I got a text earlier this morning from my stepdad about an opportunity for me to work on a project. One of our former students who attended the Music Academy on Saturdays that I currently work at is working on a project for his grandma and needed help with  editing it. Basically, the former student recorded about 150 songs off the radio, but needs the beginnings and endings of the songs edited because of talking in commercials. Then I think he wants them organized together in a certain order after that. I know I could definitely do this easily with ProTools Ultimate, but I don’t have that type of system yet. I was wondering if ProTools Intro would be accessible for me to use for working on this project now, or would I need to use the Artist version instead? Which version would be the most accessible For me to accomplish this? Also, I have a MacBook Air with an M2 chip running Ventura. Would this work for using ProTools? Is Mac OS Sonoma supported yet with ProTools as well? I don’t have a control surface right now, so I will be using the keyboard for editing.Thanks.KatieSent from my iPhone-- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Pro Tools Accessibility" group. To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an email to ptaccess+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com.To view this discussion on the web visit https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/ptaccess/B65666D0-8AB5-4A61-8579-DA573497EF93%40att.net.

COncerning the Target plugin:

Some problems plz?

2022-08-07 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hello all:
While taking a small mastering course, i am facing some problems related to
SOme plugins and VOice over, so I will write them here, and hope you can help
me fixing what am facing.

1- how can we Read inside the VU Meeter? is there an accessible VU meeter
plugin?
2- moving between Open plugins without opening 1 by 1 each time, I tried TO
press on Target plugin but with no help.
3- how can i write Volume Automation by section using Keyboard not COntrol
surface? so i need to add 1 Db volume from bar 10 to bar 20, can i do this
using Just my keyboard or i should use COntrol surface etc?
4- When i need to load presets from the Ozone9, Pro tools always crash, but
when voice over is off, it works, is there a solution?
5- what is a good EQ that can do mid side technique? I tried the Ozone 9 EQ,
and it crashes with VOice over.

distrokid, cdbaby, tunecore, or what?
I read many articals, and i can understand that distrokid is the cheapest, but
i must use another tool called song trust to protect my royalties, is this
right?
but am asking here about the accessibility,
if anyone tried the distrokid, please tell me.

Building an accessible Virtual arranger on pro tools, can we?

2021-01-12 Thread Ramy Moustafa Saber
Hi all:

DO not know if my ideas can be true or not, but i need to have a virtual
arranger in my hand for quick tasks,
I picked mini drum and percussion loops, that can be stretshed, but my issue is
about chords,
can’t we find something that can play chords after we write them? and i can
build the style of playing according to what i need?
do not know if you can get me or not, but i Hate using Hardware keyboards
because all of them are not accessible, and i need to perform what i need with
my hands.

Get read of My Arranger Keyboard, but is there an alternative?

2020-01-10 Thread Ramy Moustafa Saber رامي مصطفى صابر
Hi all:
do not know if this is Pro tools related, but i decided to start from here. I
have my Korg pa3x Arranger keyboard, which i use in my Studio to get some
styles and Voices from it. As for voices i can try to get them from any Kontakt
Library, but as for Styles, the arranger is not accessible for us, and i can
deal with it in a very lemeted Way, so am thinking of selling it, but how can i
achieve this in Pro tools? i mean, I need to create some Guitar Baterns, SOme
new styles, using different drum kits etc, i need to recall them in an easy way
to use them in my arrangement, is there a software that can do this and be
accessilb efor us?
I see different musicians now using the Fruti loops Studio, they can produce
music in a very very little time, they can make a drum style in a minute,
building a guitar section just by writing small things etc,
but it is not accessible at all, are there any other alternatives, or how can i
achieve what i need?
Thanks in advance

Re: Seprating midi track to different channels

2019-12-15 Thread Ramy Moustafa Saber رامي مصطفى صابر
Hi Slau:
Thanks so much, i found all kind of splitting in the world :D but i found more
than i need, so for instance, am recording a full arranger with Drums, bass,
and e-piano, each instrument has it’s own channel, but now Pro Tools consider
each note as midi track after splitting, is there a way to split the notes
according to there channels not just splitting notes? it’s very helpful in
drums, but it’s disaster in bass and E-piano.
Do you have an idea?

2019-12-14 Thread Ramy Moustafa Saber رامي مصطفى صابر
Hi all:

I have about 30 Karaoke Tracks that will use them in my Live concert,
I know that Mastering is not a Subject to conver in an email or 100s, but I do
not need to master an album, just these 30 Tracks to be ok in the Live concert,
not so much bass, not so much Tribble, etc,
so, I will use Eq on each track, but is there any other advice that i can
follow to achieve this?

Addding more chorus?

2019-12-04 Thread Ramy Moustafa Saber رامي مصطفى صابر
Hi all:

sometimes i got Vocal tracks but not mini, and i need a good Blug-in to
increase the Vocal tracks, i used the Doubler 4 from Avid and it’s working with
E-pianos and so on, but with Vocal it is so artificial, sometimes i doublicate
some Chorus tracks and start moving one of them a little forward to give a
Vocal sense do not know if this is good or not, but ths is all i can do, if
you know any other good plug-in that can do the trick, please share.

Recording automation for a long time

2019-01-15 Thread Ramy Moustafa
HI all:

now i need to record volume automation, it’s a speech with Background music, i
start lowering the volume at the start, then, the music will have the same low
Volume level to the near end, what am doing now, is that i must listen to the
hole file to Record the automation, because when i stop, the fader goes up.
it there a way to Record an automation in a spot, and go to another place on
the file without changing what i automated? let’s say this is volume here?

thanks in advance.

Hi Slau:
Thanks so much for that, And u r right, the 1st 2 are both line in and Mike,
but the rest are just mikes, but there is no button to do that.
now, am not asking a question about Onyx, am asking about the Mac core audio
SOund cards, if my sound card does not have a driver, and the company itself
says that it will work on mac core audio without any problems, so, i can not
find a place to make the mike higher than that,

Thanks for yur Continus help

2019-01-13 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi Slau:

Thanks so much, my Sound card is the Onyx Mackie 1220 I, it’s a firewire sound
card with analog Mixer Keys.
I set my gain to more than 50% so, do not think that the Software can do
anything,
THanks so much for helping, all i need is to be sure if there is something that
i must switch or something on Protools to take higher gain.
Thanks

Mike level or what?

2019-01-12 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi all:

I have a very strange issue when Recording, In fact this is not new.
When i need to take a test mike from a singer, before starting to sing, I am
using the P to see the beak level, from what i know that i must have my beak
like Minus 20 or something.
is it right to Messure the Beak value or i must see the Level or what?

my solo beak always be minus 30 or less, so, i think this is too low. and my
Sound card gain for this track is above half. so, is it regular? or is there a
place which i can Raise the Input level for Protools?
Thanks

2 Questions Regarding midi

2018-12-22 Thread Ramy Moustafa

1- If i need to record midi track over another midi track on the same track.
i mean i need to record the drum track but i will record the kick, then will
rerecord but will record the Snaer, etc. how can i do that?
2- If i will record a drum loop for 1 measure, How can i make it Looping?
i Can use the CMD shift L, but it will not play it, it will play the hole

2018-12-18 Thread Ramy Moustafa
SO, it’s perfect to leave the Autotune Plug in on the same Audio track, even if
i have more than 8 or 10 VOcal tracks? right?
but even this Audio track will not handel just 1 person, they are 4 singers on
the same Mike, so, will Autotune or something similar will do any effect?

what is right, to usWHat is Correct for a pitch correction plugin?

2018-12-18 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi all:

I’m using my wavetune Realtime to correct some notes while recording.
I am using it on all my Vocal tracks, so, let’s say i have 8 VOcal tracks, each
one of them have it’s own instance.
but i saw a video on youtube, from Protools expert, and he put the Wavetune on
an Auxelary track and send all his Vocal tracks to this Aux,
is it right?
And this will lead me to ask, what about COmpressors also?
must i put the compressor on each track, or i can put it on an oxelary and
point my Vocal tracks to this vocal OX?

Need your experience please
Thanks in advance

there is no way to know where the singer is singing, he can sing just 1 or 2
words,
and then silence for 4 or 5 bars. etc
so the tap will not work.

Editing a long take

2018-11-21 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi all:

Need to know if there is a better Strategy of editing an audio take contains
some backing vocal?
the VOcal asked me not to shut down the track, which means, he will sing in
some places he liked, it was a Rap song.
so, while editing, i have all the audio track as 1 track, is there a better way
of editing it just removing unwanted Breething between a long distance?
let’s say that the Rapper started his rap on bar 2, for 2 beats, he keeps
silent til bar 9. and start singing again.
of cores, i do not tknow when he will sing to open and close the record, which
means that in editing, i must listen to the hole track to edit it.
sited engineers tcan see the places that he sang as strong waves, and start
editing before them.
is there an accessibl solution?

Listening to the end of my selection

2018-11-05 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi all:

Now am using the Cmd+1 and cmd+2 to select a big audio data to bounce etc.
i need to be sure that my selection is right, i can listen to what is before
and after my selection by using Option right arrows or command, but i need to
listen to a small bit of audio before the end my selection to be sure that my
selection is right, specially that my selection is followed by silence.
so, i tried many short cuts with no hope.
any help?

Changing the Midi track Voluem

2018-10-10 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi all again:

I have some Kontakt libraries that are in the same Kontakt Module, I created
some Midi tracks and send there output to the Track that Holding the kontakt,
BUt changing the volume for each midi track does not do anything. i tried using
cmd+option+ down or up arrows but the same,
And of cores using control+cmd+ arrows did not turn the volume up or down.
i’m not happy to play in this way, because i love to have each instrument track
with it’s Kontakt or KK instance, but they are more than 20 Library, and my
Machine hangs mini times.
so, what are your suggestions? why the volume could not be changed?

2018-10-10 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi all:

I listened and tried a very very great Orchestral Library called Sonuscore
Library, it’s for Kontakt Of cores, but it has 100s of rhythms for all
Orchestra instruments, some very beautiful endings, etc etc.
DO not know if it will be accessible on the KK or not? can we access and
change these Orchestral Movements or what?

just need to ask if anyone here used it.
thanks in advance
