Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat statistics and Spotty content
I guess the following if statement only updating lastPlayed/play counts if isFile returns true is likely to cause issues ? https://github.com/erland/lms-trackstat/blob/fe583776eafce682086a0cc2731a8676b67652f6/src/Plugin.pm#L4259 Yep, isFile() would fail on remote tracks. And the following code will likely not work if persistent handling isn’t implemented for remote tracks: https://github.com/erland/lms-trackstat/blob/fe583776eafce682086a0cc2731a8676b67652f6/src/Plugin.pm#L5000 Yes again. That's something I'm currently looking into. I suspect there are more issues than these in the plugin code so it might not be worth the time to fix issues in LMS core unless someone also is willing to fix the issues in the plugin. There are other uses to that data. Even built in to LMS. So I'll look into implementing statistics for imported remote tracks anyway. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat statistics and Spotty content
Hi Erland & Michael, I've been thinking about this case & am not sure if the fault really lies in Trackstat mishandling online tracks, because they are picked up perfectly in the Trackstat XML -including - ratings (as you can see in my screenshot above). Isn't the problem more that things like "Last Played" and "Playcount" are not stored in the database for online tracks? Because those are missing when I compare the info from the Song Info screen in the LMS UI: LOCAL TRACK: 34107 *Spotify track in my library, but without Last Played and Playcount*: 34108 Or are they added by TrackStat? Anyway, Ratings Light installed fine (hence the double ratings in the screenshots) & looks very promising! Thanks, Randy +---+ |Filename: b. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat statistics and Spotty content
Hi, First of all I want to profess how extremely happy our family is with the Squeezebox ecosystem (after all these years). And the satisfaction has even grown now that Spotty is so well integrated into the LMS library; its wonderful to have local and Spotify albums available and searchable in one place. By importing whole Spotify albums I can now add ratings to Spotify songs too, in order to have them selected & played dynamically by the various Dynamic Playlists (such as All top-rated songs in Genre x). Theres only 1 downside: it appears that the current Trackstat-Dynamic Playlist combo can only make use of the date added and the rating itself: 34092 (This is from the Trackstat xml) ...while local songs have more statistics available, such as last played and playcount 34093 This means that locally starred songs wont be repeated in a playlist (or even have them not repeated within x days), but with Spotify I get duplicates/repeats really soon. So, I guess my question is: would it be possible to have these statistics also available for online/Spotty content? Im not sure if this is a Plugin or even a LMS database problem Or maybe others have made creative solutions for this problem that I havent thought of? Cheers! This -could- be an issue with Material - you need to confirm if it is sending the library ID when making TrackStat calls. If you use Material's JSON debug (see my sig) you can see the REQ messages sent to LMS. You should check to confirm that "library_id:X" (X is the library ID, so will differ) is sent in the REQ messages. However, it is also possible that TrackStat does not use library_id even if it is passed. *Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json (Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS will be logged here. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114085 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat and Library Views
Hi All I am hoping someone can help me with a little query. I have conducted a search and saved the result as a Library View. Using Material Skin I have pinned TrackStat to the main menu based on the Library View. When I use TrackStat, however, there is no obvious difference than using it with my whole library even though TrackStat is showing on the main menu as being pinned with the library selection. I had hoped that TrackStat would limit itself to the library selection so that I could search within the library view for, say, albums which have been played the least. The results that come back are based on all my music files. Am I missing the point somewhere? Thanks. The folder /usr/local/slimserver is piCorePlayer is a symlink to /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/slimserver, so it's the same. I tried using the zip provided, but it gets erased at slimserver startup: LMS finds Trackstat, a pop-up in the web-interface says it should be updated, and gives the option to restart LMS (piCore is not restarted). After restart, the folder is gone. I think I will downgrade LMS. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat not available in LMS 8.0
I have recently updated to LMS 8.0 on piCorePlayer 6.1.0 (on raspberry). Everythins is working, but I could not find anymore Trackstat in the plugins list. I also tried manually copying the folder from an older LMS, to /slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins but the plugin gets automatically deleted... Can anybody help in getting back Trackstat? Maybe it is available in an alternative repository? Many protocols (like SMB aka "Windows Shares") handle file ownership and permissions badly, and suffer from other issues as well (file locking etc.) Also keep in mind that the owner of the file on your NAS is not the same as on the shared drive and not the same as on your computer. Access permissions will be influenced by any combination of those. Thanks - it was more unintended consequences from not really knowing what I'm doing that I am afraid of... which reminds me, I copied *persist.db* to my desktop because I was unable to open it on my NAS using DB Browser on my computer, wonder why that was? Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure that I'll have the time to attempt the import of the track_history data with the risk that I may break my LMS installation and the additional time that would take to fix. Is it possible to view the history of all the occasions when a particular track has been played? I have had a dig around with TrackStat and couldn't find anything which leads me to think that the track_history table is more for TrackStat to calculate what to populate the lists of Tracks recently played or Played long ago that you can select. You'd need to export the data from the copy and import it into the current one (deleting the data in the table before doing so). Most DB editors should be able to do this (including the CLI sqlite3 client). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat plugin - location of data to manually amend entry?
In the end, I decided to delete the LMS installation I had on my NAS, which was the *NAStools* app for ReadyNAS version *7.9.0.b7dfc80-nt1* and re-install but upgrade to version *7.9.3 - 1591161343* instead. Then restore all my TrackStat data from the backup file. I am now back to where I was but I am still keen to find out why my amendment to the playCount values for the tracks on a single release seemed to bork my entire LMS operation since that seemed to be the easiest and quickest way restoring playCount values for tracks where I have had to amend the filename and / or filepath. In addition, this version of LMS installs to a different location that the previous one and whilst I can see the files when I SSH into the NAS as root, I can't seem to do that using my file manager (Finder), which would be quicker and more useful ultimately for me. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat plugin - location of data to manually amend entry?
Thanks for your reply. Have managed to screw up my LMS, no audio even though the web GUI + iPeng app both show that tracks are playing; unable to pause tracks, clicking pause just makes the track go back to the beginning and start playing again. So... deleted persist.db and am now in the rather long process of restoring it from a TrackStat backup file which I hope will fix the above issues. The sequence of actions that got me to this unfortunate state were: - after your helpful link to 'this thread' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112532-Create-PLaylist-based-on-MediaMonkey-tags) which confirmed that the data I was looking to amend was contained with the SQLite database called *persist.db*, I thought, great, I just need to get an application that can browse and amend databases on macOS. - which was possible by grabbing a copy of 'DB Browser for SQLite' (https://sqlitebrowser.org/dl/), which has versions for most platforms. - Unfortunately, navigating to the requsitite location on my NAS (/data/.apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/cache/), I was unable to open *persist.db* using DB Browser. I also noticed that there were two other files with similar names *persist.db-shm* and *persist.db-wal*, from researching, these were temp files and when I stopped the LMS app, they disappeared and only reappeared when the LMS server was running. - As I was unable to access the db in its location, I copied it to my desktop where I was able to open it up with DB Browser, open up the table *track_statistics*, search and locate the specific rows for all the tracks on this one specific release, amend the playCOUNT value to what it was previously before I changed the filenames, saved and closed the database. - I then copied this file back to the location in NAS overwriting the *persist.db* there. - started the LMS and... no audio... - so I deleted *persist.db* and restored from the TrackStat backup file... that has now completed but LMS is still broken. What have I done? :( - server.log shows Code: frame 45: main::main (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/slimserver.pl line 1213) [20-07-10 11:41:07.5025] Slim::Schema::Storage::throw_exception (122) Error: Carp::Clan::__ANON__(): DBI Exception: DBD::SQLite::db prepare_cached failed: no such table: tracks_persistent [for Statement "SELECT me.id, me.urlmd5, me.url, me.musicbrainz_id, me.added, me.playcount, me.lastplayed, me.rating FROM tracks_persistent me WHERE ( urlmd5 = ? )"] at /apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Schema/Storage.pm line 126 [20-07-10 11:41:07.5052] Slim::Schema::Storage::throw_exception (122) Backtrace: frame 0: Slim::Utils::Log::logBacktrace (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Schema/Storage.pm line 122) frame 1: Slim::Schema::Storage::throw_exception (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/CPAN/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 598) frame 2: DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::dbh_do (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/CPAN/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 1297) frame 3: DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::_execute (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/CPAN/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 1532) frame 4: DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::_select (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/CPAN/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 2031) frame 5: DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::select_single (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/lib/DBIx/Class/ResultSet.pm line 745) frame 6: DBIx::Class::ResultSet::single (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Schema/Track.pm line 562) frame 7: Slim::Schema::Track::retrievePersistent (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Player/Song.pm line 634) frame 8: Slim::Player::Song::open (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Player/StreamingController.pm line 1221) frame 9: Slim::Player::StreamingController::_Stream (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Player/StreamingController.pm line 288) frame 10: Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Player/StreamingController.pm line 739) frame 11: Slim::Player::StreamingController::_nextTrackReady (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Player/StreamingController.pm line 693) frame 12: Slim::Player::StreamingController::__ANON__ (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Player/Song.pm line 337) frame 13: Slim::Player::Song::getNextSong (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Player/StreamingController.pm line 698) frame 14: Slim::Player::StreamingController::_getNextTrack (/apps/nastools-logitechmediaserver/slimserver/Slim/Player/StreamingController.pm line 953) frame 15: Slim::Player::StreamingController::_StopGetNext

[SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat plugin - location of data to manually amend entry?
I sometimes have to amend the folder / file names of certain releases in my music collection which will break the connection for the TrackStat plugin to retrieve the track ratings and play counts. The track ratings I can easily re-enter via the web GUI but the play count I can't. I have been digging around in my NAS where my LMS server is located, to try and find the database where it is all stored with a view to opening up, find the requisite entry for this release -after- I have amended it to restore the play counts but I can't find the file. RC3, I suspect that the only way to "drill down to the statistics listed above for an individual song" will be with the Database Query Plugin , http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Database_Query_plugin. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat - Is it possible to view the actual stored statistics
Thank you Wirrunna for your response. I have read Erland's Wiki page describing TrackStat and that is what got me interested in the available statistics. Under the section titled Available Statistics it says the following: The TrackStat plugin stores the following different statistic information: -Rating -The last time a song was played -The number of time a song has been played -The time a song was added to SqueezeCenter -A history log of exactly when each song has been played or rated So for example when I select Home/TrackStat/Choose Statistics To View/Songs/Lasts Played Songs. I get a listing of songs in the order that they were played. When I mouse over a song title I see the play count in parenthesis and the rating displayed to the right. I was hoping there was a way to drill down to the statistics listed above for a individual song. Start by reading http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/TrackStat_plugin. In the web gui you should have a TrackStat menu item - Home / My Music/ TrackStat - that has "Choose statistics to view", select the statistic, wait a second or two and the data will display. They will of course be in the old backup. If you make a new backup the duplicates will be gone in that file, so if you want to go back it's probably a good idea to keep the old backup file. Of course, as you continue to play music in your library the old backup file will be inaccurate, so it's probably not worth much to keep it after you have verified that things seems to look as you want. If it looks like your rating/playback statistics looks reasonably correct now, I would suggest that you just make sure to disable the musicbrainz setting in the TrackStat settings page and enjoy the music instead of investigating the duplicate issue further. Feels like it's going to be a lot of work to fix it manually and I doubt it's worth the trouble if it looks reasonably correct now. chaug wrote: Anyway, the main purpose of this post is to say that I think I found out at what points the missing ratings are produced (i.e. the reason why I have many trackstat records with playcount 1 but without rating, despite autorating being turned on): It seems to occur when I skip ahead to the next song. This works fine, according to my quick test above. But if I skip ahead at a later point in the track, the rating should not be decreased (and neither should it be increased unless more than 95% have been played). It seems that the error of missing ratings occurs in that window where the previous rating should be neither decreased nor increased. Apparently, Trackstat is so busy complying with the do not change previous rating rule that it forgets the rate unrated track rule. Is that possible? I can confirm that you have found the problem, the behaviour in TrackStat currently is that if an unrated track is played longer than the lower limit but not long enough to increase the rating it's left unchanged rater than set to the default rating value. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat and duplicate Musicbrainz GUID's
Just an idea to get round the problem of track GUID's being duplicated on multiple releases (as explained in Erland's wiki - http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/TrackStat_plugin)... If files were to be tagged with the Musicbrainz *release* GUID as well, this value could be used by Trackstat along with the track GUID to identify a unique instance of a particular recording. Is that doable? Or has it been suggested before, in which case berate me for my lack of searching... :) It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. It also lead to significantly reduced size of the nightly trackstat backups (from 26 MB to 6 MB) and it also looks like the backups are not increasing more than what you'd expect from the additional history records. Regarding data loss discussed above: I did not fix this manually (i.e. merge those records so that the correct last played date, rating and playcount gets imported), but I understand that the information is still in the backup file so that I can do that whenever I feel that the stats are too messed up, right? OK, that explains - at least partly - why the backup file is growing continuously. However, I still don't understand why it should grow on days when clearly no song has been played or added (i.e. when nobody was home). More importantly, this double structure of the backup tells me that Excel was not doing a perfect job when automatically transforming it into a table. At least, it wasn't clear to me that there are two types of records. So I went back and chose a different way of importing the xml file (where you get to map the fields yourself) and I mapped only the track entries into the table and ignored the history. 16464 The result is not so much different, however: There are 52000 records (instead of 9000) and when I remove duplicates it takes away 41000 leaving me with 11000, i.e. there are 41000 completely identical track records and another 2000 partly identical, where (presumably) the url is the same but other fields differ. chaug wrote: I don't understand how you can say that restore will never remove data and then say that it will overwrite information. Is overwriting not a way of removing? Sorry for the confusion, just to clarify this: Let's say you have 4 duplicate records for file1 in the TrackStat database. And that you remove all duplicates for file1 in the backup, so you only have one entry for file1 in the backup file. Now, if you restore the backup file one of the 4 duplicate records in the database will be updated during the restore process but there will still be 4 records in the database. The only way to remove information from the TrackStat database is to use the Remove all data or Delete unused statistic buttons in the TrackStat settings page section Backup/Restore/Clear. This behavior is intentional to minimize risk that a user accidentally do something that delete TrackStat data. chaug wrote: I just wanted to update my analysis of the XML file in case anyone ever wants to do the same. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat: Unrated tracks appear as rated with 1 star
Yes, I can follow those instructions, but I'm still not sure whether this is getting to the source of the problem. The thing is that my duplicate MB tags are not due to the same song existing on different records. Maybe I got some of those, but the vast majority of what is blowing up my trackstat database are duplicate records of the exact same same file. The one with the most duplicates actually had 652 dupes, and there were many more with hundreds of duplicates. I have discovered a convenient feature in Excel that actually allows you to remove duplicates with just a few clicks. I did that and it removed 45000 duplicates (and I defined a duplicate as having the exact same data in each and every column of the table). After that cleanup, I still have 2 records left,, while I have around 9000 tracks on my server. The largrest number of duplicate MB tags for any one track is now 7. The reason why there are still duplicate MB tags left is that those records differ in some other aspect, such as date added, last played, playcount or rating. But not (except some very few exceptions) the URL (i.e. the file). I can see that by having excel highlight all duplicate values within a specific column. As far as I can see, this means two things: one is that my (main) problem is not the one described at http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin#Issues_with_duplicate_musicbrainz_tags And second, I will loose quite a lot of data if I let trackstat do the cleaning up by following by following the instructions at http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin#Restore_statistics_after_upgrade.2Freinstall because (I suppose) trackstat cannot reconcile the different playcounts, last played dates or ratings that its database contains for identical files (not just identical MB tags, which will be gone by then). As regards the first point, I would like to understand what the root of the problem is. Unfortunately, I have not the slightest clue. As regards the second point, I can at least make a suggestion for an alternative way of getting rid of the duplicates: I guess I need to find a way to merge (rather than delete) the remaining duplicates in my backup file, i.e. to tell Excel that it should keep the latest played date, the highest rating, and add up all the playcounts, or something like that. Or can Trackstat do that? P.S. One quick comment on the 'Issues with duplicate musicbrainz tags' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin#Issues_with_duplicate_musicbrainz_tags): why is this an issue anyway? As far as I understood things, the Musicbrainz policy is that duplicate IDs will only be given to identical -recordings-. Which makes sense, because it simply is a duplicate and I thought the whole point of enabling Musicbraniz tags in Trackstat was that it will make Trackstat recognize these duplicates as such and treat the same song as the same, even when it exists in two files, e.g. one on the original album, and another one in some compilation so that if I rate the track on the original album, the same rating will be applied to the same song in the compilation. I'd consider this a feature, not a bug, as they say. *Server*: LMS 7.7.3 on a ReadyNAS Ultra 2 *Players*: Radio, Touch, Duet (Receiver Controller), Boom, Squeezeplayer on iPad 2 *Remote control apps*: iPeng (iOS), SqueezePad (iOS), Squeezecontroller (Android) *Important plugins*: Trackstat, Spicefly Sugarcube, Lazy Search Music, Switch Player, SmartMix, Custom Browse chaug's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=47641 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102245 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm just a bit afraid that it can cause more problems, because it can take a while to run and I know some user managed to corrupt their whole LMS database by aborting it in the middle of the run. If you try it, please make sure you have shutdown LMS and taken a copy of the library.db and persist.db files before, so you can restore them if something goes wrong. chaug wrote: As regards the second point, I can at least make a suggestion for an alternative way of getting rid of the duplicates: I guess I need to find a way to merge (rather than delete) the remaining duplicates in my backup file, i.e. to tell Excel that it should keep the latest played date, the highest rating, and add up all the playcounts, or something like that. I'd consider this a feature, not a bug, as they say. It's a feature on musicbrainz side and it's the right way for them to handle it. The problem for TrackStat is that it assumed that it would identify a track uniquely (which it did a couple of years ago), but TrackStat can't presume musicbrainz tags exists since only some users have musicbrainz tags, so TrackStat database is based on the file path and it just use musicbrainz tags (if they exist). Due to this TrackStat will have two entries if you have two tracks in your library that represents the same recording. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but due to how TrackStat refresh operation is implemented the tracks with same musicbrainz id will be duplicated each time the TrackStat refresh operation runs. It would be possible to fix this but it would significantly increase the scanning time so I've avoided it so far. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat: Unrated tracks appear as rated with 1 star
OK, I need to qualify this and perhaps change my question. I said that I have no more unrated songs because when I selected Trackstat - Not rated - Not rated songs in the webinterface, I got an ampty list (after almost a minute of waiting). It turns out that that list is not empty but the connection to the server timed out or sumething. I noticed that there are unrated songs since they show Unrated in their context menu. So I ran the Trackstat - Not rated - Not rated song thing again, this time on my SB Touch which had the advantage that it actually told me that it lost connection to the server and allowed me to reconnect. After several tries it did reconnect and showed me a list of unrated songs. However, that list is rather strange, since 90 percent of the first 200 entries are the same song. In addition all of the songs have a playcount of 2 or more, which doesnt make sense since I have Trackstat Autorating turned on ever since I use it so that there should not be any unrated song with a playcount greater than 0. So, in other words, I might say that my strackstat database seems to be in a mess and I wonder if there is any way to edit it manually, e.g. in an excel file or so in order to fix at least the most obvious errors? *Server*: LMS 7.7.3 on a ReadyNAS Ultra 2 *Players*: Radio, Touch, Duet (Receiver Controller), Boom, Squeezeplayer on iPad 2 *Remote control apps*: iPeng (iOS), SqueezePad (iOS), Squeezecontroller (Android) *Important plugins*: Trackstat, Spicefly Sugarcube, Lazy Search Music, Switch Player, SmartMix, Custom Browse chaug's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=47641 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102245 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat: Unrated tracks appear as rated with 1 star
I have managed to open the latest trackstat backup file in excel (just drag it into excel!). It takes a couple of minutes until Excel displays the 20 MB xml file as a table, but it does. And what I see is that although I have about 9000 songs in my library, the trackstat database has more than 65000 entries. Many songs have multiple entries (I saw one that is represented 250 times!) with the exact same data. From what I can see when I look at the file size of the nightly trackstat backups, this magic increase of songs happens incrementally every day as the file size increases between 50 and 300 kb every day, even on days when I was on vacation and not a single song had been played, added or deleted. So let me modify my question once again: if I ever manage to clear up that mess manually in Excel, will trackstat be able to re-import the resulting xml file? And, of course: how can the duplication of tracks in trackstat be avoided in the future? *Server*: LMS 7.7.3 on a ReadyNAS Ultra 2 *Players*: Radio, Touch, Duet (Receiver Controller), Boom, Squeezeplayer on iPad 2 *Remote control apps*: iPeng (iOS), SqueezePad (iOS), Squeezecontroller (Android) *Important plugins*: Trackstat, Spicefly Sugarcube, Lazy Search Music, Switch Player, SmartMix, Custom Browse chaug's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=47641 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102245 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat: Unrated tracks appear as rated with 1 star
Do you know if you have musicbrainz tags on your music files ? MusicBrainz change philosophy a couple of years ago so the same song on multiple albums got the same identity and this can cause duplication of entries in the TrackStat database tables. There is an Enable musicbrainz tags option in TrackStat that can be used to disable the musicbrainz related logic if this is what's causing the problem. To get rid of the duplicates, I think it should be enough to use the Remove all data option in TrackStat settings page in the Backup/Restore/Clear section and after that restore the TrackStat backup. If you have musicbrainz tags and is affected by the new behaviour of musicbrainz tags, you need to disable the Enable musicbrainz tags option in TrackStat settings page. After this, you should be able to: 1. Shutdown LMS and take a backup of the persist.db and library.db files in the LMS Cache directory (just as an extra precaution in case something goes wrong) 2. Start LMS 3. Goto TrackStat settings page to the Backup/Restore/Clear section and click Remove all data 4. Specify the full path to the backup file (the one with all the duplicates) in the Backup file field 5. Click Restore from file 6. Wait, this can take a few hours in a long library. After the restore operation is finished you will get a log entry in the LMS server.log saying that restore operation is finished. The whole process is described on TrackStat documentation page: - Clearing data: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin#Issues_with_duplicate_musicbrainz_tags - Restoring backup: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin#Restore_statistics_after_upgrade.2Freinstall Finally, just to be clear, you don't need to remove any duplicates from the backup file, the restore process should make sure it only restores one of the duplicate entries. It's important that you disable the Enable musicbrainz tags option, else you are very likely going to get new duplicates again every day. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat Not Showing Rating For Newly Added Albums
Hi erland Well, that seems to have fixed the issue. It was MusicIP after all. Changing the MusicIP setting to Only read mixable status from MusicIP and carrying out the process you mentioned has put everything right again. I've added a couple of albums and done rescans and Trackstat statistics are all working as expected and surviving the LMS restart. Also, the database is no longer showing the issues. I have no idea why things were working before, I can't think anything changed. At least now though everything is working as it should (and scans are quicker due to that MusicIP setting change). How is MusicIP plugin configured in LMS Settings ? Is it set to Only read mixable status from MusicIP or Import all song data from MusicIP ? If it's set to Import all song data from MusicIP, could you try to change it to Only read mixable status from MusicIP as described below and see if that makes a difference ? To verify that it makes a difference I suggest that you: 1. Before the change, in Database Query plugin, create a new data query of type Free form query with the SQL statement: Code: select url,urlmd5 from tracks where urlmd5!=md5(url) and audio=1 When you run this query you should get a couple of matches. 2. Change the MusicIP setting to Only read mixable status from MusicIP and perform a full rescan in LMS 3. After the change, in Database Query plugin, run the query you created in step 1 and verify that it doesn't return any rows. If point 1 returns result and point 3 doesn't, it means that this was the problem. In this case, you now need to go through the TrackStat clear + restore procedure I described earlier in the thread to cleanup the TrackStat data: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin#Upgrade.2FReinstall If the above didn't help, I would also suggest that you temporarily uninstall the SugarCube plugin and repeat the full rescan and run the above query in Database query plugin afterwards to verify if it made any difference. I suspect SugarCube doesn't write to the database and isn't the cause, but it's hard to say for sure since the SugarCube source code is encrypted. This should all make it possible for us to rule out MusicIP and SugarCube plugin so we know if they are the cause or not. I managed to clear all the problems, however adding new music resulted in the same issues as before and I was back to square one. Like you say it's probably something else other than Trackstat causing this. I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to go from here. I'll play with things and see if I can get any success. This is what a typical one has in it's tags: Code: ALBUM: Searching For Sugar Man - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack ALBUM ARTIST: Rodriguez ALBUMARTIST: Rodriguez ARTIST: Rodriguez DATE: 2012 GENRE: Soundtrack ORGANIZATION: 88725418502 / CD REPLAYGAIN_ALBUM_GAIN: -9.78 dB REPLAYGAIN_ALBUM_PEAK: 0.976470947 REPLAYGAIN_TRACK_GAIN: -9.87 dB REPLAYGAIN_TRACK_PEAK: 0.969879150 TITLE: Sugar Man TOTALDISCS: 1 TOTALTRACKS: 14 TRACKNUMBER: 1 VENDOR: reference libFLAC 1.2.1 20070917 I checked in other programs and all tags are showing here. All my FLAC files are single tracks, not a single track per album. Some of these albums are in mp3 format, not all are FLAC. Looking at the Database query info, all the issues are surrounding these same albums. It is duplicating the trackstat info in the database, presumably every time it rescans. Is there a way to rebuild the database and retain the ratings? softstag's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62131 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100480 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

softstag wrote: Is there a way to rebuild the database and retain the ratings? Would it be possible for you to shutdown LMS and send me a copy of library.db and persist.db files so I can take a look at them ? They are located in LMS Cache folder and it's important that you shutdown LMS before copying them. Make sure to zip them else they are going to be gigantic. Before you try to restore the database, make sure to take a backup of library.db and persist.db so you can go back if something goes wrong. To restore the database and keep ratings, you should be able to follow the upgrade instruction on TrackStat documentation page, basically you first backup then clear TrackStat data and then restore the backup file: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin#Upgrade.2FReinstall Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets (both free and commercial)' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). I'll send you a PM with details of where you can download the db files from. I did try over the weekend to backup, clear and restore the trackstat data, but didn't have success in getting rid of the errors. softstag's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62131 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100480 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat Not Showing Rating For Newly Added Albums
Can you look in the server.log if there any errors either directly after you change rating of a newly added album or after LMS has been restarted ? You can post it or mail it to me if you don't know what to look for. Just to make sure, you aren't changing the rating while LMS is still scanning, are you ? I'm asking because TrackStat can't change ratings while LMS is rescanning, so it will queue up these requests and write them to the database after scanning is finished. You can see if LMS is scanning by looking in Media Scan Details section in LMS Settings/Information Another thing that could be good information when troubleshooting is to install the Database Query plugin and run it's Squeezebox Server Inconsistency/Problems and TrackStat Inconsistency/Problems, just be aware that these reports can take quite a bit of time to generate in a large library or on slow hardware, so if you have a large library or is running LMS on slow hardware (NAS or similar) it's probably not a good idea to do this before we have taken a closer look at the server.log. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat Not Showing Rating For Newly Added Albums
Hi I've been using Trackstat for over a year to rate my music. Up until recently this has worked flawlessly and I've no issues. Recently I've noticed some strange behaviour. For albums I've added recently, the track rating does not survive a LMS reboot. Oddly, if I add or change a rating for a track on an album that has been there a while then it changes and is still there after a reboot. I created a backup of the Trackstat to see if I could see anything. Sure enough the data is being saved to the database - those tracks I rated have the appropriate rating in the database, but in LMS they are showing as unrated. An example from the database is as follows: Code: track urlfile%3A%2F%2F%2FC%3A%2FMusic%2FMano%2520McLaughlin%2F2013%2520-%2520Peach%2520Got%2520Bones%2520%5BFLAC%5D%2F07%2520Colour%2520Me%2520In.flac/url added1385661830/added rating80/rating /track I also noticed that the playCount and lastPlayed fields are not showing for these tracks, even though I know I have played them several times. I can't see that I have done anything to cause this issue to happen, and I can't see why it is doing what it is doing. Any help would be appreciated on this. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat statistic information summary
I would like to use the statistics for deeper analysis and for information while browsing, no online publishing. If there is nothing ready to use at the moment, I think I'm fine with the existing browsing possibilities. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat statistic information summary
Uups, I must admit that I only used TrackStat for Dynamic Playlists until now. After your hint, I must say that there are already a lot of informations in the TrackStat Menu. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! Nevertheless - is there a way to create a html or pdf report of the TrackStat statistics? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat statistic information summary
Hi, I am using TrackStat for a while now and would like to have some statistic summary like most played song, most played album, songs in order of play-count, I know that the info is there and that I can see it per file and do playlist generation etc. with it, but I have not found a way to visualize all the statistic info. I would like to see the info via webinterface or via other GUI/frontend. Is there a way to do that? exile wrote: ag I looked through the thread on that process and sadly i'm still a bit lost. Do I need to make a custom tag and map the trackstat info to that tag or will the trackstat playlist plugin actually write ratings to the files itself? I haven't done this myself, so it's probably a good idea to ask in a separate thread since the people with the right knowledge might not read this thread. However, from what I've understood, the basic idea is to generate a playlist in LMS which contains all tracks with a certain rating, then in JRiver Media Center I think it's possible to select all tracks in the playlist and set the rating to them and JRiver Media Center will write the ratings to the file. I'm not sure if Google Music will read the ratings from tags, so before you spend too much time on this you should probably try if the Google Music uploader is able to do this. It's possible to generate playlist with all songs of a certain rating using my free Playlist Generator or TrackStat Playlist plugins, my recommendation is to use Playlist Generator since TrackStat Playlist is known to cause some performance issues if you have it active during normal music listening. It might be possible to do something similar by opening the playlist in Windows Media Player, iTunes or some other software which is able to write ratings to the tag in the files.
