Any thoughts? My thoughts... 1. XM and Sirius are not fully merged yet. I am on the phone with XM customer care right now (I have two cars with XM installed) and they cannot assist with anything Sirius related. 2. Sirius online for existing Sirius subscribers is the same as XM, 2.99 a month... not sure what it is for internet only, or if they will give the discounted rate to an XM subscriber. 3. As far as why Logitech supports Sirius and not XM... my best guess is that since eventually XM will probably go away as a result of the merger, they do not want to invest time and development resources in a platform that has a limited shelf life. I am sure that we can argue that this is a shortsighted view and forces longtime SB/XM users to either live with less reliable plugins (no offense to the volunteers who do this hard work on their own time and dime) or either go with Sirius or look hard at what other options there are other than SB. Personally I have cars with XM installed in stereo so it is harder for me to switch to Sirius. If I had add-on equipment or portable players it would be easier. -- dcdivenut dcdivenut's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9396 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?
Good, so not just me... Now, anyone know how to debug this? I'm guessing either: a) the host has changed, and for some reason all these tools use the same host (except the website) b) some part of the discovery protocal has changed c) somehow they are blocking non-web streamers If it's (a), we can work around that with a hosts file update. If it's (b), we have to wait for updates to the tools (and unfortunately the older tools like uXM will likely never work again). If it's (c), we're screwed, and that sucks, and seems lame of SIRIXM. *In any case, the symptom in all cases is that the authentication is failing.* -- AbMagFab AbMagFab's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18128 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?
A new 7.4 compatible version of the XMRadio Online Plugin is available here http://code.google.com/p/xmradioplugin/ There where a lot of changes necessary to get this working on SqueezeBoxServer, so please help by testing it and reporting any bugs or issues (or that it works at all on your hardware) by email. Now, copy this URL into a SC favorite and you are good to go. Certainly not as nice or functional as the XM plugin, but it does work for now.. Works great! Had to manually edit the favorites in the conf files, but otherwise works good enough. Is there any way to associate a custom image file to be displayed when using these channels/favorites? I'd like to use the XM logos for the few channels I have programmed with uXM. Yep, finally got around to finding and trying uXM, and it's working. Thanks for the tip. I edited the Favorite to be my local IP rather thn the public IP given by uXM. Sausage. I haven't tried this method on my squeezes yet, but this was the method I used to get XM on my iTouch until they released the satellite radio app. -- paulisded paulisded's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25959 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Doesn't work for me. I got the following URL: mms://jschall.zapto.org:9000/streams/stream?bandwidth=highnum=2r=1256081378 from uXM, pasted it into a new Favorite, saved, tried to play, sausage. - Jeff Schallenberg Mont Saint-Hilaire, Québec -- jschall jschall's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11127 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?
Sorry, I should've been more specific. I was referring to adding the link to your favorites under Squeezecenter, not Squeezenetwork. I'm not sure why your URL includes your public address instead of your LAN address (192.168.x, 172.16.x, 10.x.something). Did you substitute that yourself? Replace the name portion (the part between http:// and :9000) with your internal IP address and add it to your local favorites and try to play it that way (when connected to your local server). Otherwise, if you do want to play it via Squeezenetwork, you *should* be able to do so also, but if you haven't already, you'll need to setup your router to forward port 9000 into the LAN IP (which needs to be static) of your system that's running Squeezecenter. You might want to enable a username/password for the server though unless you don't care about others accessing your system via the Internet (especially considering you have your public DNS name in your post). Hope this helps. -- cff cff's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22610 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

wharfrat;467060 Wrote: jdc - exactly. Instead of calling an API (because there isn't one), the plugin makes calls to classes within SqueezeBoxServer. Unfortunately with the 7.4 release, the class that the plugin uses to reach the internet changed which stops it from working. I'll prepare another version. I await breathlessly. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?
Hello everyone! After a year or two of putting my Squeezebox aside I decided to hook it up again with the new software. I am an XM radio subscriber paying for additional online streaming. Was a bit disturbed to find the SIRIUS plug-in does not work if you have an XM account. Thought they were SIRIUS/XM now. Anyhow, thanks to a search, I found this thread. I look forward to an XM plug-in being made available. Question while I am here Will Squeezebox work on its own to stream online content without a computer? For example, if I take my squeezebox to work and connect it to their WiFi, can I still get XM RADIO (when available) without the need of a computer to stream it? Thanks in advance and I am subscribing to this thread in hopes of a plug-in announcement. -- NJRonbo NJRonbo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3635 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?
NJ: No, you need a server to use the XMRadio plugin. For the time being, you'll need to install one of the previous versions of squeezecenter, e.g., 7.3.3. There's a new feature in the 7.4 squeezeboxserver that refuses to perform background I/O during an idle, so I'll have to prepare a new version.
