Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Triode's plugins
Unfortunately I was not aware of the shutdown of the Google code repo and of its importance for us SBT addicts :(. When I accidentally reset one of my SBTs I lost the EDO app and the required kernel patch. Thanks God I found this most valuable thread but there is nothing being said about where to get the kernel patch files and how to apply it after manual install of the EDO files. Michael Herger's replacement repo for Triode's apps apparently does not contain any apps - no difference after inserting the URL-string into LMS's additional repo line and restarting the server. Manual install of the files worked fine but since the required kernel patches were missing the EDO plugin is defunct. Michael, I really appreciate you hosting Triode's plugins, but when I got to "triodeplugins.herger.net" I only get the message "Thanks for your interest". No files, no .XML Did I miss something? No, you don't need to go there nor see anything in there. Just go to Settings/Plugins and install whatever you need. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Triode's plugins
Hi, I have several Squeezebox Touch devices with Enhanced Digital Output (EDO) installed on each of them. It has always worked well for me, and is very important to me as I have a growing collection of music at sample rates up to 192 kHz. Ever since Logitech stopped manufacturing Squeezebox units I have been concerned that the day will come when EDO will become unavailable to me, in the event that I need to reinstall it on one of my devices for some reason. From the post below it sounds like that day has arrived, or is at least getting closer. I am not a programmer. But I have wondered whether it is possible to store the code for EDO on a computer on my local home network, and direct my Squeezebox Touches to install EDO from the local machine instead of over the Internet as in the past. I actually would be willing to pay a programmer for their time to investigate and set this up for me, and carefully walk me through the steps that I need to take on my end. I think the Touch with the EDO enhancement is a great product, and I would like to use it for many years into the future for my music listening. I am willing to make this investment if it makes that possible. Is anyone interested in helping? Thank you. mherger wrote: > As many of you might have noticed Google finall pulled the plug on their > > code hosting sites. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Triode's plugins
As many of you might have noticed Google finall pulled the plug on their code hosting sites. This means that many 3rd party plugins are no longer available to the Squeezebox users. For many the most painful loss will be Triode's collection of excellent exentions for LMS as well as players. I therefore decided to provide access to his download files through my web server (triodeplugins.herger.net). I'm not sure whether this will work transparently or whether you'll be prompted to update etc. But I'll give it a try anyway. Please note that I do NOT plan to do any maintenance work or support for these plugins. I only provide the web space to guarantee access to the plugins and applets. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
