On firefox 3.X, it depends on a binary component not shipped for OpenBSD

   Yes it is. Trying to configure it on my 4.0beta12 (amd64):
   It longer says Unknown error; it accepts the login,
   the password, and the sync key, and does nothing,
   leaving me with the option of either clicking Next

  Here's what i get on the error console when trying to set an account.
  Grepping the source, it comes from services/sync/modules/service.js.

  I have to admit i never tried setting it. Apparently, some work is
  needed to manually build WeaveCrypto, according to
  https://wiki.mozilla.org/Services/Sync/FxSync/Developer/Building#Building_Crypto

 oh, fun. set services.sync.log.cryptoDebug to true, retry, here's what
 happens:
 WeaveCrypto: Trying NSS library without path
 WeaveCrypto: Trying again with path
 /usr/local/lib/firefox-4.0b12/libnss3.so.22.0
 WeaveCrypto: init failed: Error: couldn't open library

 of course it fails, as we use systemwide nss in
 /usr/local/lib/libnss3.so.27.0

fwiw, i've got it working, but it's kind of a hack... as we have to
hardcode libnss3 SO_VERSION into initNSS().

if you want to test, vim omni.jar as root (it's a zip, so vim can handle
it), open WeaveCrypto.js, and replace
let path = ctypes.libraryName(nss3);
by
let path = '/usr/local/lib/libnss3.so.27.0';

Have to find a better fix.. tried /usr/local/lib/libnss3.so, but
ctypes.open() doesn't resolve the full name as dlopen() does.

graphics/pecl-imagick - Cannot load specified object

2011-02-28 Thread Jason Dixon
I've installed graphics/pecl-imagick for one of our developers on
OpenBSD 4.8. For some reason this php extension refuses to load. I also
built a new package from ports to see if there was a problem with the
bulk build, same issue. Any ideas?

Re: graphics/pecl-imagick - Cannot load specified object

2011-02-28 Thread Jason Dixon
Thanks to sthen who suggested the use of `LD_DEBUG=1 php -m`. This made
it obvious that /usr/X11R6/lib hadn't been loaded into shlib. I had
forgotten about this after installing the package, and haven't rebooted
since then either.

Sorry for the noise guys, my rc.subr is in sync. Total PEBKAC. I

After this slapd started via /etc/rc.d/slapd

I do not know why directories was not created during package
intallation. There was no message after installation of openldap-server
and there is no readme for it that mentions that thing.

 # chown -R _openldap:wheel /var/run/openldap

Something strange is happening then; /etc/rc.d/slapd creates this
directory in rc_pre().

 # mkdir -p /var/openldap-data
 # chown -R _openldap:_openldap /var/openldap-data

And this is present as an @sample in the openldap-server package.

 After this slapd started via /etc/rc.d/slapd

 I do not know why directories was not created during package
 intallation. There was no message after installation of openldap-server
 and there is no readme for it that mentions that thing.

 Here is an update to QEMU 0.14.0.

Was able to install Windows 7 ultimate as a VM, but when I attempted
to install OpenBSD/amd64 4.9 using the install49.iso, I get to the
boot prompt, it starts booting cd0a:/4.9/amd64bsd.rd, it does the
chaing of numbers, and for a microsec see Entry point... and then it
powercycles and starts again, trying to boot from cd0a and fails ad
nauseum.

Also, I noticed the qemu version still shows '0.13.0' when you ask
qemu from the commandline.

The i386 install49.iso does not seem to have an issue. Installs
correctly with no issues...

I haven't tried with other OSes. Win7 is slow, but usable if you
absolutely have to (used 512M of memory to install it, took 3 hours,
and overnight for all d/l and install of all updates). Number of
processors/RAM made little difference

Bryan

looks like you're using the qemu binary; you need qemu-system-x86_64.

pretty much... :) I had an old copy of the 'README' (probably from
the 0.9.x port).
