Okay .. messed around a little more. It turns out, if I press the

returns to the original volume. So I think it's solved.

Now, if I can just figure out how to get the Powermate to work directly
with Squeezecenter WITHOUT running Moose, for the times that I'm not.
But that takes it out of the scope of THIS thread.

New 0.69 should fix this. I couldnt reproduce it on my server though,
so let me know if it doesnt..

Hey Doc:

Still lovin' the Moose! (wait .. that didn't sound right..!)

I have a problem though when I use ContextMenu to MUTE. If I have Moose
running, it immediately returns to the original volume (basically, it
unMUTES MUTE). If I shut down Moose, then the MUTE (via ContextMenu)
holds. Is there anything I can do to stop this and still run Moose?

Dr. L, for what it's worth, here's the Perl code that ContextMenu is
running in that situation -- essentially it's emulating a button press
with the 'button' command, bypassing the 'ir' command that maps a
hardware IR code to a button name when using an IR remote or
Boom/Transporter/Receiver button:

Code:

  Slim::Control::Request::executeRequest($client, ['button', 'muting',
$client-lastirtime() + $Slim::Hardware::IR::IRMINTIME + 0.01 ], undef, undef);

And here's the forum thread where we discussed how to use ContextMenu
for muting: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54770

While your in there, an option to auto-hide the bottom pane with the
transport controls/library buttons while in full-screen mode would be
very nice. Similar to what you do with the menu bar. The net effect I
would like, is to see only the coverart and now playing info showing. I
also drag the splitter all the way down to hide the playlist which works
for that, just need the transport bar to dissapear.

Thanks

I have a similar problem with SC as well. I have to actually browse an
album before SC gets the artwork used to display thumbs, etc. and then
Moose will pick it up on a scan. However, the artwork for playing now
is there for all my albums in both SC and Moose.

Thanks for all your effort, it is appreciated! Unfortunately, I can't
fully appreciate it yet because I haven't been able to get the library
functions to work. It looks like Moose is scanning the SC database and
artwork on the server machine, but nothing happens when I select one of
the library functions from the menu or dropdown. I've never seen the
un-binding pop-up or the checkbox mentioned in the instructions from
the webpage. I have restarted SC though. My version of SC is 7.2-22900.
Any ideas?

 Kudos Dr.Lovegrove! Another wonderful update.
Quick bug(?): For some reason track ratings don't show up/update as
expected for me if I'm playing a dynamic playlist from the server tree.

Ahh, i'll look into that.. The ratings system did seem a bit strange when I was
adding it in.. It seemed like you need to do a database rescan for
certain ratings
to show up via the CLI.. I could be wrong there.. Not tried it with dynamic
playlists..

Also... UI suggestion: What would you think about making the Library |
Tree | Cover Chooser | Now Playing tabs persistent along the top of
the Now Playing pane in Moose interface even if undocked? Or
alternatively, when undocked, the main Moose window loses the playlist
 pane entirely?

Yeah, good suggestions, but i'm not sure.. Adding the tabs to the now playing
window when undocked would duplicate the library button's dropdown menu. Also
if you clicked one you'd expect the window to open embedded rather than
undocked possibly ? Maybe splitting the library button into 3 seperate buttons
would be a good plan ?

I like the idea of hiding the playlist when the library's undocked
though. Although
you can sort of do this already with the splitter control.. Just drag
it right down to
nothing. Could have an option to automatically do this when the windows open
undocked, then re-show itself when the window closes.. Hmm, I'll have a play..

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce Moose 0.68 (windows frontend)

2008-10-16 Thread Dr Lovegrove
Just uploaded a shiny new Moose 0.68 to the usual places (see sig).

Bit of a gap since the last release, but hopefully worth the wait..

The main thing i've been working on is the new playlist control in the now
playing window. It's a complete re-write and hopefully quite a bit better
than the old one.. Lots more columns, customisation, etc..

There's other stuff too, here's the list from the website:

Playlist control - Totally new playlist control with lots more
available information and better features
Playlist control - Right-click the column headers to add/remove columns
Playlist control - Drag column headers to re-arrange
Playlist control - Click column headers to sort. Clicking the column
that displays the play symbol returns the sort-mode to the default
Playlist control - Remembers displayed columns and displayed column
positions for next time
Playlist control - Added a new 'Now Playing' tab to the library which
shows the current playlist. Handy when docked in the now playing
window
Now Playing - Server notifications in the big button at the bottom
Now Playing - Add to favourites options added to playlist's context menu
Library - multi row album display if there is room (try setting
preferences-Library-Album Height to 90)
Library - 'Add to favourites' and 'Create MusicIP playlist' should
work on the context menus now
Tree - More info on most text nodes (artist on albums/tracks, etc),
better music ip support
Cover Chooser - Better item highlighting when in non-layout modes
Cover Chooser - 'Add to favourites' and 'Create MusicIP playlist'
should work on the context menus now
Options - Libraries - New 'Double-click' option which allows
double-click and enter to do different things in the library
Options - Tray Icon Toast - New 'Disabled, but use for tooltip' option
which does what 'Disabled' used to do. Disabled now never shows toast
Options - Removed Jukebox tab to avoid further confusion

Enjoy,
