Thanks. I will collect the DEBUG log and will post to the appropriate

Same issue started recently. Sometimes it works, but then the next DSTM
end-of-playlist cycle it may or may not. Once it stops working, only a
restart of the service gets is back again, then it may work again but
will always stop working after a short time.

Hi Schoepp.

I have had my key for at least one year, so I have no input on recent
requests for a developer key.

Good luck!

Hi Michael.

1) Entered my own Client ID, restarted LMS: This worked.

2) Updated DEFAULT_LIMIT => 1000
All playlists now appear. =]

3) Attempted play of 835 track playlist. Nothing plays. Log attached.
Smaller playlists are OK.

Hi Michael. Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I understand, you cannot remove the rate limit. What I meant was,
the rate limit is applied per client key, so Spotify would see many less
transactions from your api key if some were coming from mine.

Yes, I use Spotify WebAPI. And you are correct, it depends on how
expensive the transaction is. My typical transaction is a track search
which is not expensive. I have tweaked my calls to be on the edge of
rate limiting, so I get nearly 4000 track searches per minute. I do
this by simply delaying between each call (currently 15 ms,
configurable). Not a very technical solution, hard-coding a delay
between each call, but this was actually the most reliable. Rapid fire
consecutive calls without a delay seems to return the 429 consistently.

I currently have between 300 and 400 playlists. The playlist length
varies, some small, some a few hundred, some 2,000 to 5,000, and 4 up to
the Spotify playlist length maximum of 10,000 tracks.

I am happy to help with testing if needed.

Hi Michael.

I not only have many playlists over 200, but also have more than 200
playlists so I am limited there as well. This limit is what is keeping
me using triode spotify until the last possible minute.

I have an api key. Would it be possible to add something so I can enter
and use my own key, removing the rate limit issue for your key? I had
written functionality that automates the lookup and creation of Spotify
playlists from LastFM libraries, and I typically process nearly 4000
transactions per minute without rate limiting. When the rare rate
limiting does occur (appears to be related to overall Spotify system
load from what I have read), Spotify returns status code 429 and a
Retry-After to indicate the number of seconds to wait until sending more
requests.

If using other keys is possible, could you potentially remove the 200
limits? With my own key, this would eliminate any rate limiting risk
with your common api key.

Thank you for your consideration.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mixcloud plugin?

2016-08-11 Thread wpf7

I am seeing something with this plugin that I don't understand.

Around half of the MixCloud tracks I attempt to play will not play.
There is no apparent way to tell which ones will play or not until they
are tried. When playing a playlist, the error will just stop the entire
playlist. The problems appear to be MP4.

Now here is the confusing part. If I download the file directly from
MixCloud using http://offliberty.com/, I can save a local copy of the
MP4 file, which then plays just fine on the same players locally that
fail when playing from the MixCloud plugin.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Michael. Thanks for the response.

I only asked about adding it in SmartMix plugin since it already existed
(yes, it is perspective, I am aware it is dead).

The official plug-in does not fail. It appears to play only 500 tracks
for any playlist size that is over 500. I have many playlists over
that,

@Michael:

Is there any way you could easily add the stopgap for Don't Stop The
Music, Spotify only, to the existing Smartmix plug-in?

I prefer to use Triode's Spotify plugin, since it handles very large
playlists, so I really don't want to disable it to switch to your
protocol handler each time I want Don't Stop The Music if at all
possible.

Thanks as always, for everything you do.

2. Some MixCloud uploads are not playing. It appears to be items

where I cam play the ones at the top but not toward the bottom of the
