For anyone looking to restore a state: I've managed to do it with
_'scene.create'
Afterwards you call that created scene to go back to the previous
situation.

How did you get the volume controls of multiple players into 1 ?card?
together with playback control?

Thanks Paul, will have a look at it.

You might be able to pick your way through this and either use a
modified version of the Python script and change it from storing light
brightness to mediaplayer volume or see if the newish functionality in
HA does it for you.

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/python-script-to-save-and-restore-switches-and-lights/52745

Another way would be to Pause/Resume around the VOIP call - in which
case you would not have to be concerned about the volume (but you would
probably have to remember whether or not the pause was necessary
otherwise a player that was paused long ago would start up at the end of
the call).

Hi all

Thanks for your contributions!
I have HA running and all 3 players are detected: so far, so good.

Since I use VoIP I have managed to reduce the the volume level when the
phone rings or making a call.
Does any one of you have an idea if, and how in rough lines, to restore
the volume to previous levels after hanging up?

If you want some examples of the things you can do with Home Assistant,
see the LMS Controls Project I created which provides full voice control
using GoogleHome of your LMS installation. Inside the script you can
find a bunch of programming examples to interface HA to LMS including
play, pause, sleep, volume, shuffle, repeat, add to queue, play songs,
some shell commands to query your lms server, etc..

Hello,

You actually can. My workaround is to control the playback of different
players with volume. So if I am entering the bathroom, home assistant
will fade in the volume of that certain player.
Another example. If I turn on the volume in living room, an automation
will fire and turn on the receiver (with harmony hub connected to home
assistant).
I have set up the players to turn on/off with group. It helps
controlling them.

Yep, an automation in HA can be used for that purpose. I do this to turn
on (and off) power to my amps that are connected to Pcp and Joggler
players when music is started in LMS.

The exact method would depend on your plug and setup and the order you
wanted to do things but I suspect several people in this forum could
help if you provide more info.

Thanks for that link!

So, since it controls LMS and from what I see on that link, you cannot
get 1 player (from a synchronized group) start playing when for instance
there is movement in a room?
I will definitely have a look into it in the near future, first some
other things first.

I'm still in the process of getting Proxmox running with a VM and some

Hi again Paul

Ok that's nice!
So does HA control LMS or Squeezelite?
Maybe I did not search for the right keywords.
Can you please give me some pointers?

TIA
