artist and album scrapers
in XBMC, all with mixed results: outside mainstream pop music there were
hardly any info scraped. Your Music Artist Info plugin gets more
pictures, f. ex. But XBMC has the option to export all pictures and NFO
files locally to your drive in the above described paths, so that one
can manually edit and/or replace them; which I did for the pictures so
far.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music Artist Information plugin

2014-11-21 Thread wortgefecht

Sorry in advance, if my questions have been answered already:

1. Where does the MAI scraper store the artist/album pictures?
2. Where and in what format (nfo, txt, ...) does it store the
artist/album information?

I am still looking for a solution to locally store this information in a
platform/software agnostic manner, i.e.

Music/artist/folder.jpg for artist picture
Music/artist/artist.nfo for artist info
Music/artist/album/folder.jpg for album art
Music/artist/album/album.nfo for album info

This way I would have consistent art/info across several platforms (LMS,
XBMC, Plex etc.) and players. For video files there are several tools
for this.
