Re(4): PowerMail 6.2.1 build 4668 on X.9.0 Issue

2014-01-17 Thread Martin Ruettenauer
With Mavericks and PM 6.2.1, it depends on my workflow whether PowerMail shows
the endless spinning beachball or not:

(1) When another application is open - I tested Safari and iTunes - and I open
PM and try to retrieve e-mails, PM crashes. After closing the other app and PM
and restarting PM, PM works fine. When I then open the other app again, PM
continues to work without problems.

(2) When no other application is open and I start PM and retrieve e-mails, no
problem occurs.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Martin

Hi Tom,

Same behavior here with Mac OS 10.9.1, PowerMail 6.2.1 build 4668 on a
MacBook Pro early 2011.

Restarting my computer was the only solution.

now I would give up after 20 minutes of 'spining.' Then without changing
anything, it began to work again. Seems to be sporadic but very
frustrating.

Since upgrading to MacOS 10.9.1 (yesterday) I have been
having the same problem where whenever PowerMail retrieves
a message, I get a spinning beach ball for 10-20 minutes
or more. Also, I still have the problem where PowerMail
crashes the first time I open it (from the Finder) and
then have to select 'Reopen' in order to actually launch
it.

I rebuilt my search indexes and compacted the
database..etc with no effect. When I attempted to do a low
level rebuild, I got a message saying that there was an
error in doing so.

While the spinning is happening, I have gotten several
messages that a memory error occurred:

(index.temp)
Class=std ; what=1; when=100
Class=Cach; what=100; when=7 (index.temp)
Class=Cach; what=100; when=5 (index.temp)

Any help would be appreciated!

When such a hang occurs, open Activity Monitor from the
Applications/Utilities folder.
- Select the PowerMail process in the processes list
- From the View menu, select Sample Process
- Save the result in a text file, and send it to me.

Kind regards

Any general suggestions for fixing the spinning beach ball.

THe program appears to be failing to connect normally.

I guess I should try rentering the account info?
