I thought that building poppler without splash became deprecated/unmaintained
when building with splash became the default, and the cmake and ifdef macros
were left only to make it easy to revert in case someone found a situation that
required building without splash.
Does the recently improved overprint support require splash?
Can any of the pdf viewers using poppler provide timings to justify building
without splash?

Subject: [poppler] Anyone against removing the ENABLE_SPLASH cmake define
It's been partly broken for a long time, so I'm proposing (and Hubert is
executing) to remove it.
