Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spicefly Sugarcube revisited
Ok, I just tested using today's 28459 build and SugarCube still fails when the seed track or next track has extended characters in its path/filename. But... MusicIP mixes are now working correctly. The resulting playlists include tracks with extended characters. The resulting mix can be generated from a seed that has extended characters and this seed track is included as the first track in the playlist. This was not the case before revision 28457 inluced in build 28459. Well, there is still something wrong here... maybe more than one thing changed after SC 7.4 build 26558 that broke both MusicIP and SugarCube. What I don't know is if the change that was made that broke SugarCube was a change that required the SugarCube plugin to be modified to comply with a new approach of the new builds or if this change actually broke something that SugarCube used to support extended characters. When the seed has extended characters and SugarCube is enabled the following error is generated: [07:57:06.9161] Slim::Control::Request::notify (2104) Error: Failed notify: Can't escape \x{FFFD}, try uri_escape_utf8() instead at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SugarCube/Plugin.pm line 1165 When the seed track has no extended characters, but the next one that is selected does... MusicIP and SugarCube work fine with extended characters in the paths/filenames on 7.4 builds prior to the SQLite switch. The last build on which everything was working fine was SC 7.4 MySQL build 26558. Looking at the 7.4 change log it looks like in revision 28457 Michael made a change that "appears" to address this issue. I guess I'll have to wait until for tomorrow's SC 7.4 Windows build to test. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67219 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

In other words, if the next track that MusicIP selects has no extended characters in its path/filename SugarCube continues to work without any issues. Hi MeSue, This sounds like the MusicIP and Squeezecenter databases are not in sync, ie. SugarCube uses the seed track from Squeezecenter and MusicIP returns the response that its got no record of the song. I should add some fallback code but I've not got around to it yet! I think I upgraded to 1.9b manually (i.e. delete previous plugin folder, unzip new plugin version to plugins folder). I may have tried using ED, but if so, I would have definitely removed the manually installed plugin first. I can't remember exactly what issues I was seeing, but I know there were problems with interaction with Erland's Dynamic Playlist plugin, which I use to run SugarCube as music for my morning alarm clock. I believe there was also an issue with MusicIP filters not working. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi Philip, Can you confirm the version that you tried? Can you also confirm whether you upgraded from a repository version to this version? I've also seen issues where it collides if you have it installed (via repository) under; e.g. c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SqueezeCenter\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins as well as manually; e.g. C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins For some reason Squeezecenter then sort of runs both at the same time which causes it all to go pearshaped. SC 7.4 fails to add the tracks that MusicIP selects to play next to the playlist. This issue was solved with SC 7.3 with MySQL a while back, but it has raised its ugly head once again. A bug has been filed, but it has not been addressed. I'm almost 100% sure that it's an SC <-> MusicIP issue, but it definitely affects SugarCube. The other bug that still around with 7.3 and 7.4 is that Fast Forwarding a track using the progress bar of the Web UI user panel while SugarCube is enable adds another track to the playlist. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67219 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spicefly Sugarcube revisited
I had installed the Spicefly Sugarcube plugin a while back--must have been last year sometime--but didn't keep it very long because at the time you could not enable it on selective players. Well, I noticed on the web page that a per player feature was added to it since I last tried it. So I reinstalled it about a week ago and have really been enjoying it all week. It's like an endless commercial-free radio station of all music I like. And if I get in the mood for an album, I just insert it with "Play Next" and when the album finishes the Spicefly mix just keeps the tunes coming.
