Deezer issue As mentioned in previous post Deezer app is timing out on regular basis. Changed the streaming method to proxied streaming without result. Having issues with Deezer recently, opening the app menu items is lagging and returns a time out on a regular basis. Playing Deezer flow will stop frequently, manually skipping to the next song will start it for a few songs but after that it stops again. Using DSTM with LastFM will result in skipping the songs which are not on my server. Have changed the streaming method to proxied streaming but without succes. Running LMS 8.1.1 from Synology NAS, and no matter what i do it won't play FLAC with Deezer. Works everywhere else, but my Touch. I have tried playing albums I have never played before, to avoid the cache issue where it remembers the track is an mp3, but doesn't help. Should I log out of Squeeebox or something for hifi to be activated on Touch? I find it very hard to navigate the deezer plugin menu because a. it does not look like the deezer app menu structure and b. the content is never or very seldom updated. As a result there is no dynamic New Releases section. The Menu goes like this Search music. ->Works great. I find myself using this the most often Top Charts -> Tracks Albums Artists Tracks, Albums and Artists feature random stuff with no specific genre, year or country and are mostly static Picks -> Genre. Outdated stuff and mostly static. The jazz genre shows Norah Jones and Duke Ellington since I the day I installed plugin a year ago (or more) Genres -> Top Charts ( Has another level -> Tracks, Albums, Artists all which lead to static, random and outdated content) Picks. The same Norah Jones and Duke Ellington Artists. Static. Frank Sinatra and Dina Krall which Radio In summary, we do not need a three layer menu structure and the repetition (Picks -> Genre, Genre-> Picks). The tidal plugin for instance does a great job of mimicking the native tidal app and the featured music is updated regularly. I've only recently started using Deezer again, I've noticed that the track duration is incorrectly displayed. It seems to pick a random track length and then starts counting down to zero, where it remains, but the track still has some way to play to the end. Is this a known issue? This appears the same on all my displays (controller, radio, touch, material). I'm not using a paid for account, I do have an account but I'm not sure LMS is using it as I can't see anywhere to set up the account login (it's been ages since I've used deezer, and I had forgotton it was even installed, so thought I'd give it a go to see if it still worked!) I can confirm all of the issues presented in the previous for this morning. Hi we started having problems with deezer app today, both on local LMS (Netgear NAS x86 version) as well as Mysqueezbox.com. I have installed the Picoreplayer bundle including LMS 8.0. Hi Is that 8.1 LMS release available for RPI ? Is it installable in place the embedded LMS 8.0 of the picoreplayer bundle ? I've been using with great success Deezer in flac mode, including flow & seeking in tracks :) Everything seems to move to flac these days, and I was thinking with a bit of nostalgia of my first ADSL "high speed" 512k internet access. That was a quasi-miracle then after the 33.6k (56k never worked really) dial-up modems. Well, not enough for flac with best compression and now I'm streaming multiple flac while rest of the home is watching Netflix. I'm not comparing the 60's and Y2K but just a short 15 years period. Anyway... NB: what's unfortunate on my SB's is that the miniPCI board they are using is 802.11g. Anybody have heard of a 802.11n card that would be compatible? You might need to play a Deezer track outside Flow first. I'd trust what LMS says. But then the players should show the same! You could enable logging for player.streaming.direct, which would output the headers as received from the Deezer server. The times I see an mp3, I think the behavior is as follows: 1- Click on play an entire album. 2- Playback starts. For a few seconds I see a FLAC label, but then it changes to 320 mp3 for the rest of the song. 3- From the second song on, I see only FLAC. Meaning that I get an mp3 only on the first song of a playlist or album. The rest plays fine as FLAC. It's only the display which is wrong. And I haven't figured out why yet. The stream would be flac anyway. If you brought up the track information it would show flac (and I verified the actual stream, too). Cosmetics. We'll get there :-). That said this all is a bit hit and miss, because there's no documentation available, despite the link Rudi posted. They don't explain how to get the FLAC stream, or when FLAC would be available. It's all a bit of guess work right now. Eg. there's a "filesize" element - and sometimes "filesize_flac". But no word whether this would only be there if you had a HiFi subscription. But I'm using it to decide to offer FLAC or not. We'll see whether this is a valid assumption or not. Please note that it can be rough, and I can't guarantee that it's stable at all times. But I would be happy to get your feedback. Yeah, great news, indeed. The first time I built a RPi PCP Squeezebox was because I wanted to try out Deezer HiFi on it, but then it was a big disappointment when I found out that the plugin didn't support HiFi because of Deezer developers' lack of interest. Thank you very much for the heads up! Unfortunately I still can't find any info on the dev pages. I now wrote to Rudi to see whether he can help me out. No answer yet, but new findings in the responses from the Deezer API. I just played a first FLAC track from Deezer. Now the real work to provide Deezer HiFi begins :-). I dont suppose anyone wants to tweak the Deezer app to support FLAC? The IckStream app hasnt been updated in 2 years and the navigation there versus the Deezer app is really wonky... not to mention none of the radio stations nor does artist radio work. I just thought that since the Tidal app works with FLAC that the Deezer app would be able to as well. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Deezer app: can't see Deezer playlists on Squeezebox Touch (or via iPeng)
I am using our Deezer family membership (so basically same as the Premium+, I am using one of the secondary accounts) - if I set up favourite artists, albums and create a couple of playlists, using the Deezer app on my iPad, or on the PC, I can see my favourite artists and the albums on my squeezebox touch (and via iPeng) but whatever I do I can't seem to get the playlists to appear on the squeezebox. Everything is registered properly with myqueezebox.com and so on.
