All TVA site permit workers to take their dosimetry home.

We conduct studies of surround areas where most individuals live and have a 
pretty good idea of the background variation in the area. We have a few cases 
annually of individuals taking their DLR on travel, to medical procedures, 
x-raying in the security screening x-ray machine, storing dosimetry near 
natural occurring background sources, even compasses with radium dials that we 
have to investigate and address from time to time. From a dosimetrist point of 
view not ideal, but we manage the challenges it presents.
