I've been having this problem too, with 2.2.16 on Linux. After a seemingly random amount of time, spotify is no longer logged in. /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/plugin/spotify.prefs contains Code: password: '' even after logging in (maybe supposed to?). Caching is disabled. Hello! I also have trouble remebering the password on m Synology NAS. I must say that I am VERY embarassed and ashamed to have been such a waste of your time!! Found out now that the plugin was workin' very well (maybe even all the time since I entered the password with admin credentials) - but I was stupidly just checking the 'not logged in' message and wrongfully concluded that the plugin could not log in...not even thinking of trying it out one step further. I've been puzzled by this, maybe someone can help: After a full OS reinstall on SSD, including LMS, the triode plugin does not remember the password to login to spotify. Whatever I try, after a reset of the plugin it is lost again. When I enter it manually all works fine (until the next restart). I have also tried entering the password in the prefs file, didn't work. Also, completer un- and reinstall of the plugin does not help. Hope to get it working again, since this really is one of the finest plugins available. This means the location where libspotify stores its settings is where the password is stored (in encrypted form). By doing this it is more secure as it means the plugin doesn't need to store the password in plain text. However it does mean it needs libspotify to be able to remember the password - so it is lost if you reinstall the server or if you wipe the location where libspotify stores its settings (which are in the cache). Thanks again, Peter That should work - when you add the password and click apply the password is passed to libspotify which should then save the password. This should then work when you restart the machine. The cache option will not matter as this is only for cached audio tracks. I wonder if the way you are closing down the machine is not causing libspotify to save it's settings. Could you try stoping and restarting LMS without turning off the machine to see what happens? All other entries (such as the settings for last.fm login etc.) remain intact; it's only the password that vanishes... I wonder if this could have anything to do with the installation on a SSD drive?
