It would be nice to know which one is the culprit! That a good idea! Meanwhile I've made some further tests. I have deinstalled all applets from my controller and radio. And the bug went on. My server waked up every 15 minutes afteer he felt asleep for one minute. For the last I made a downgrade from firmware 7.5.1 r8837 to 7.5.0 r8673 (mysbs) on my radio and controller. The last night my server slept like a baby ;-) So I'm thinking that the reason could be the last firmware update which was offered just at the same time, when I installed the applets. Nautilus;552797 Wrote: > Great news, thanks a bunch (in advance)! I'll start going through the > Sony codes once you release the new version, it'll make the testing lot > easier (I hope) than to convert first to pronto...:) Great new again (for me), made a bit of a progress yesterday when I decided to try out the Lirc codes once more (first time with this applet). First I tried a remote that looked somewhat like my receiver's (STR-DG820) remote, i.e. RM-ED006 (http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/sony/RM-ED006) though I knew it said it's for TV. To my surprise I ended up controlling my Mirai TV...:) Then I went trough the Sony codes in date order and noticed one that was for controlling Sony Stereo receiver (http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/sony/RM-AAU014) and hit success with this one. Once turned on, the commands available work like a charm. To turn the device on, I need to press the power or one of the input commands repeatedly a few times to succeed. I tried to put the to three and it seems to be ok now, is this the preferred method in this kinds of situations? Now the only thing missing would be to be able to control this through iPeng interface through iPhone/iPod and with a right positioning it would be possible to command all A/V equipment remotely, without a line of sight...:) But I guess it's not possible to "connect to" SBS with iPod nonetheless try to control this app through this way. In any case, I'm verry happy now for being able to do the basic controlling with SBS as well. There are some commands missing from RM-AAU014 that I'd like to use, e.g. A/B speaker selection, but I guess it's not any easier to try to determine those codes based on the ones in RM-AAU014? -- Nautilus Nautilus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19856 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66795 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

To get rid of it properly, you need to say how you installed it as it can be installed either standalone or via SBS web ui. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79443 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I've also no idea how to go about installing > PM-Utils on the QNAP because it doesn't seem to be installable via > Itsy. Unfortunately, I have no experience with QNAP devices. The only NAS device that I've ever played around with is a very old ReadyNAS 600...and I gave up on trying to run SqueezeCenter on that years ago. I assume you've used the 'Search this thread' tool to find all the previous QNAP related posts? Various folks have drifted through this thread asking your same question...and then they've disappeared. I don't know if it's because they gave up...or because they got it working. If the latter, I really wish they had posted their recipe for others' benefit. Anyway, there are a couple of different ways you can try to go about this. If the QNAP allows you root access via ssh to it's operating system, then you can use PuTTY & WinSCP to do some spelunking. You'll also have to pose some questions on forums devoted to your device. But basically, your task will be to: 1). Determine what user account the squeezeboxserver service runs under on the QNAP. On a regular linux distribution, SBS runs under the account 'squeezeboxserver'. If you can get ssh+root access to the QNAP, you can try the command: # ps -U squeezeboxserver If that command lists processes 'owned' by the squeezeboxserver user, then you're in business and 'squeezeboxserver' is the 'owner' and will be the account name you'll give permissions to in sudoers. But if no processes are listed, then you might try a sort of reverse lookup: # ps axu Again, look for the SBS related processes and note the numeric ID of the SBS process owners. If you get an ID (e.g. 110, rather than a name), then have a look in /etc/passwd and see if you can associate that ID with an account name. In any event, once you get the account name, you'll have the first piece of the puzzle as to what will go in sudoers. I'm not familiar with the QNAP's sudoers format, but there may be examples commented out in the file. 2). Your second task is to determine which commands actually effect shutdown/restart/suspend/hibernation on the QNAP. And there, you're better off posing questions on a QNAP forum. Good luck, and please do post your results back here. Again, you're not the first person to trod down this path. PS: make a backup of your original, unchanged sudoers file first! And when attempting to modify sudoers, try using the # visudo ..command..if it's present on the QNAP. visudo is the 'safe' way to modify sudoers. Any changes you make to sudoers by visudo get checked for correct syntax before the changes are applied. This is a good failsafe. If you're not familiar with 'vi', do a google search to get a brief vi tutorial. I find vi fairly counter-intuitive to use, so I'd advise having a command reference handy. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

This sounds like the authorisation routine is not calculating the key correctly. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing
Hi BPA, thanks for the quick reply back. The applet allows you to have a softsqueeze client embedded in the web browser. This is the only way I know to get a Squeezebox client from my Android based mobile phone. I'm actually very surprised I couldnt find a single Squeezebox client for the Android OS; not even in alpha/beta stage. Anyway, When I enter the URL below, i get the following error: "Failed to get Softsqueeze Libraries." Where is the actual (default) location on a Windows file system? I'm guessing I need to manually copy the jars and other related files to the location? I've already spent a couple of hours trying to figure out where the files go; and,if they are even copied after I enable/download the Softsqueeze plugin through the server settings. bpa;553282 Wrote: > This is the URL which launches the applet code although I think the > applet.html needs modifying to work with change Softsqueeze.jar > > > http://localhost:9000/plugins/softsqueeze/html/applet.html > > > What is this applet supposed to do ?
